SUISUN VALLEY â The historic Gomer Schoolâs parking lot was transformed Saturday into a holiday crafts fair as the Vendors in the Vines Market brought dozens of festive families to Suisun Valley. The event was a place to find one-of-a-kind holiday gifts but it was also a fundraiser for the Suisun Fire INSIDE Protection District. SUISUN VALLEY â It was busier at the Farmerâs Closet for Small Business Saturday than Santaâs workshop. The thriving business moved into the old Gomer School building on Abernathy Road in May and has proven to be another success for the âlifestyle boutique.â Owners and sisters Lacy DeQuattro and Amber Blanc started their business out of their home in 2016, going full-bore in 2017 as momentum grew. They initially started it to honor their mother, âCowboy Nonie,â after she succumbed to cancer. As the business grew, they added two stores â Fairfield in 2018 and then one in Winters â and even an app. Their store in Winters remains but they moved their Fairfield location to the historic Gomer School in Suisun Valley. The historic oneroom âlittle redâ schoolhouse, built in 1900, is a perfect fit for their down-home country aesthetic. It took some time for the building to find the right leasers, having sat vacant for a few years after being sold in 2010. But the sisters tip their hat to its history by showcasing old photos of its students. Blanc and DeQuattro have See Closet, Page A12

FAIRFIELD â Jelly Belly has been kicking off the holiday season in the city for 21 years with a festive tree-lighting. The 32-foot tree was set up a few days ago, the parade route mapped and the candy factory decorated for Christmas. Hundreds came out Saturday to see the tree light up. Aaron and Kori Damm of Vallejo brought their two daughters, Georgia, 10 months, and Hollis, 4, to walk in the parade as part of the Solano County Pageant. âComing to the tree lighting has become a tradition,â Kori Damm said. âHolly was in the parade when she was 1 year old.â They missed the parade See Season, Page A12
