“ ” LEADERSHIP INSIGHTS

This team is executing at a high level, keeping people safe, & delivering on commitments.

Renewable Energy Team,

As we wrap up the first quarter of 2026, I want to first say thank you and acknowledge the excellent work this group continues to deliver. We are operating in a dynamic environment with shifting policy, tariff uncertainty, evolving client expectations, and we continue to maintain our focus on the visionary objectives within the AOP. With that backdrop, this team is executing at a high level, keeping people safe, delivering on commitments for our clients, and positioning McCarthy to lead in the energy market.

Over the last several months, we have continued to strengthen the fundamentals of the business: tighter alignment between pursuits and execution, disciplined planning around our national work program. We have also expanded internal partnerships with functional teams throughout the organization including talent acquisition, learning and development, HR business partners, and our 02S partners to drive consistency and better decisions. These are the kinds of integrated solutions that will help us achieve the developmental, growth and profitability targets we have set for 2026 and beyond.

This newsletter highlights just a sample of the work happening across the business unit; operations and safety updates, community outreach activities, prefab /field /craft stories, and key initiatives that will shape the rest of the year. As you read through it and think about the remainder of this year, I would ask that you stay focused on the following: continue to make safety the foundation of every decision, stay close to our clients and partners so we maintain our trusted relationships, be curious and don’t hesitate to ask questions or raise your hand for clarity or help.

Thank you for everything you are doing to make this a strong start to 2026 and for the way you represent McCarthy and our Renewable Energy team every day.

Dan

– Renewable Energy

In recent weeks, we've seen several near misses involving stored energy — including jacks, hydraulic pressure, and electrical systems. Stored energy continues to be one of the most significant contributors to Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) potential across our job sites. Much of the work we perform involves energy sources such as electrical systems, pressurized lines, suspended loads, mechanical tension, and hydraulic pressure. When these energy sources are not properly controlled, isolated, or verified, the consequences can be immediate and severe.

As leaders and builders, we must maintain a strong awareness of where energy exists and how it can be unexpectedly released. This starts during planning and continues through execution in the field. Verifying proper lockout/tagout procedures, ensuring equipment is fully de-energized, and confirming that residual energy has been released or controlled are critical steps that protect our people. These discussions should be part of our work planning, pre-task planning, and daily conversations in the field.

Reducing SIF exposure requires strong engagement, attention to detail, and the confidence to pause work when something doesn't feel right. When we strengthen our hazard recognition, reinforce energy control practices, and maintain open communication across our teams, we reduce risk and continue building a culture where safety is truly embedded in how we work.

Our ask this month is simple: slow down before interacting with equipment and verify energy isolation.

Stay safe,

Slow down before interacting with equipment and verify energy isolation.

PROJECT MILESTONES

MFAB/ Vantage AZ15

We achieved a major milestone with the successful delivery of McCarthy’s first-ever MFAB data center duct bank and stub-up racks to Vantage AZ15. This release showcases our ability to prefabricate complex electrical infrastructure and deliver it safely, accurately, and on schedule. The AZ15 team, MFAB, and project partners coordinated closely to align design, production, and field needs so the racks could be installed quickly once on site. This milestone sets a new benchmark for how we support data center work and opens the door for expanded MFAB solutions on future Vantage and McCarthy projects.

It’s been an “All In” effort

MEET THE VEM TEAM

VEM Team: Supporting Operations

“From

Today to Tomorrow”

CURRENT STATE:

VEM is becoming a key part of most RE projects, working closely with pre-construction, estimating, IPT partners, Equipment Pillar, and O2S Solution Centers.

Pre-Construction

•Align vegetation scope & contracts

•Plan and allocate equipment

•Set budget strategy Construction

•Conduct monthly check-ins & site visits

•Optimize equipment use

•Resolve issues & coordinate vendors

Closeout

•Off-rent and redeploy equipment

•Perform post-mortem analysis

•Apply lessons learned

The Vegetation Equipment Management (VEM) Program supports the Renewable Energy Business Unit by optimizing vegetation operations. It centralizes solutions to improve cost performance, increase use of company-owned equipment, and reduce risk through standardized practices and planning.

The VEM team works with project teams to ensure vegetation work is completed with the right equipment, at the right time, and with strong return on investment.

How We Support

The VEM team connects with projects through monthly check-ins and site visits to guide equipment use, seeding, budgeting, and performance. At project closeout, we join post-mortems to capture lessons learned and identify improvements. VEM helps streamline planning and keep vegetation work on track.
