Āhua Gallery at Te Puia
Amokura Glass is Rotorua’s only hot glass studio and gallery, offering visitors the chance to watch live glassblowing in action. Specialising in one-of-a-kind blown glass, we create beautiful functional, decorative, and sculptural pieces. All our works are handcrafted by artist Heather Kremen and her team. Open Friday to Monday, our studio is the perfect place to find a unique souvenir or gift, made with skill and creativity.
Āhua Gallery sells taonga handcrafted by the tauira, pouako and tumu at the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute. Woven from flax, or carved from rākau, pounamu or bone, these taonga are made using the traditional Māori practices taught over generations. Commissions welcome. Open daily 9am–4pm.
