Officer centre plan comments sought
● Cr Tammy Radford ■ Cardinia Shire residents, landowners and businesses are invited to review the draft Officer Town Centre Urban Design Framework 2023 as part of community consultation until Friday, March 17. Cardinia Council previously consulted with the community in preparing the draft 2016 UDF and is now undertaking further community engagement to finalise the framework. Cardinia Shire Mayor CrTammy Radford said Council wants to ensure the Officer town centre is a vibrant, attractive, and sustainable town centre that residents can enjoy. “For many years, there has been a lot of interest in the development of the Officer Town Centre and it has been great to see it starting to take shape over the past couple of years. “It’s important that our community is part of the process in developing this strategic document, so we can ensure new developments are consistent with the existing character and provide a positive public realm experience,” Cr Radford said.

Clean Up Aust. Day
■ Cardinia Shire residents, businesses and schools are encouraged to sign up for this year’s Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday, March 5. Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Tammy Radford said Clean Up Australia Day plays a vital role in addressing environmental challenges within our Shire. “Participating in Clean Up Australia Day fosters a sense of community spirit whilst making impactful change for our environment,” Cr Radford said. “The Clean Up Australia Day website has a range of spots throughout the shire that you can choose from, or you can register your own local park, reserve or walking track as a ‘clean up’ site.” All Cardinia Shire residents who register a site will receive a free ‘clean-up kit’ including bags and gloves. The Council will also assist with the collection and disposal of all rubbish collected on the day. If volunteers cannot organise a site on Clean Up Australia Day, they can organise a Clean Up for any day of the year by simply registering their ‘clean up’ site and notifying Council to have the litter collected and disposed of after their event. Clean UpAustralia Day is the nation's largest community-based environmental event and more than 20 million Australians have participated since. More than 20 million Australians have participated in Clean Up Australia activities and events since 1990. Schools and local businesses can sign up for Business Clean Up Day on Tuesda February 28 and Schools Clean Up Day on Friday, March 3.
