ULTE TURF PREMIUM HITTING MATS

Porters Neck now features ULTE Turf premium hitting mats, designed to replicate real fairway conditions - allowing golfers to hit down through the ball with true feel and feedback Practice just got more realistic! At Porters Neck

⛳ 14 hitting stations

⛳ Collar + Fairway lengths

⛳ Real tees allowed on fairway mats

About ULTE Turf Mats:

ULTIMATE (or ULTE) Turf mats for driving ranges offer a realistic, durable hitting surface, often featuring thick artificial turf (like 35mm) and a shock-absorbing rubber base (like 10mm EVA) to mimic real fairway conditions, allowing for proper ball striking, including hitting down through the ball and even getting backspin, unlike thinner mats that can hide mishits by letting the club bounce through.

These premium mats aim to bridge the gap between range practice and on-course performance, providing a stable, consistent feel for all shot types.

Why Golfers Use Them

To practice a more authentic strike, including hitting down on the ball.

To develop better low-point control, leading to improved oncourse performance.

POST | GOLF NEWS

Why Golfers Use Them Cont’d

To experience real spin and feel, even with irons

As a high-quality, durable alternative to natural grass tee lines

KeyCharacteristicsofULTETurfMats:

Realistic Feel: Designed with dense, high-pile artificial turf (often nylon or polyethylene) to simulate fairway/tee conditions

Dual-Zone Construction: Some feature a support "root zone" and a softer "grass zone" for better club interaction.

Shock Absorption: Thick EVA rubber bases cushion impact and reduce vibration, providing golfer comfort

Stable & Durable: Heavy-duty construction prevents slipping and wear, ensuring longevity

Allows for Real Feedback: Promotes hitting down and through the ball, penalizing "fat" shots like real grass, unlike cheaper mats that can mask mistakes.

Versatile Teeing: Some designs allow for the use of standard wooden tees, offering varied heights, while others have integrated tee holes

All-Weather Use: Made to withstand various conditions, making them suitable for year-round practice

REPAIRING BALLMARKS

& Replacing Divots

As a member and a golfer, we have certain responsibilities that can help preserve the course for all that follow One example of caring for the course is to repair your ball marks – the depression made when your ball hits the green When an individual repairs his or her ball marks, the result is a better conditioned golf course All golfers are responsible for repairing their marks, no matter what level of play, and it only takes a few seconds.

Every player should fill in their divots in the fairway. This time of year when the grass is dormant is a time that is really important to fill in your divots. When the grass begins to grow, the grass will fill in the sanded divots and create a smoother more consistent surface

Here are some general rules of thumb for golfers on how to correctly repair a ball mark.

1.Use a pronged ball mark repair tool or tee.

2.Insert at the edges of the mark – not the middle of the depression

3 Bring the edges together, trying not to tear the grass, and then loosen the underlying soil so that the turf is able to root easily

4 Smooth the surface with a club or foot You’re done when it’s a surface you would putt over

Bunker Etiquette

1 Please enter and exit the bunkers at the lowest point. This may not be near your ball, but this helps with minimizing deep footprints. This procedure should always be used when in a bunker

2 Please leave the rake outside of the bunker, preferably in an area that will not affect play

3 PLEASE RAKE THE BUNKER BEFORE EXITING
