■ The new Eltham Community Hospital, promised prior to the 2019 State Election, is being re-promised prior to the November 2022 poll. Eltham MLA Vicki Ward and Health Minister Martin Foley issued a media release on Saturday (June 11) to boast that land had been secured at 405 Ryans Rd, Diamond Creek, for the hospital. The media release’s final line says that completion of the project is due in 2024. Plans and works are yet to begin on the project. Eastern Metropolitan MLC Dr Matthew Bach held the State Government late last year, with a question about the yet-to-begin hospital. ● See report on Page 3
