Should motorists have been driving down Highway 10 just north of Minnedosa on Friday, March 28, the colour of these blankets against a backdrop of dreary gray and winter white may have garnered attention. These horses aren’t commonly found draped in blankets, however, all thanks to the winter blast of snow, cold wind, and freezing mist, a little extra warmth was required.

It’s that time of year again… campfires, smores, and maybe a few bugs, too!
Campground reservations for your favourite spots in Manitoba’s provincial parks are opening soon.
Starting April 7, the Manitoba government invites residents to se-

cure their summer fun and make the most of the great outdoors.
Environment and Climate
Change Minister Mike Moyes announced that reservations will be available in stages, from April 7 to April 11.
“Spring is here, and Manitobans are looking forward to spending quality time in nature,” Moyes said. “This year, as Canadians
choose to explore closer to home, Manitoba’s provincial parks offer incredible destinations for adventure, relaxation, and discovery.
We’re excited to announce that park entry will be free for one year, making it even easier to enjoy our beautiful landscapes.”
To help everyone find their ideal camping spot, reservations will be released over a five-day span.
Campers are advised to get ready and be prepared, by checking their online accounts, updating passwords, and reviewing reservation rules.
According to the outlined information, the Parks Reservation Service also includes photos and descriptions of campsites, which gives everyone the tools they need
to pick their perfect outdoor experience.
Here’s the breakdown for when reservations open:
•April 7: All cabins, yurts, and group-use areas.
•April 8: Campsites at Birds Hill, Winnipeg Beach, and Grand Beach.
