Course Update – Looking Ahead to Fall

As summer winds down, we wanted to share a quick update on the course and what’s ahead this fall

It was a hot summer, and with the added challenge of afternoon thundershowers, our Golf Course Management team has been working diligently to manage heat stress, moisture levels, and keep up with regular maintenance. Despite the tough conditions, the course held up well overall Over the coming months, we’ll shift our focus to recovery and implement strategies to ensure strong, healthy turfgrass heading into next season

September Aerification

In September, we’ll begin aerification work While this may cause some short-term disruption, it’s an essential process for long-term turf health Aerification helps relieve soil compaction, reduce thatch, stimulate root growth, and improve water and nutrient absorption into the turf.

Rough Overseeding Program

We’ll also begin our fall overseeding in the roughs The new varieties of rough grass seed we’re using are more tolerant to heat, drought, and traffic. Our primary focus areas include the green perimeters and zones where bentgrass has become dominant (such as the right side of Hole 5). This overseeding, combined with our fall fertilization and soil amendments, will help promote denser, healthier turf and enhance playing conditions going into next season

We appreciate your continued support and understanding as we carry out these important maintenance efforts. Our goal is always to provide the best playing surfaces possible and with your help, we’re on the right track

A Few Friendly Reminders:

Please replace your divots

Repair your ball marks and one other if you can

Walkers: Be mindful of high-traffic areas, especially between greens and bunkers

These small habits make a big difference.

See you on the course!
