As the 2024-2025 school year settles in, the Rolling River School Division (RRSD) continues to provide a commendably stable and enriching environment for its students. Superintendent Jason Cline shared the latest enrollment figures, exciting developments in the division’s programs, and student support.

ENROLLMENT STABILITY

This year, RRSD’s enrollment sits at 1,801 students as of Sept. 30, showing a slight increase from last year’s 1,796 students. Superintendent Cline highlighted the stability the division has experienced in recent years.

“Our enrollment has aligned with projections, and we’re glad to see the numbers continue to be consistent across the division. Our pri-

ority remains delivering the best educational experience for our students, with strong support from our dedicated teaching and support staff in the schools.”

Despite fluctuations experienced during the pandemic, RRSD has maintained a steady student population, with consistent staffing across its schools. Principals across the RRSD have provided strong leadership, ensuring that the division remains focused on student success.

EXPANDED PROGRAMS

RRSD received $143,000 in nutrition funding from Manitoba Education this year, which has allowed the division to expand its school nutrition programs. Some of these funds have been used to increase hours for existing support staff, such as educational assistants, to implement and manage these essential programs. In addition, the division has

seen significant progress in the Elder’s and Knowledge Keepers program, a vital initiative supported by Manitoba Education. This program plays an important role in strengthening connections to Indigenous culture and values in schools. Principals have integrated this program into their schools, creating more inclusive and culturally aware learning environments.
