With a skiff of snow on the ground and a deeper chill in the air, youngsters were forced to put on some warmer clothes on the morning of Friday, Nov. 28 for a cold walk to school. Kindly remember, donations of a gently used or new winter coat to programs is the difference between being cold or comfortable for many, as warm gear protects tiny fingers and toes from frostbite and other exposures to the elements.

Minnedosa’s holiday season unfolds with ageless anticipation and heartfelt merry-making on Saturday, Dec. 6, when the community once again gathers for Christmas in the Valley and the Santa Claus Parade – an eveninglong celebration that blends light,

memory, excitement, and togetherness in a way few small towns can match.
While Minnedosa’s December calendar is filled with concerts, markets, and festive gatherings, parade night remains the central event that brings the entire town into a cordial rhythm of anticipation and joy.
Last year’s parade delivered
one of Minnedosa’s strongest turnouts since the tradition was revived, with more than 20 floats, perfect weather, and families filling Main Street from end to end.
Children crowded into the Community Centre for Santa’s visit, sleigh rides carried riders well into dusk, and the Memory Lights ceremony once again gave the evening a heartfelt conclusion.
This year, organizers expect an even larger turnout. With a fuller slate of daytime activities, more groups hinting at entering floats, and the momentum created by the Chamber’s “destination weekend” vision, 2025 is shaping up to be the most vibrant parade night yet.
The Santa Claus Parade begins at 6:00 p.m., launching from just west of the Personal Care Home

before making its familiar journey down Main Street, turning east at Blazers, and finishing at Heritage Village. The route remains the same – intentionally so. For families who return to the same spot year after year, the consistency and planning is intentionally part of the charm.
