COUNCIL DECISION SET ASIDE BY VCAT
■ Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal member Tracey Bilston-McGillen has set aside a Banyule Council planning permit decision about an Eaglemont. Jason and Katrina Fraser want to partially demolish properties at 1-3 Charlton Rd, and extend two existing dwellings, remove vegetation and reduce the car parking requirement. The development, on The Righi corner, was orginally refused by the Council on grounds including heritage, landscaping, car parking, vegetation protection and overdevelopment. There were a number of objectors to the proposal. Ms Bilston-McGillen said the proposed development did not mimic historical styles. “I find the proposed addition is not visually intrusive,” she said in her determination.
