Rebels fight Emerald, fog
■ The Rebels travelled to play fifth place Emerald in a danger game with a win essential to maintain third place on the ladder the task was made even harder with an injury/availability list in excess of 15 since the game against Pakenham two weeks earlier, an injury as bad as many supporters could remember.
Thick fog greeted the Rebels on arrival resulting in the u18s game being abandoned.
RESERVES
The Reserves were able to field a side due to Jayden Valentine and Shannon Galloway both U18 players stepping up to help, as well as Braydon Norris coming out of retirement to help the boys out.
The team gave their all but were outplayed across four quarters by their Emerald opponents.
One ppositive was the performances of young Rebels, Jayden Valentine who was certainly up to the challenge, Dylan Jack, Luke Wal, Joshua Crane, Lachlan Collard, Brayden Norris and Cooper Phillips were also prominent throughout.

SENIORS
The Senior side took to a fog shrouded ground making for a close low scoring game and although the Rebels were never headed a 15-point margin was never exceeded covering the loss of Kellan Percy (Full Back), Thomas Wynne (Center Half Back), Will Stewart (Full Forward) and Forward Bart Wallace from last week’s game against Seville highlighted the challenge the boys faced.
Better players were small forwards Johnathon Grimwade and Josh Edwards who created constant threats to the Emerald defence young ruckman Brad Johnson continues to impress with another standout performance.
The defence was rock solid lead by captain Tom Boots and brother Charlie Boots and midfielder Harry Aikman was prominent as well Scott Heveren keeping Emerald’s key forward goal less also a deserved special mention.
Goalkickers: Edwards 2, Grimwade 2, Sam Critchley, Cameron Bishop, Riley Frankcombe, Steve Steiner, all with one each.

The Rebels now travel to place cross town rivals Yea in the local derby in another danger game with wins crucial to be followed by a badly needed bye which won’t come quick enough giving us an extra week to strengthen the availability list and continue the march to the finals.

The Under 18s made the trip to Monbulk on Saturday morning, however unfortunately the weather had other plans.
After thick fog settled over the ground, conditions were deemed unsafe and the match was abandoned before play could get underway.

It was a tough day on the court for our
netballers, with Emerald proving too strong across all four grades.
Despite the results, our teams continued to compete hard and never stopped fighting until the final whistle.

The girls now turn their attention to Thursday night's specialist training with Julie Hoornweg, former Melbourne Vixens coach and highly respected netball mentor.
Julie will be working with Under 15s and Under 17s from 5pm–5.45pm, followed by a Q&A session from 5.45pm–6.15pm.
A, B and C-Grade players will then take the court with Julie from 6.15pm–7.25pm. all players are encouraged to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to learn from one of the game's most experienced coaches.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL & NETBALL
The junior Rebels were back in action on Sunday, with plenty of determination and effort on display across both football and netball.
On the football field, the Under 16s came up against a strong Moama outfit, going down 7-133.
Despite the scoreboard, the boys continued to compete and never stopped working for one another.
A special mention must go to our Under 14 players, who stepped up to help the Under 16s and ensured the side was able to take the field. The Under 12s battled hard against St Mary's, going down 26-45, while Under 9s and Under 10s once again showcased excellent sportsmanship, teamwork and developing skills.

On the netball courts, there were some terrific contests, with our Under 11 Red and Under 15 Black teams recording impressive wins over Yea and St Mary's respectively. The Under 13 Red team was edged out by just one goal in a thrilling all-Alexandra clash against Under 13 Black, while Under 11 Black battled hard throughout the day.
