t Bobby’s All Durabuilt Transmissions, Bobby Clark delivers experience, honesty and transparency in an industry where trust makes all the difference. Clark took over the business in 2021, adding his name to the shop after spending more than 25 years working there. Built in the late 1980s, All Durabuilt Transmissions shaped Clark’s career long before he became the owner. He credits his longevity in the trade to both passion and family influence. “I liked what I was doing, so I just kept doing it,” Clark said. “My family, they’ve all been mechanics their whole lives, so it was just a natural transition.” As a lifelong transmission specialist, Clark services most makes and models, handling everything from motorhomes to everyday commuter cars. He embraces the technical challenges that come with a constantly evolving automotive world and stays engaged by learning new technologies as they emerge. While his technical knowledge runs deep, Clark believes 2

strong customer relationships define his Placerville business. He takes the time to explain repairs clearly, knowing many customers lack in-depth knowledge of transmission work. That transparency helps clients make informed decisions about their vehicles. “Sometimes it’s cheaper to keep the car and repair it when you look in the long run,” Clark said. “You give them fair, quality information and they can choose to do what they like with it.” Clark’s approach has earned him glowing customer reviews, though he admits he rarely reads them. “People tell me I have good reviews and I just take their word for it,” he said. “I’d rather just focus on the interaction with the person who’s standing in my doorway.” Having lived and worked in the community his entire life, Clark treats customers like family. “In a way, I depend on them, and they depend on me,” he said.

Joe Enright

EDC Charter Special Education Local Plan Area Joe Enright grew up in El Dorado County, surrounded by family, learning early the value of patience, teamwork and persistence. Those qualities quietly followed him into adulthood and eventually into his role at the El Dorado County Office of Education. Joe plays a vital role in supporting special education services across California through his work with the El Dorado County Charter Special Education Local Plan Area. As a program technician in SELPA Business Services, Joe assists charter schools in navigating the highly complex requirements of state and federal special education data reporting. His work directly supports more than 450 charter SELPA schools, particularly during the demanding Fall 1 reporting period each December. Joe works closely with teachers, administrators and school data staff to provide technical assistance, training and step-by-step guidance for accurate CALPADS ◆ encounter data errors or compliance challenges, Joe is submissions. His ability to translate complicated reporting requirements into clear steps has made him a trusted resource for school staff across the state. Yield: 12 cupcakes 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened 1/2 cup Busy Bee Raw Honey 1 egg, lightly beaten 1/2 cup buttermilk, at room temperature 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Honey Cream Cheese Frosting: 8 ounces cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened 1/4 cup Busy Bee Raw Honey 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 4-6 cups powdered sugar Directions: Preheat oven to 350 F. Line 12 regular-size muffin cups with paper baking cups. In medium bowl, whisk flour, brown sugar, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and salt. In large bowl, using hand or stand mixer, beat softened butter and honey until smooth and slightly fluffy, 1-2 minutes. Beat in egg then mix in buttermilk and vanilla until combined. Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and stir gently until no streaks of flour remain; don’t overmix. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups, filling each about twothirds full. Bake 20-22 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center of cupcake comes out clean. Let cupcakes cool in pan about 5 minutes then transfer to wire rack to cool completely. To make frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy. Add honey and vanilla then gradually beat in powdered sugar until fluffy, spreadable and reaching desired sweetness. Equine When Winter Comes

Here are some tips so you’ll be know what to do when it gets cold and snowy. Start the winter season off right with these six practices every day: 1. Provide your horse with warm water. (45º to 65º F.) Clean the ice out of the water trough regularly to ensure that your horse has all the drinking water it needs. 2. Feed additional hay during extreme cold. A horse eats typically 2% of its weight in food. If a horse weighs 1,000 lbs, then it will consume 20 lbs. of food a day during the warmer period of the year. However, during the winter, the rate of food needed can increase to 3% for most horses (25-30%). 3. Make sure there is access to shelter. Your horse will want somewhere that it can retreat to get away from the snow and rain, somewhere it can stay dry and warm. 4. Perform regular hoof care. If your horse is out in the pasture all day, check its hooves several times a day to make sure no ice or snow clumps are building up. Lumps can cause significant pain and damage to a horse’s hoof. 5. Assess your horse’s body condition regularly. 6. Evaluate your stable’s stability and ventilation.

Proper winter horse care, including a diet rich in forage and providing protection from the cold and wet elements, is a great way to ensure your horse’s health and well-being during the winter months.
