$2.5M FOR RESERVE BEACONSFIELD UPGRADE
Feeding 13,000 local people ● Local Freemasons and the Freemasons Foundation have donated cash to Community Support Frankston. ■ Many local sporting clubs will benefit from a $2.5 million commitment from the Victorian Opposition to upgrade facilities at Perc Allison Reserve in Beaconsfield, according to local politician Brad Battin. Perc Allison Reserve is home to a number of local cricket, AFL and tennis clubs, and is used by hundreds of people of all ages. The funding commitment will go toward the installation of new solar lighting around the precinct, which will improve safety for all players and spectators. New fencing would also be installed, and the playing surface will be better equipped to handle all conditions with a major upgrade to the oval and drainage. Two tennis courts would be resurfaced and additional lighting will be installed so that players can serve and volley day and night, under the Liberals-National proposal Opposition Leader Matthew Guy said the commitment would encourage children to get active. “It’s important to support grassroots programs which encourage Victorian children to take up a sport,” Mr Guy
● Brad Battin said. “This commitment by the Liberals and Nationals will deliver better facilities so these clubs can continue to have a place to call home.” Liberal candidate for Berwick, Brad Battin, said the commitment was a major win for the local community. “A Matthew Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will deliver what the Beaconsfield community has been crying out for,” Mr Battin said. “Hundreds of locals will benefit from this major upgrade to Perc Allison Reserve.”
