CLUB UPDATE A MESSAGE FROM YOUR GENERAL MANAGER Winter at Old North State Club: North Carolina’s Seasonal Charm Dear Members, I hope everyone had a truly magical holiday season. It was wonderful to see so many of our members and their families attend the Tree Lighting, Santa Brunch, Wine Expo, Tough Day, and Christmas Party. We hope you enjoyed these events as much as our team enjoyed planning and bringing them to life. Happy New Year!! It is hard to believe that 2025 is now in the rearview mirror. Throughout the year, we were fortunate to invest capital into several important projects and improvements, including new terrace furniture, custom wine lockers, updated culinary and bar equipment, renovations to one of the marina docks, and the installation of the new driving range mat Tee Line. Capital requests have already been submitted for this year, and we are hopeful to continue making meaningful improvements throughout the Club. Looking ahead, Skylar, Chef Kris, Lisa, and I are excited to begin planning a variety of events for 2026. We hope you will join us and support their creative ideas. As always, events will be available to view and reserve online. Please note that the 48-hour cancellation policy will continue to apply to select events. Due to the strong attendance and growing interest in our Holiday Weekend Celebrations, we plan to increase seating so more members can enjoy these occasions. Chef Kris and I will also continue planning wine dinners and tastings. We are currently exploring opportunities with several vineyards that may be able to bring their winemaker for a special event. The Wine Expo was a tremendous success and very well received by our membership. We are also working to secure a date for another Buffalo Trace event. I look forward to seeing everyone around the Club in the new year!
Cheers, David M. Wilson General Manager
AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM YOUR GENERAL MANAGER We are excited to officially welcome Sarah Sifford to the Old North State Club team as our new Communications Coordinator! Sarah joined our team as a server and quickly distinguished herself through her professionalism, attention to detail, creativity, and strong connection with our membership. Her ability to learn, lead, and consistently go above and beyond made her a natural fit for this role, and we are thrilled to support her continued growth within the Club. In her new position, Sarah will be overseeing member communications and helping to enhance how we share information, events, and updates with you. Over the coming weeks, you will begin to see a transition in Club communications coming directly from Sarah as she works to ensure messaging is timely, clear, and engaging. Please join us in congratulating her as she steps into this new role. Should you need to reach her, Sarah can be contacted at communications@oldnorthstateclub.com. We look forward to all that Sarah will bring to the role and the continued growth of our communications program.

A MESSAGE FROM YOUR CATERING & EVENTS MANAGER I am so excited to kick off the new year and share all the amazing experiences we have planned for our members! From lively social events to intimate wine dinners and everything in between, 2026 is shaping up to be full of celebrations, connection, and memorable moments. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping our community come together, celebrate life’s milestones, and create memories that last long after the evening ends. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping our members bring their visions to life — whether it’s a private party, a catered event, or an intimate dinner for family and friends. There’s something truly special about being part of those moments where joy, laughter, and celebration come together, and I feel so fortunate to create experiences that our members will remember for years to come. Thinking about hosting a private dinner, family celebration, or other special event? I would be delighted to help bring your vision to life. Contact me at catering@oldnorthstateclub.com to begin planning. There’s so much to look forward to this year, and I can’t wait to celebrate alongside all of you!
Skylar Yon Catering & Events Manager
FROM THE KITCHEN A MESSAGE FROM YOUR EXECUTIVE CHEF I would like to sincerely thank our membership for the continued support you have shown to my team. Your enthusiasm and encouragement mean a great deal to us, and we truly enjoy creating memorable dining experiences for you. We have several fun and exciting events coming up, and I am especially looking forward to the new year and the opportunity to introduce new ideas and offerings. In January, we will be hosting a wine seminar in partnership with 3 Keys Distributing. The seminar will be led by owner Woody French, whom I have had the pleasure of working with for many years. Woody brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for wine, and the theme of the evening will be “Some of the Best Wines You’ve Never Heard Of.” It promises to be both informative and a lot of fun. Valentine’s Day this year will feature a special Wine Dinner, including a five-course menu with thoughtfully paired wines for each course—an evening designed to be both intimate and memorable. For the month of January, our seafood theme will highlight a Calabash-style menu, featuring classic Calabash dishes and traditional sides. As we approach spring, we will also be refreshing the menu toward the end of February, and we are excited to share these seasonal updates with you.
Kris Dietrick Executive Chef
Thank you again for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing you at the Club.

