Porters Neck Parents & Junior Golfers

From the Golf Staff at Porters Neck Country Club, we would like to welcome you to the Junior Golfer Program of 2026! Our goal is create an interesting yet exciting golf atmosphere, while teaching life long skills that translate both on and off the golf course. This program will be a fun and active learning environment for your juniors. While this is an athletic program we will also cover the importance of sportsmanship, golf etiquette and golf course maintenance

Golf is a fabulous game that can be enjoyed by every skill level. It is also one of the few sports that can truly last a lifetime. I am sure some of your favorite memories associated with golf will and have been those times shared on the course with family. We look forward to helping your children grow and mature as athletes and young adults through the great game of golf.

Mission

Statement

Our goal as golf professionals is to grow the game of golf. The mission of our Junior Golf Program at Porters Neck CC is to teach your children all aspects of the game of golf. We will provide a fun environment for the juniors while still keeping a focus on learning the skills and techniques required to build a great golf foundation. The core values of our program will also include the importance of sportsmanship and course etiquette

Safety

The safety of your children will always be first and foremost. At the beginning of each session we will cover the day’s itinerary as well as rules and safety. If there is ever an issue with a junior golfer concerning safety or health we will take the correct actions whether it includes sitting in the shade, sitting out an activity, heading back to the Golf Shop, or contacting the appropriate parent or guardian.

Please notify the golf professionals at the beginning of the program if there are any medical concerns, physical limitations, injuries, etc.

OPERATION 36 SPRING AND FALL

We are excited about this years Operation 36 programs Each season will consist of practice days and test days Each Wednesday will be a 1 hour and 30 minute coaching session run by PGA professionals Ryan, David and Derek The sessions will include but are not limited to putting, chipping, bunker play, full swing and on course education.

We will also have testing events on Saturdays to help monitor each junior's progress. The goal on test days is for the junior to beat or tie par (36) for the course from their current tee (skill level) in order to move further back to help develop their skills. Testing will be around 3pm on these select Saturdays.

These session are open to juniors ages 7-17. All skill levels are welcome. Cost will be $450 per junior.

PORTERS NECK JUNIOR LEAGUE

NEW! Porters Neck Junior League

June 10th through August 1st | Ages 8-15

We are excited to announce the NEW Porters Neck Junior League This league will focus on a fun and competitive team atmosphere where players learn new formats to be played on course! The season will run from Wednesday, June 10th through Saturday, August 1st Each Wednesday will be a 1 hour and 30 minute coaching session run by PGA professionals Ryan, David and Derek.

The sessions will include but are not limited to putting, chipping, bunker play, full swing, and on course education. Once we have our sign-ups filled we will make two teams. The Saturday Match days will include team formats such as, 2 player match play, 2 player scramble, team modified alternate shot and team stableford formats The players will learn how to work as a team during these fun formats

Cost will be $450 per junior. This fee includes all practices, all matches, all cart fees and NEW matching team swag! If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Golf Shop and speak with the Professional Staff. Sign-ups spaces are limited.

GOLF CLINICS

Junior Golf Clinics

November - March

Wednesdays | 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

These junior golf clinics are for all skill levels. These will be during the off months we don’t have Op36 classes or Junior League practices. Clinics may cover all aspects including putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play, irons, drivers and on course management and etiquette. The juniors will learn in a fun but structured environment. These group clinics will help any junior golfer learn to enjoy the game more!

Cost & Registration

The Golf Clinic is limited to 6 juniors. | Ages 6-13. $35 per junior.
