SUMMER CAMP RECAP

RCC Activity RCC Activity Camps Camps 2026 2026 RCC Families, As another unforgettable summer comes to an end, I want to extend a big thank you to all of our campers and families for making the 2026 RCC Summer Camp season such a success. It has been an absolute pleasure spending the summer with your children and watching them learn, laugh, explore, and create lasting friendships along the way. From friendly competition during Game On to hands-on fun in Pokémon LEGO, Flavor Explorers, Beach Week, Art Explosion, Animal Planet, The Great Summer Bash, and our RCC Summer Camp Add-On, each week brought its own unique adventures and memories. We are so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your family’s summer traditions. Thank you for your support, trust, and for sharing your amazing children with us. Their energy, creativity, and enthusiasm are what make RCC Summer Camps such a special experience year after year. A summer this successful would not have been possible without our incredible camp staff. A huge thank you to our outstanding activity leaders—Lauren, Ari, Libby, Sidney, Ellie, Emma, Ainsley, and our first male counselor, Evan—for their hard work, dedication, and positive attitudes throughout the summer. Their enthusiasm, patience, and commitment helped make each week memorable for our campers and ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We have included a few favorite photos below to help relive some of the highlights from this summer. We hope you enjoy looking back on these memories as much as we have! Thank you again for an amazing summer. We wish everyone a wonderful school year ahead and look forward to welcoming campers back for more summer fun in 2027! Kaylen Garrison Activities Director

TEE IT UP A NOTE FROM ROCKY When I was first asked to come to Raleigh Country Club as your Director of Golf, I knew I was joining one of the premier clubs in the state. After my first three months at RCC, that reputation has only been reinforced. I have been impressed by the pride our members take in the Club and the care shown for our golf course and facilities. That said, maintaining the standard expected at a club like Raleigh Country Club requires all of us to do our part—and there is always room to get better. Below, I’ve included an article from last year’s newsletter highlighting a few simple ways our members and guests can help us protect the golf course, enhance the experience for everyone, and uphold the standards that make RCC special. Calling RCC one of the premier clubs in the state isn’t meant to sound elitist—it reflects the reputation this Club has earned and the standard we intend to maintain. We are proud of that reputation, and we have no intention of lowering the bar.

Rocky Brooks, PGA, Director of Golf

To ensure our golf course remains in the condition we all enjoy and expect, we ask our members and their guests to do their part by following the routine course-care practices expected of all golfers. Below are three simple golf etiquette practices that make a meaningful difference. With everyone’s help caring for our bunkers, greens, and fairways, we can continue to provide the excellent daily conditions that define the RCC experience.

Please enter bunkers from the low side and smoothly rake all areas disturbed by your shot and footprints before exiting from the same low side. On the greens, repair your ball mark as well as any others you may see. In the fairways, please fill divots using the sand bottles provided on carts and at sand-bottle stations throughout the course. As members of Raleigh Country Club, we share an expectation that members, dependents, and guests adhere to the Club’s dress code. Anyone not in proper attire on the golf course or practice facilities will be asked to leave the golf areas and change before returning. Shirts must remain tucked in, and hats must be worn facing forward at all times while on the course and practice facilities. Pace of play is an important part of everyone’s enjoyment of the game. Please do your part by playing ready golf and keeping pace with the group in front of you. Our team will continue to monitor pace of play on the course. If we identify a consistent pattern of slow play, we may recommend later tee times or, when necessary, restrict access to early tee times that are important to keeping the day moving efficiently. Rocky Brooks, PGA Director of Golf

INSIDE MCCONNELL GOLF

SEDGEFIELD COUNTRY CLUB SECURES PLACE IN PGA TOUR’S NEW CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES One of the PGA TOUR’s longest-running relationships will continue into a new era as Sedgefield Country Club remains home to Greensboro’s PGA TOUR event. Beginning in 2028, the tournament will become part of the new PGA TOUR Championship Series, with Raymond James serving as title sponsor. The event will be contested as a full-field PGA TOUR event in 2027 before transitioning to the Championship Series. Founded in 1938 as the Greater Greensboro Open, the tournament has been won by legends including Sam Snead, Byron Nelson and Ben Hogan, with Sedgefield hosting the event more than 40 times. After a 31-year absence, the PGA TOUR returned to Sedgefield in 2008 following the restoration of its Donald Ross-designed course, and McConnell Golf acquired the club in 2011. The announcement ensures Sedgefield will remain on one of golf’s biggest stages as the PGA TOUR enters its next era. In 2028, the Greensboro event will celebrate its 90th anniversary, bringing its remarkable history full circle.