The Golf Shop Balloon Sale saw record attendance and sales. Your generosity is much appreciated! We will continue to carry merchandise from Rhoback and Onward Reserve that debuted at the sale. Tough Day also set a new participation record with 25 foursomes on December 13. Some impressive scores were posted! We will be adding a 1-day M-G tough day in the summer of 2026! As always, please let us know if there is any way we can enhance your golf experience at ONSC. Stop in the Golf Shop to say hello during these winter months and thank you again for all the support in 2025!
See you soon! Justin Mathers, PGA Director of Golf
A MESSAGE FROM YOUR COURSE SUPERINTENDENT As we move through the winter months, our focus remains on protecting the golf course during periods of colder weather. With limited turf growth this time of year, playing surfaces are more sensitive to traffic and changing conditions. You may notice temporary adjustments to course setup or occasional restrictions during winter weather. These measures are put in place to protect the course and support healthy conditions as we transition toward spring. While winter conditions can vary day to day, each decision is made with the long-term quality of the course in mind. We appreciate your patience and cooperation throughout the winter season and look forward to delivering strong playing conditions as the growing season returns.
Best Regards, Chris Chapman Golf Course Superintendent

Want to move up to 3.5/4.0 level pickleball? If you have the fundamental skills like dinking, dropping, attacking, and defending, what’s next? “Consistency” in these fundamentals for longer rallies is key, so proper drilling is important. Another factor is “shot selection” to “create” pressure on the opponents. That means playing smarter, cleaner and with more intention on every shot. You no longer are simply reacting to most of your opponent's shots, but rather dictating more of what they are able to do with your shot. Learn to “set up” more returns for your playing partner (or yourself)! Contact me for drilling sessions to improve your execution of shots or set up a ‘Three and Me” playing session for strategy development. Happy Pickling! MASSAGE THERAPY Contact your therapist directly to schedule your time of bliss with our certified massage therapist. Crystal Forrest: (704) 984-2553 Tiffany Wright Scaplen: (336) 541-6954 Interval cardio training becomes especially valuable as we age because it delivers powerful cardiovascular and metabolic benefits without requiring long, punishing workouts. In an indoor cycle class, intervals allow you to safely elevate your heart rate in short bursts, improving heart health, insulin sensitivity, and aerobic capacity while minimizing wear and tear on the joints. Because cycling is low-impact, it protects the knees, hips, and ankles while still strengthening the muscles that support them. Interval training also helps preserve muscle mass, boost fat-burning, and improve stamina for everyday activities—making it an efficient, jointfriendly way to stay strong, energized, and resilient as we get older. Please join us beginning January 27th for our first indoor cycle class. It will be a short 30 minute class and I promise it will be fun. All levels are welcome, as you can go at your own pace and rest when you need to rest. I will also show you how to set up your seat, handlebars, and how to adjust your gear. I hope to see you there.
Dates: Crystal: January 24, February 14 Tiffany: January 10, February 21, March 14
MASSAGE THERAPY RATES Rates are the same for all therapists and basic massage types. Extra charges may be incurred for specialty massages at therapist’s discretion. Rates will be charged to your member account. RECREATIONAL NEWS MAIN GYM RENOVATIONS COMING SOON! We are always on the lookout for ways to enhance member experiences here at Old North State Club. Later this spring, you will see a nice upgrade to our main gym. In the past two years, we’ve seen our group fitness room get new floors, paint, lighting, and fixtures. Now it’s time to give a facelift to the main room. Likely beginning in March/April, we will be closing the gym for a short time to install some updated cardio machines and storage pieces loaded with new equipment. In addition, the gym will receive a more inviting paint color, brighter lighting, and larger industrial sized fans to help keep you regulated while you break a sweat. Staying cool is getting even more convenient, as we will be installing a water fountain equipped with a hygienic bottle filling station

RECREATIONAL NEWS A NOTE FROM YOUR DOCKMASTER I hope everyone had a happy holiday season and a wonderful Christmas! With nighttime temperatures dropping below freezing and more cold weather on the way, it is safe to say that boating season has come to an end until spring. With these freezing temperatures, please be sure that your boats and PWCs are properly winterized. There is nothing worse than preparing for the new season only to discover a damaged engine or lower unit due to freezing. If you have not yet scheduled winterization, please do so as soon as possible so we can ensure your vessel is protected and avoid any unnecessary damage. Now is also the perfect time to address any maintenance or repair issues that may have arisen during the summer. Please give us a call, and we will be happy to take care of these items before spring arrives—or feel free to contact a service provider of your choice. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the marina at 336-461-4456. Thank you and have a blessed day from all of us at Old North State Marina.
