arshall acquired a 50,000-squarefoot former Blue Cross office building at 4201 Town Center Blvd. two years ago with the intent of expanding medical services to a growing westward population. The project is nearly complete and Marshall El Dorado Hills, the new 25,000-squarefoot healthcare facility, is slated to open Aug. 25. The clinic will be open to all residents of El Dorado County and offers same-day primary care appointments and, in the case of a broken bone or fracture, is an alternative to seeking care at an emergency room. “The roots of Marshall Hospital are in Placerville but the county is changing and shifting farther west. Our long-standing mission is to provide care for the community and this westward expansion represents a continuation of our mission,” explained Marshall’s Chief Ambulatory Officer Jonathan Russell. “There’s a perception as we expand west that it means we’re neglect-

A state of the art X-ray machine, the General Electric Definium XR/f, offers care providers a lot of flexibility for patient height, size and varying degrees of mobility. EDHCSD grabs last slice of golf course Noel Stack Editor The southern portion of the old executive golf course in El Dorado Hills has a new owner. After years of meetings, public input and sometimes heated discussions, the El Dorado Hills Community Services District Board of Directors voted 3-1 to exercise the purchase option for the remaining 41.66 acres. Directors Heidi Hannaman, Michael Martinelli and Noelle Mattock supported the purchase from Serrano Associates LLC during a special July 23 meeting.
