BILD EM AWARDS ROHIT GROUPS’
HOMES AND COMMUNITIES WIN BIG AT
2026 is turning out to be a milestone year for Rohit Group, as the Edmonton-based homebuilder and developer won big at the 2026 BILD Edmonton Metro Awards of Excellence (AOE), taking home both Builder of the Year – Large Volume and Developer of the Year honours.
Rohit Group also took home awards for Best Mixed-Use Development for the Covenant Wellness Community in partnership with Covenant Health, the Safety Excellence award, and was also named a finalist in six other categories.
“Receiving both the Large Volume Builder and Developer of the Year awards in the same year is
But winning Builder of the Year and Developer of the Year at the same time is quite an accomplishment. “That combination is what makes it feel like a real milestone. Because together, those two awards recognize both sides of what Rohit does: the home itself, and the larger community built around it. That’s not something that happens every year, and we don’t take it lightly.” COVER STORY
a tremendous honour – and a true reflection of the multidisciplinary strengths of the Rohit Group as a whole,” says Doug VandenBrink, VP of Rohit Communities. “Our team brings the same foundational values to everything we touch, whether that’s master-planned communities, housing, or mixeduse developments.”
Jag Mehta, Vice President, Rohit Homes Edmonton, says this is one of the biggest and most meaningful award that the organization has received. He adds that winning “never gets old,” but this one felt different.
“Winning Builder of the Year (Large Volume) for the fifth time is something we genuinely don’t take for granted. Five times is a statement. It reflects the homes we build and the experience we create for our buyers every single day.”
Rohit Group
A LEGACY OF SUCCESS
Their 2026 wins at BILD EM’s AOE awards follows Rohit’s strong showing in the same awards last year, where they won Best Showhome Parade for the Chérot Laned Showhomes, Best MultiFamily Under $300,000 for the Cali Townhome in Ethereal Zen, and three more marketing awards (Best Integrated/Mixed Campaign, Best Brochure Package, and Best Website/App).
The success is a testament to their client-oriented approach and a commitment to familyoriented, nature-connected, recreation-minded lifestyles for both their homes and community developments. Which makes the ultimate winner to be their customers, who now get to enjoy living in a home or community that has been adjudged by the industry as among the best in the city.
“A buyer who purchases a Rohit home in a Rohit community
gets a two-fold benefit: a welldesigned, quality-built home within a thoughtfully planned neighbourhood,” VandenBrink says. “Our goal is simple – we want new homeowners to step outside on day one and already feel at home in their community.”
“For our buyers, it signals confidence,” says Mehta. “These awards are judged by industry peers who understand construction quality, design integrity, and buyer experience. When the industry recognizes you as the best, it gives buyers that added layer of assurance that they’re making the right choice.
But an even better outcome of the recognition is how it puts a spotlight on Rohit Group’s continued contributions to the city’s growth, and not just through the development of new communities and homes.
“For example, through Rohit Infrastructure, we’re transforming
Alberta’s healthcare landscape by developing mixed-use wellness projects – in partnership with providers like Covenant Health – that integrate health facilities, senior long-term care, residential units, and commercial spaces, all in support of healthier, more connected communities,” VandenBrink says. “These awards remind us that this vision is resonating.”
2026 GROWTH CONTINUES
Rohit Group, of course, is not resting on their laurels, and they have a lot more developments planned for the rest of 2026. And with the passing of the federal GST rebate program for first-time homebuyers, where buyers can save up to 5 percent on their purchase, a lot more people in the city will have the opportunity to grow with them.
“There’s a lot to look forward to,” VandenBrink says. “On the community side, we have a grand opening this summer at Woodhaven Ravine.” (See story on page 18.) “In addition, we’re launching three new neighbourhoods: Pintail in Big Lake gets underway in 2026, followed by Fields of Uplands in southwest Edmonton and a project in Strathcona County in 2027.”
