Advocacy for Morn. Peninsula

■ Mornington Peninsula Shire Council intends to use the lead-up time to the State Election to advocate for local projects. “We are calling on political candidates in the seats of Hastings, Mornington and Nepean to pledge funding for our most important projects,” said a statement from the Council. The Council has developed a list of our top priorities for the Mornington Peninsula. “We need funding and support for: ■ affordable housing ■ safer roads ■ a cross-Peninsula bus service (Hastings to Mornington) ■ a rail line beyond Frankston ■ protecting our coastline from erosion – including our piers and jetties ■ securing recycled water supply ■ a new hospital and medical research centre for Rosebud ■ a new performing arts centre improved mobile coverage ■ building one of the worlds greatest walking and cycling trails

Supported by UNICEFAustralia and the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition, Youth Voice in Parliament Week aims to give young Australians.
