DAN FIGHTS 13 FOR SOUTH-EAST SEAT

■ Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews must defeat 13 challengers to win the Mulgrave seat in the State Election this Saturday (Nov. 26). The field of 14 includes independent Ian Cook, known for his fight against Department of Health and Greater Dandenong Council for the closure of his business. Mr Cook says he felt that it was not enough to complain about corruption and not do anything about it. Another local independent eager to win the seat is Fotini Theodossopoulou. Both Cook and Theodossopoulou have placed paid full-page advertisements in The Local Paper. On the other hand, Mr Andrews has declined to have any contact over the past three years with The Local Paper. MrAndrews has bans on other media outlets such as radio station 3AW. Mr Andrews’s ongoing refusal to speak with media outlets is being increasingly seen as arrogant

Other candidates are Andrew King, Ezra Isma, Anne Moody, Joseph Toscano, Howard Lee, David Mould (Animal Justice Party), Jan Freeman (Family First Victoria), Robert Lim (Australian Greens), Maree Wood (DLP), Michael Piastrino (Liberal) The Mulgrave district includes

areas including Brandon Park, Noble Park, Noble Park North and Springvale, as well as parts of Dandenong North and Wheelers Hill. There will be a large focus on the seat of Mulgrave in Saturday night’s vote counting, with last weekend’s media indicating that Mr Andrews is facing that his own brand has become “toxic”. Liberal advertising has increasingly foicused on Mr Andrews’s involvement in a fourth corruption probe, with suggestions that the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission may be starting a fifth enquiry. Former Victoria Police Chief Commissioner, Kel Glare, 84, said that the Andrews Government was the most corrupt in his lifetime. “We are entitled to have governments that are ethical, accountable, and competent, and I don’t think we have any of those things at the moment,” Mr Glare said. Mulgrave is seen as one of the safest Labor seats with a margin of 15.8 per cent.