Mehta says Rohit Homes is excited for what’s coming on the Designer Interiors™ front. “We can’t give too much away just yet, but buyers should watch this space there are some exciting developments coming to the program that we think will raise the bar on what a new home can look and feel like.”
Rohit Homes – Ethereal Zen
Rohit Homes currently has showhomes in Arbours of Keswick Edmonton, Cambrian Sherwood Park and Chérot St. Albert for buyers to walk through and experience Rohit Homes. “We’re also excited about We also have new communities coming in 2026 and 2027 where buyers will get a look at our bold new interiors.”
MORE ON THE GO
Rohit Communities is currently developing eight communities in the Edmonton region, amassing 2,700-plus acres of lifetime developments in Alberta.
“We’re especially proud of Cambrian and Chérot – both are master-planned communities with distinct character and architectural styles,” VandenBrink says. “What sets them apart is that from day one, residents had access to completed playgrounds, ponds, and walking paths. That lived-in feeling from the moment you arrive is something we work hard to deliver.”
Mehta says he is excited for people to discover their Landon duplex model. “It’s a good example of what Rohit does well: it’s stylish, practical, and easy to picture yourself living in. At 1,565 square-feet with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, it hits a sweet spot for a lot of buyers because it feels attainable without feeling basic.”
He says another thing to love about the Landon is how consistently it shows up across Rohit’s lineup. “You can find it in communities like Cambrian, Arbours of Keswick, Chérot, Kinglet Gardens and Mattson, which says a lot about how well it resonates. For me, it’s a strong reflection of the kind of home buyers are responding to right now – design-forward, functional, and right-sized for real life.”
THE ROHIT PROMISE
The abiding promise at Rohit though is a continued focus on excellence. Whether in the designs of their home, or in the layout of their communities, it is the comfort of their customers that is top of mind.
“At the end of the day, buyers will always want and expect quality – in their home and in their community,” VandenBrink says. “Regardless of where the market sits at any given moment, Rohit will remain a top choice for those ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives.”
“Honestly, our buyers give us the most confidence,” Mehta adds. “Edmonton buyers are still very much engaged; they’re just being more thoughtful. They want value, but they also want a home that feels distinctive. Right now,
between our Designer Interiors™ included in every home and the GST rebate available to first-time buyers, we’re able to deliver both. That plays directly to our strengths.”
Rohit Group is a privately owned national real estate company operating in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. The company’s subsidiaries enrich communities by providing land development, home building, commercial real estate, residential rentals, and health, as well as social, infrastructure. Since being established as a humble Edmonton builder in 1986, Rohit Group has grown to hold $1.3B in assets under management with an interest to expand across North America.

AMAZING ARRAY OF NEW HOME OPPORTUNITIES IN
NORTHEAST EDMONTON
by PEPPER RODRIGUEZ
With an ever-growing abundance of new home opportunities, Edmonton remains a beacon of growth in the country.
Housing starts have been on a record-breaking pace, rising from 18,384 in 2024 to 21,337 in 2025 – an increase of 16.1 per cent, and the highest growth ever recorded.
Edmonton’s new communities have proven to be attractive to many new home buyers, particularly first-time buyers. Adding further fuel is the recent passing of the federal GST rebate program for first-time homebuyers. And one of the areas in Edmonton that will likely catch most of this growth is the booming Northeast Edmonton area.
With new communities like Crystallina Nera, Marquis and Marquis West and a host of well-
established neighbourhoods in the sector, the northeast is primed to be a destination for those looking for a fresh start.
“Northeast Edmonton is an incredibly appealing place to start your homeownership journey,” says Tara Van Horn, Coventry Homes Director of Marketing and Communications. “It offers a rare combination of affordability, accessibility, and growth, which is exactly what many first-time buyers are looking for. With easy connections to Anthony Henday Drive and key employment areas, it’s a practical choice for those balancing work, lifestyle, and budget.”
