ABOUT THE CROSS As a way to celebrate the many and varied charisms within our Diocese, earlier this year we invited our schools to design an image that represented their school Catholic Identity. Each school and the Townsville Catholic Education office was given a blank template with the only instruction to create a design using only a black sharpie. Students, teachers and staff came together and created unique artistic depictions of their Catholic Identity within their communities, and the results were amazing. Once completed, the drawings were collated to form one singular Townsville Catholic Education cross which was unveiled to the teaching staff at their professional development formation day, Gathering 2021: Encounter. We hope you enjoy perusing each design and a short explanation as to how the Catholic Identity is depicted.
