Well, it certainly has been an extremely cold and snowy winter for this area! It is not often that Wilson sees two winter storms in a matter of 7 days. I am thankful that it is behind us now and we can get back to some sort of routine with the maintenance of the course for the sake of the crew as well as our golfing members.
To this point we have finished all the tree cutting for the season, ground the stumps, and cleaned that up along with hauling off the logs and the debris that could not be chipped. The crew has also trimmed all the crepe myrtles on the property. We spent the frigid days in the shop painting the course amenities, and we expanded the breakroom a bit so that all the staff could sit in there for lunch as well as our safety meetings. With the chilly weather and the few snow/ice events we had, it seemed like it dragged on forever. Regardless, we made the best of it and made a vast improvement in our facility.
Looking forward, we will be sodding some areas on the course as well as replacing some sections of cart paths. We will be replacing the fan on the 13th green with a larger fan also. This will increase the airflow on that green as well as limit the amount of maintenance on the fan for that green. That is the oldest fan on the course, and, at this point, it is over 20 years old. In more recent years it has become a constant battle to keep it going
I hope to see you all around the course soon!
Regards,
Craig Clemmer Wilson Country Club Superintendent

Life gets busy Work, kids, appointments, and everything in between It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and put yourself last. I see it all the time. People feel like if they can’t fully commit, it’s not worth starting at all But it doesn’t have to be all or nothing
Taking care of your body can start small. A little movement, a little stretching, a little strength It all counts You don’t have to do everything perfectly or have a full routine right away Starting somewhere is always better than not starting Your body needs consistency, not intensity.

With work on the Black 9 now complete, the renovation project at Cobblestone Golf Club has shifted to the Garnet 9 All bunkers will be rebuilt with Capillary Concrete liners and new sand, accompanied by subtle shaping to improve drainage and minimize washouts. The project also includes the installation of new concrete cart paths, selective rerouting for improved playability, and tree removal as needed to protect the new infrastructure.
The 2019 Perry’s Blend is a beautifully crafted Bordeaux-style Napa Valley red from Juslyn Vineyards, showcasing the intensity that defines the Spring Mountain District Juslyn Vineyards was founded by Perry and Carolyn Butler in 1997 after they left the tech world to pursue their passion for winemaking Their vineyard sits high above Napa Valley, where cooler mountain temperatures help create wines with great depth and character They focus on small-lot production and hands-on care, apparent in every bottle.
Bright red cherry and black currant lead the way, layered with hints of spice and subtle oak. Silky, polished tannins give the wine a graceful structure, while its supple texture and balanced acidity carry through to a long, lingering finish The result is a wine that is both powerful and refined equally suited for savoring now or pairing with a memorable meal. “As a child, Shirley Jones, who was an employee at my father’s hardware store, would make these delicious Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies My brothers and I always appreciated these treats because chocolate chips were used instead of raisins Still today, I remember these cookies and my brothers and I trying to sneak them so the other staff members wouldn’t see.” - Greg Lyons

“This cookie brings back so many memories from my childhood My favorite thing to do was tag along with my dad on his trips to the hardware store or the hardwood store. We walked everywhere since we didn’t own a car, and by the time we were done shopping, we would stop at the convenience store and each get a 7-Up and a pack of Polvorones I really wish I could freeze time or go back to when things were simpler.” - Joaquin Campos
