Annual Prayer Guide
Faced with a world that desperately needs Jesus, we are called to a priestly vocation—to stand before God on behalf of that world, and cry out for mercy.
Prayer is not avoidance. It is not passivity. It is not the thin response of people who have nothing real to offer. Prayer is one of the deepest forms of participation available to us, because in prayer we refuse both delusion and despair. In prayer, we bring before God that which human power alone cannot mend. We pray because we know that history is not sealed off from the presence of God.
So we pray.
We pray for healing for the mourners, the wounded, the displaced, and the traumatized.
We pray for civilians, families, and communities whose lives are shattered by war.
We pray for restraint among leaders and for the silencing of all that fuels destruction.
We pray for protection, endurance, and faithfulness of believers facing opposition.
We pray for those who are trapped between powers greater than themselves.
We pray for the Church to be steady, compassionate, and unafraid
We pray for justice, but never divorced from humility before God.
We pray that many would encounter the crucified and risen Christ, whose kingdom alone will know no end.
As we pray, we give thanks to God for the missionaries, national partners, and extended global family of faith who remain ready, when the moment is right, to speak of Jesus—the One who entered violence without becoming its servant, who bore the hatred of the world without returning it, and who will one day judge the nations in righteousness.
The Lord hears, the Lord sees, the Lord acts.

Asia
All across Asia, God is drawing people to Himself through both proclamation and presence. In countries like Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Japan, Bangladesh, and the Philippines, our national partners are seeing growing openness to the Gospel, as many become disillusioned with traditional belief systems. Our missionaries and partners are reaching diverse groups: youth on university campuses, marginalized women and children, Buddhist, Muslim, and animist communities in remote villages, and displaced refugees seeking safety and dignity. Through discipleship training, vocational training, and church planting, new believers are being equipped to lead and multiply house churches. Even in places of deep suffering and amid the challenges of religious persecution, political instability, poverty, natural disasters, addiction, and spiritual opposition, God is blessing this work. Many people are coming to Christ and many new disciples are learning to make disciples.
PRAY FOR
Pray for courage and protection and for the veil of unbelief to be lifted off unbelievers.
Pray for open doors into restricted regions.
Pray for strong, Spirit-led local leaders.
Pray for continued unity in our global partnerships—that together, as one family, we would faithfully join God on His mission in Asia.
Pray for physical, emotional, and spiritual strength for missionaries serving throughout Asia.

God is powerfully advancing His Kingdom in Sub-Saharan Africa. Pastors are being equipped to teach God’s Word through Missional Leadership Training (MLT). They are also gathering to learn about and align their lives with God’s all-encompassing Kingdom. Exciting partnerships are growing in places like Ethiopia, Namibia, Congo, Angola, Benin, and Nigeria. God continues to open new opportunities for business as mission, and sustainable development ventures for nationals as well as Christian education for children.
Challenges include war, natural disasters, disease, and an ongoing economic crisis due to ever-increasing commodity prices and fuel shortages.

Despite centuries of missionary work and a Christian heritage, there are still many in Europe and Central Asia waiting to hear the Gospel message. Our global workers are discipling new believers, mentoring students, and ministering to the needs of refugees and the marginalized population. God is using Multiply to reach the lost and establish churches throughout this vast region, including in Mongolia, France, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Germany, and Ukraine.

Central & South America
Central and South America is among the most culturally diverse regions in the world. Ministry here is complex. Across this region, God is transforming lives through discipleship, leadership development, and church-planting movements rooted in local communities. From the jungles of the Amazon to the urban centers of Mexico and Peru, the Gospel is taking root among indigenous peoples, youth, families, and marginalized communities longing for hope. Missional training is bearing fruit among the Wounaan, Emberá, and other indigenous tribes of Panama. Young adults in Brazil, Costa Rica, and Mexico are attending mission training schools to help them reach the lost in their own contexts. Despite the challenges of political instability, religious opposition, government corruption, narco-trafficking, and limited resources, there is vibrant church growth and expanding vision for ministry in this region.

God is moving powerfully in this region through national believers who are boldly living out the Gospel in both urban centers and remote villages. Despite limited access for outside workers, the Good News is being carried into unreached areas by local leaders and Church Extension Workers—often traveling by foot, motorbike, or boat to isolated tribal villages. Thousands of families, youth, and marginalized individuals have heard the message of Jesus. New fellowships have been formed in homes and believers are increasingly being equipped to reach their own communities. In a region where new believers face persecution from religious extremists, social opposition, rejection from their families, and the relentless pressure of geographic isolation, the Church is thriving. Lives are being transformed through healing, deliverance, and discipleship. Many who choose baptism openly embrace the costly obedience of following Christ.

In South India, national leader R equips teams of Church Extension Workers (CEW’s) travel over rough terrain by foot, motorbike, and boat, risking persecution to bring the hope of the Gospel to isolated tribal villages.
National Leaders J and D
In North India, national leaders J and D oversee the outreach initiatives of a network of over 70 churches across North India. These leaders have been instrumental in ushering in the Missional Leadership Training (MLT)
Canada
Across this country we are witnessing Jesus draw His children to Himself, breaking their chains of fear and isolation, and then sending them into His harvest fields. Through discipleship and partnership with local churches, followers of Jesus are being released to live missionally in their neighborhoods, campuses, communities, and beyond.
God is inviting His followers to see and engage with the nations He has brought to Canada. In everyday life and in simple acts of obedience, we are witnessing the power of the Holy Spirit at work as believers courageously proclaim the Good News of King Jesus. From First Peoples to newcomers, from cities to remote communities, God is at work. For us to join in this work faithfully, we are completely dependant on the grace of God and your prayers. The Mennonite Brethren were formed as a family of churches in Russia in 1860. Just 39 years later, the Mennonite Brethren in the USA sent their first missionaries, Nicholas N. And Susie Hiebert, to India in 1899. This was the beginning of 127 years of our global missions efforts. As a family of churches the Mennonite Brethren have continued with a fire and passion to see the lost saved, living out the Great Commission. Sacrificial going, giving, and praying have marked the MB story.
Global Missions is not complicated, it is just hard. Today we are calling out a new generation of missionaries who are willing to follow the call of Jesus to “Go and make disciples of all the nations.” As a mission, we are excited to send out our best—Barnabas and Paul, not Ananias and Sapphira. This call is ringing out to all of us to:
GO - Live the Great Commission. GIVE - Fund the Great Commission.
PRAY - Empower the Great Commission so we can reach the nations. We are all called to GO to those around us. While some are called to GO to the nations, we are called to GIVE so the called can GO. We are also called to PRAY so the called are empowered to GO victoriously.
