Dear Members,
Spring has officially arrived, and it’s been such a wonderful start to the season here at Country Club of Asheville. Thank you to our Members and our incredible staff for helping create such a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.
With spring aerification now behind us, I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to Sean Baskette, our Golf Course Superintendent, and the entire grounds team for their dedication and hard work. The course is already beginning to green up beautifully, and it’s a testament to their efforts.
I’m also grateful to all of our departments for their continued focus on delivering an exceptional membership experience, and to all of you who have joined us at recent events Your participation truly brings the Club to life
There’s so much to look forward to in the coming weeks: golf in full swing, tennis transitioning to the outdoor courts, the pool opening in May, exciting kids camps, new fitness and wellness enhancements, and a full lineup of delicious Food & Beverage offerings.
Thank you again for being such an important part of our community We look forward to enjoying this beautiful season together!
Warmly,

JD Trueblood General Manager

What a great start to the 2026 golfing season March and April brought excellent weather, which not only made for enjoyable golf but also helped the course transition smoothly out of winter dormancy If there has been one challenge, it has been the lack of rainfall dating back to October of last year. On the positive side, these dry conditions have allowed us to identify and address several irrigation issues before we head into the summer heat.
As we move into the summer months, our focus is on ensuring the turf is as healthy as possible before the stress of high temperatures sets in This includes additional topdressing on greens, tees, and approaches, spot needle-tine aerification, and targeted fertility applications on tees, approaches, and other high-traffic areas.
This year, we are also making a concerted effort to improve cart path areas, particularly around greens and tees We have begun removing curbing that is no longer functional or has deteriorated Similar to the improvements completed around the 3rd and 12th tee complexes this winter, we will continue adding soil and seed to these areas to promote a cleaner, more refined appearance. One of the most helpful things members can do is ensure that all four tires remain on the path when exiting with a cart.
Warm regards,
Sean K. Baskette Golf Course Superintendent Country Club of Asheville
Our tennis program is ready to welcome the outdoor season, with the clay courts set for another year of great play, friendly competition, and time well spent on the court Whether you’re joining a match, a clinic, or simply enjoying a rally with friends, it’s a special time to be out there and we’re excited to see the courts come to life again As a quick reminder, to help preserve the quality of our clay surfaces, shoes with rough or aggressive tread such as hiking shoes are not permitted We truly appreciate everyone’s care in keeping the courts in great shape, and we can’t wait to see you out there this season

Directions:
1.In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt until combined. In a large bowl, using a handheld mixer on medium-high speed, beat butter and peanut butter until smooth Add brown sugar and granulated sugar and beat until creamy Add egg and vanilla and beat until combined Add dry ingredients and beat on medium speed until just combined

2 Using a medium (about 2 tablespoons) cookie scoop, scoop out dough Press your thumb into the center to create a deep hole. Spoon 1 scant teaspoon jam into hole.
