Glistening glasses of beer or other specialty cocktails are often raised high in celebration of a significant achievement, important milestones or other events that simply spark joy. Other times, those same beverages are sipped on the heels of a more somber memory. For Zac Triemert, the introduction of Jerry’s Pale Ale was developed to recognize both. Triemert, a familiar face in the Nebraska brewing and distilling industry, lost his father, Jerry, to pancreatic cancer. The distance between diagnosis and Jerry’s passing was a short one, yet it sparked in Triemert the opportunity to honor and celebrate his beloved father’s life. Jerry’s Pale Ale was born in time for Christmas and everyone in Triemert’s family was gifted two bottles. “One to drink, one to save,” Triemert said. “Some of us laughed, some cried. But I changed the experience with that beer. That’s what inspired Lucky Bucket.”
