Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes of your benefits? At Micro Center, managing our health plan is a yearround priority. As you know, Micro Center is self-funded. This means that every time you fill a prescription, the cost is paid directly by Micro Center, not by UHC. Because we are responsible for these costs, we work tirelessly to find "hidden" savings that keep your monthly premiums and copays as low as possible.
Ongoing Plan Reviews: We consistently review our medication data and reach out to our benefit partners to discuss opportunities for improvement. For example, if a high-cost medication has a newer, more affordable equivalent (like a Biosimilar), we discuss with our partners how to effectively incorporate those options into our plan.
Benchmarking Against the Market: We compare our plan’s performance against industry standards and national averages. This allows us to have informed discussions with our partners to ensure Micro Center is receiving a fair and sustainable deal.
Monitoring New Savings Programs: We are continuously monitoring the evolving landscape of prescription programs. This includes discussing new "Direct-to-Consumer" models—such as TrumpRx, Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus Drugs, and GoodRx —with our partners to see if they can provide additional value for our associates.
To illustrate why this work is so important, here is a look at what the plan pays for a couple common medications compared to what you pay at the pharmacy:
Medication: Repatha Sureclick
Your Average Copay – $43 75
Micro Center Pays (Avg ) – $848 24
Medication: Aimovig
Your Average Copay – $30 00
Micro Center Pays (Avg ) – $720 20
Note: Your specific copay may vary slightly based on whether you are enrolled in the Bronze or Gold plan.
By staying proactive and finding smarter ways to source these medications, we ensure our plan remains sustainable for the long term. When we find a way to lower costs without sacrificing the quality of your care, everybody wins.
At Micro Center, we want you to have the medications you need at the most affordable price While our UHC plan is our primary tool, 2026 has introduced new ways to bypass traditional insurance markups.
We are now auditing high-cost prescriptions against these key platforms:
Cost Plus Drugs: Offers generics at the actual cost plus a flat 15% markup.
TrumpRx: A new federal portal for deep discounts on brand-name and specialty drugs
GoodRx: Finds the best "cash price" at local pharmacies
Review the Internet for Pricing: Is there another source? We encourage you to check. Before your next refill, use the internet to compare prices on these platforms. You might find that the "cash price" is actually lower than your insurance copay.
What you can do: Next time you’re at the pharmacy, simply ask: "Is the cash price for this medication lower than my insurance copay?" Finding these savings helps us keep the plan sustainable and your costs predictable.

“Yesterday was the best day of my life!”
That was Isaiah’s reaction after his Make-AWish visit to our Denver store Isaiah’s wish was to spend the day immersed in technology, and the Denver team ensured the experience was unforgettable. To help him start his journey as a gamer, the team gifted Isaiah his very first gaming rig a PowerSpec G456.
As he filled his cart with accessories, Isaiah’s mother shared that every staff member they encountered was wonderful. This is a powerful reminder of the unparalleled impact our associates have on our community. We are incredibly proud of the Denver team for their passion and heart in making Isaiah's dream come true.

Our Home Office team hit a "home run" for Hearts and Paws! Effective time management is a vital skill for achieving success in any professional setting. Time Management is the competency that involves organizing and planning how to allocate time effectively across tasks and responsibilities, ensuring that high-priority work is completed efficiently.
Time Management is the ability to use your time effectively and productively, balancing competing demands and avoiding distractions. It involves planning, prioritizing, and managing your workload to ensure that tasks are completed on time, without compromising quality. Professionals with strong time management skills can meet deadlines, reduce stress, and stay focused on important work.
In a world where tasks are constantly piling up and priorities shift rapidly, effective time management is essential to prevent burnout and maintain high performance. By mastering this competency, you can ensure that you focus on the right activities, deliver on commitments, and remain organized even when juggling multiple projects.
How to Improve Time Management:
1.Plan Ahead: Take time at the beginning of each day or week to plan your tasks. Use tools like to-do lists or calendars to organize your activities and set clear goals
2 Prioritize Tasks: Focus on high-priority tasks that align with your goals and have the most significant impact Don’t get caught up in less important, timeconsuming tasks
3 Avoid Multitasking: While it might seem efficient, multitasking can often reduce the quality of your work Focus on one task at a time for better results and quicker completion
4 Set Time Limits: Allocate specific time blocks for each task and stick to them This helps prevent tasks from dragging on and ensures you stay on track
5 Take Breaks: Schedule regular breaks to recharge Taking short pauses throughout the day can boost productivity and prevent mental fatigue
Time management is key to working smarter, not harder By planning ahead, prioritizing your tasks, and setting boundaries on how you spend your time, you can significantly improve your productivity and achieve your goals with less stress Mastering time management will help you make the most of your day and ensure you stay focused on what matters most