HOT SECTOR GETS HOTTER
The fresh, dynamic, young northeast communities that have
blossomed along Anthony Henday have been hot. This sector that used to be known more as an industrial part of the city is now gaining a reputation for offering a wide range of family-friendly, nature-centric, amenity-rich residential communities with affordable new home options.
The borders of the NE Edmonton quadrant are commonly seen as the Yellowhead Trail to the south, the city limits to the north and east, and 97 Street to the west.
Van Horn says Northeast Edmonton strikes the perfect balance between convenience, community, and affordability. “Residents enjoy easy access to schools, parks, shopping, and major roadways, while still having space to grow in a quiet, familyfriendly environment.”
Crystallina Nera
Coventry Homes offers a wide-array of home types here, particularly in the communities of Crystallina Nera, Marquis, and Marquis West. Their sister company, Impact Homes, also builds in Marquis and Crystallina Nera.
“Impact Homes focus is on laned homes with rear detached garages, specifically designed with first-time buyers and expanding families in mind. These homes maximize space and deliver great value, all while maintaining the feel of a traditional single-family home. Many of our homes also feature private side entrances, making them ideal for basement revenue suites or in-law suites, perfect for buyers looking to offset their mortgage or create flexible living spaces.”
NEW HOME LIVING OPTIONS
There are plenty of opportunities to find a new place to settle in this part of town, and there’s no beating the affordability of the suburbs when it comes to new homes.
One of the newest is Marquis West by NAC Group. Located in Northeast Edmonton near the beautiful North Saskatchewan River, Marquis West is a natural location for new homes. Residents will enjoy the best of both worlds – a tight knit
community where connections can be made and easy access to all the amenities in the city.
It is just minutes away from the Manning Town Centre and the variety of established retail, dining, and entertainment options it offers, Marquis itself offers an idyllic respite from the hubbub with plans for a large central park with multi-use trails, a park and green space for community gatherings.
Then there is Crystallina Nera, it is one of Northeast Edmonton’s more established communities, offering a mature streetscape, completed amenities, and a strong sense of community. For buyers who want the comfort of a neighbourhood that’s already come to life, this is a great option.
“Opportunities here are becoming more limited as it nears its final stages,” Van Horn says.
Marquis brings a more natural, serene setting, with plenty of green space and water features. It’s ideal for buyers who want a quieter environment while still being connected to the city. The community is still growing, giving buyers the chance to be part of its early evolution.
“From Marquis it’s a short drive across the Anthony Henday to Manning Towne Centre, which has all of the shopping, dining
and entertainment amenities,” she adds.
FIRST-TIMERS’ PARADISE
The Northeast brings plenty of opportunities especially to firsttime homebuyers who can now take advantage of the federal program offering GST rebates on their new home purchases.
Coventry Homes and Impact homes certainly have an abundance of home models that can suit their needs. In fact, many of Impact’s two-storey detached garage homes feature luxurious front elevations and open concept floor plans. Offered in Tudor, Prairie, Craftsman and Colonial models, they certainly command curb appeal.
Both builders also offer Quick Possession homes with a range of availabilities: Available Immediately, in 30 days, in 90 days, or 90+ days.
“This flexibility allows buyers to move in according to their timeline while still securing a brand-new home,” she adds.
Impact Homes is part of the Coventry Group, which means buyers have the opportunity to visit the established Coventry showhomes in Marquis, Marquis West or Crystallina Nera to see the quality and design that Impact brings to laned homes, Van Horn notes. Impact Homes builds in Marquis and Crystallina Nera.
Impact Homes – Vasa Crystallina Nera
“We’re seeing a lot of interest from first-time buyers, young families, and even some downsizers who appreciate the simplicity and functionality of laned homes. Features like rear detached garages and private side entrances make these homes ideal for basement revenue suites or in-law suites, adding flexibility for growing families or extra incomes.”

