CLUB UPDATES Dear Members, I hope you and your families had a wonderful holiday season and are off to a great start to the new year. As we turn the page, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what an exciting and successful year 2025 was. One of the highlights of the year was our continued membership growth, with a net increase of 106 memberships. This growth is a testament to the quality of our golf course and facilities, as well as the continued support and engagement of our community. We were also proud to be recognized with the Gold ranking in the state and named Raleigh’s Best 2025 for Things to Do: Golf Course. In addition, we made several enhancements to our facilities throughout 2025, including the addition of new pickleball courts, updated pool furniture, and new outdoor patio furnishings—improvements designed to make your time at the club even more enjoyable and comfortable. From a programming standpoint, the year was filled with memorable moments. Our Member-Guest event was a tremendous success and continues to be a signature experience at Treyburn. Familyfriendly events such as our Halloween Spooktacular, Santa Brunch, and Polar Express were seasonal highlights and a wonderful reminder of how special Treyburn is during the holidays. None of this success would be possible without our outstanding team. We are proud to recognize our Employees of the Year for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to service. Their efforts truly embody the spirit of Treyburn. Please join us in congratulating: JR Elliott, nominated on Friday, September 5. Krishauna Council, nominated on Friday, November 21. We are currently working with our interior design team to develop concepts for new carpet, paint, and furniture in the Kenan Room. While a schedule has not yet been finalized, we anticipate this work taking place during the second quarter of the year.

Additionally, our aging fire sprinkler system is scheduled for replacement, with work beginning the first week of January. To complete a portion of this project, the main floor of the clubhouse will be closed from January 5–8, with additional work continuing throughout January and February. We will continue to keep you informed should this project impact club operations. We also plan to pour a new concrete pathway from the parking lot to the fitness entrance and add outdoor lighting to better illuminate the walking path. TREYBURN GOLF NEWS Happy New Year, Treyburn Members! It won’t be long before the golf season is back in full swing. The Treyburn Professional Staff has been hard at work finalizing the 2026 Member Golf Calendar, and members will soon be receiving the McConnell Golf calendar booklet. This booklet includes a complete schedule of events and important dates, allowing you to plan ahead and mark your calendars for the events you’d like to enjoy throughout the season. The club experienced tremendous growth in 2025, and it has been wonderful to see so many new members—and their families—actively utilizing the club. In the coming year, the Professional Staff will continue refining our programs and events to further elevate the overall member experience. If you, your spouse, or your children are interested in learning the game or improving your skills, we encourage you to reach out to myself or any member of the Treyburn Professional Staff. We would be happy to discuss our various instructional programs and offerings. Additionally, we are always glad to help answer some of the most commonly asked questions! We are also excited to announce the completion of our new Indoor Simulator Room, conveniently located in the cart barn. This state-of-the-art space is equipped with a Uneekor launch monitor, a 4K projector, and highperformance technology designed to provide an exceptional indoor golf experience. The simulator will allow members to enjoy indoor lessons, club fittings, and even full rounds of golf—regardless of the weather. On the course, Mark Snell and his staff did an outstanding job this fall clearing fallen leaves and will continue their work by removing select trees to improve playability. The maintenance team is fully focused on having the course in excellent condition for our first events in March. We have seen more ball marks and unraked bunkers than ever before. We need your help in keeping the course in prime condition year-round. We ask that you keep those playing in your groups accountable the next time they forget to pick up a rake or pull out a divot repair tool. If you have questions about proper course etiquette—such as repairing divots, raking bunkers, or fixing ball marks—our staff is always happy to demonstrate the correct techniques. Taking care of these small details makes a significant difference in the experience for everyone who plays behind you. Thank you for doing your part to keep Treyburn in top condition. WHAT’S NEW IN THE NEW YEAR? COURSE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS IN 2026 Cobblestone Golf Club: Beginning in Fall 2025, Cobblestone Golf Club will undergo a major renovation on the Black 9 course, rebuilding all bunkers with Capillary Concrete liners and new sand, improving drainage, and installing new concrete cart paths with select rerouting and tree removal. The same work will follow on the Garnet 9 course, with completion targeted for Spring 2026. During construction, the nine holes under renovation will be closed. The Water’s Edge Country Club: After Memorial Day, The Water’s Edge will close the course to convert all bentgrass fairways and tees to Bermudagrass, with a 10–12 week grow-in and a planned reopening by Labor Day. The club will also begin practice facility upgrades, including a redesigned first hole, a relocated putting green, and an expanded driving range tee near the clubhouse. These enhancements will elevate the overall golf experience and position the club for long-term success.

JOHN MCCONNELL HONORED WITH INAUGURAL KORN FERRY TOUR “BEYOND THE GREEN” AWARD On December 11, John McConnell was recognized by the Korn Ferry Tour as the inaugural recipient of its new “Beyond the Green” Award during the tour’s annual tournament meetings at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The award was created to recognize an individual whose impact on the Tour extends beyond tournament operations—someone who leads with integrity, supports collaboration, and consistently elevates the experience for players, partners, and communities.
