State issues ‘safe eating’ fish advisories
FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Police Department presented a Purple Heart medal to K9 Cort during the annual Awards and Employee Recognition Ceremony. On April 20, 2022, Fairfield Police responded to reports that a man had broken into an elderly woman’s home. Ensuing calls to dispatch indicated that the suspect had also threatened to kill a delivery driver and take his delivery truck. FAIRFIELD — Anglers are reeling in big, fresh-looking silver-blue striped bass from the waters of the Solano County bays, tributaries and estuaries. Mike Cobb, of Fairfield, bagged a 10-pounder trolling in a private lake on a duck club in the Suisun Marsh – a body of water fed by one of the many sloughs that run through the area. “And you can catch a lot of fish like that in the Delta,” Cobb said about trolling with lures such as the “Sassy Shad.” He said he does not eat the fish, but does give the fillets away to friends.