CHARMS OF THE NORTHEAST
Residents, particularly those in the Marquis communities are in very close proximity to three outstanding golf courses; The Quarry, Ravencrest Golf and Country Club, and Rundle Park Golf Course.
Communities of Northeast Edmonton also have easy access to the Clareview Community Rec Center, Londonderry Leisure and Fitness Center, Sunridge Ski Area, Britness Park, Hermitage Park, Rundle Park, Manning Village Dog Park, Edmonton Public Library, Cineplex Cinemas, and Horse Hill Berry Farm, to name a few.
For shopping there is Manning Town Center, 167 Street and
Londonderry Mall are all very close by, along with Kuhlmann’s Greenhouse and the Root Seller for those interested in fresh goods. Check out all that Marquis West has to offer at marquis-west.ca.
The Clareview LRT access is a short drive away from most new communities and provides extra transit options for those that need it.
Besides the big box stores that bring convenience to life, NE Edmonton is also replete with boutique stores and familyowned diners and eateries that bring so much character to the neighbourhood.
There is no shortage of dining and entertainment options. The Cork and Barley Kitchen & Bar at the Clareview Town Centre comes highly recommended. The Ribeye Butcher Shop is legendary for its fresh cut meats and seafood selection. Their location at the Manning Town Centre is a bright, spacious spot where buyers can expect quality products and friendly service.
Green thumbs will find the charms of Khulmann’s Greenhouse, Garden, Market and Flower Shop on 167 Ave. NW irresistible. Kuhlmann’s continues to offer the best in locally grown produce, plants, trees and much more, in their over 300,000 square feet of greenhouse space. They have an incredible selection of unique gift ideas, garden décor, tools, and a fantastic floral shop that can cater to any need.

THE STYLE AND PRACTICALITY OF EDMONTON’S SHOWHOMES
Going to a showhome is an integral part in the homebuyer’s journey. Where else can you get practical advice, style tips, and the current material trends to build your dream home than in your friendlyneighbourhood showhome. And there’s a lot to look forward to in Edmonton this spring.
Seeing your new home’s floorplan illustrations are good, blueprints serve a purpose, but to really experience what life will be like in your own home, nothing beats going to a showhome.
“Showhomes play a key role in helping buyers move from imagining their home to truly experiencing it,” says Coventry
by PEPPER RODRIGUEZ
Homes’ Director of Marketing and Communications, Tara Van Horn. “While floorplans and renderings are helpful, walking through a fully finished home allows buyers to understand scale, flow, and functionality in a much more tangible way. It also gives them the opportunity to see design selections, craftsmanship, and available upgrades firsthand. Ultimately, showhomes help buyers feel more confident in their decisions by bringing their future home to life.”
“Showhomes are what bring a community to life in a way that websites or brochure cannot always do,” agrees Daisy Lieu,
Division Marketing Manager at Rohit Communities.
“A showhome offers the buyer the chance to experience the home while the home itself is, of course, an incredibly important aspect of the buying experience, the chance to experience the neighbourhood, the streets, the surroundings, the general feeling of the area, is an incredibly valuable thing for a buyer to be able to do in order to make an informed decision about where they would like to live,” she adds.
THE VALUE OF A SHOWHOME
Showhomes have always been the best tool for homebuilders to attract buyers. It allows them
Coventry Homes
to not only show off their skill and expertise in homebuilding but gives buyers an aspirational glimpse of the lifestyle that is possible for them.
Showhomes should have a love-at-first-sight impression, Van Horn says. “A great first impression comes down to creating an experience that feels both inspiring and authentic. Coventry’s awardwinning showhomes are designed to reflect real lifestyles, so when visitors walk in, they immediately understand how the space can work for them. That means thoughtfully planned layouts, purposeful room design, and spaces that feel intuitive from the moment you enter,” she says.
“We also pay close attention to the emotional side of the experience. From the moment someone steps inside, the home should feel comfortable, bright, and inviting. Natural light, clean sightlines, and well-balanced design elements all help create that sense of ease.”
