Business brekky at Cardinia

■ Cardinia Shire Council will host the first Cardinia Business Networking Breakfast for the year on Thursday, March 23 at the Cardinia Cultural Centre. The event will focus on the various ways that businesses can save money on their energy bills and move towards a more environmentally sustainable organisation. The breakfast will include a range of speakers, including a Sustainable Australia Fund representative and local businesses that have implemented energy-saving initiatives. Cardinia Shire Council Mayor, Cr Tammy Radford, said the event is set to be a great opportunity for the local business community to learn important lessons about how to be more environmentally sustainable. "Given the rising cost of utilities, this business brekkie will give business owners the chance to learn invaluable information about how they can reduce their operating expenses and network with other business owners who have implemented adjustments,” Cr Radford said. Tickets are $28 and are available from www.trybooking.com/CFNXT

Mini exhibitions start this week

■ The Cardinia Cultural Centre ‘CCC Capsule’ launches this week, and will transform into a unique artistic display every six weeks showcasing work from artists far and wide. Expressions of interest were sought from innovative and diverse artists to hold a sixweek mini exhibition in the CCC Capsule, which is the glass cabinet near the main entrance inside the foyer of Cardinia Cultural Centre. Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Tammy Radford said that this opportunity is perfect for artists who want their work to be seen. “The cabinet at CCC has a high level of foot traffic passing by each day, which allows the artists a platform to exhibit their work to a new audience,” she said. “We’re looking forward to displaying a variety of visual mediums over the year and representing a range of themes and ideas.” To view the series of mini exhibitions, visit Cardinia Cultural Centre throughout the year between 10am and 3pm daily. cardiniaculturalcentre.com.au