Lieu says the two dozen showhomes spread across their six Edmonton and region communities bring glamour and
a sense of the lifestyle available, after all the showhome parade is one of the first features to go into a new community. Their newest parade in Woodhaven Ravine, which will have its grand opening in June, is a prime example of the value that Rohit brings to all its developments.
COVENTRY HOMES
Coventry Homes has 12 showhomes currently open in and around Edmonton. Last February, they opened their latest: The
Archer in the young community of Easton in Spruce Grove.
“Looking ahead to the rest of 2026, we have several additional openings planned in both established and emerging communities, such as Marquis, Timber Heights and Ardrossan,” Van Horn says.
“One showhome we’re especially proud of this year is our upcoming model in the new community of Timber Heights in the southwest,” she adds. “This home marks an exciting milestone for us, as it will be our first Net Zero home, designed to produce as much energy as it consumes over the course of a year.”
Like all of Coventry’s showhomes, the new Net Zero showhome makes a great first impression, creating an experience that feels both inspiring and authentic.
The new Net Zero showhome will definitely have the “wow” factor that Coventry is known for, but so much more.
“Beyond its performance, the home has been thoughtfully designed to feel warm, functional, and inviting. It’s a great example of how forward-thinking construction can be seamlessly integrated into a home that still meets the needs of modern families.”
Rohit Communities
Happy Planet Homes in Woodhaven Ravine
Coventry Homes also does its best to make each of their showhomes fit the aesthetic of the community they are in. “Each one is tailored to its community and homebuyer, giving visitors a wide variety of styles, layouts, and lifestyle options to explore,” Van Horn says. Stay informed at coventryhomes.ca.
ROHIT COMMUNITIES
From a land developer’s perspective, the showhome parade is an essential ingredient in the development of a community. Planning where to put it, how it should look, what would make it more attractive to visitors is a large part of the work at Rohit Communities, the land development arm of the Rohit
Group. And they should know, after all they won Developer of the Year at the BILD Edmonton Metro 2026 Awards of Excellence (Rohit Homes also took home Builder of the Year – Large Volume honours at the same awards).
“We believe the first impression begins at the curb before you walk through the showhome,” Lieu tells NextHome. “We think a lot about how our showhomes look from the outside, from the architectural features and materials to the pageantry to the landscaping and how the home relates to the street. Buyers can make an emotional connection from the minute they pull up, and we want that emotional connection to be a positive and exciting one and this has a direct
correlation to what they’re going to find inside those doors.”
Rohit Communities currently has six communities in and around Edmonton with a total of 24 showhomes from their builders. Cherot has four. Kinglet Gardens has three; Cambrian has five; Arbours of Keswick have five; Starling South has three; and the newest, Woodhaven Ravine, has four.
Each has something unique to add to the homebuyer experience, each displaying not just the stylish interiors of the homes, but the lifestyle that can be expected through the entire community.
Lieu says a good reminder to showhome visitors is not to be distracted by the décor and furniture of the showhomes but how the entire feel of the home like the layout, how much light enters and how much storage it offers, as well as the quality of materials used.
“I would also recommend taking a walk around the street and the neighbourhood as the home itself is just one part of the picture, and the community around it is just as important. Come with questions and use your visit to test whether this is really the right fit for your family,” she says.
Woodhaven Ravine has Rohit Communities’ latest show home parade, and it’s their newest development following the success of Woodhaven Edgemont and Woodhaven Pointe.
“The area is surrounded by lush ravines and greenspace in sought after West Edmonton. It’s being nestled in nature that makes it a truly special place. Each builder did a wonderful job showcasing their show homes at our soft opening last year and we’re excited to welcome everyone to our grand opening event in June.” Showhomes are from Blackstone Homes, Finesse Homes, Happy Planet Homes, and Victory Homes.
