A warm welcome to Wellington collegefor their 3rd visit totheClose. The start of this season has seen both sides play some challenging fixtures, with the half term break providing valuable respite and an opportunity for players to recover and rejuvenate for these important TSCmatches. The fixture hasalways managed to provide plenty of high skill and try scoringexcitement, with the final minutes deciding the victor. I expect today to be another thrilling encounter from two excellent teams.Mr DGrewcock
Thank you all for coming today. It?s our first gameback after a needed half term break. We ended our first half of the term with a good win at home against Tommies, giving us confidence before our break. This fixture against Wellington today is always one of the biggest games in the year for all age groups , and this year especially following our arrow away defeat last year.Ihopeall enjoythematch.

In this weekend of remembrance there seems no more poignant school to welcome to Clifton College than Wellington College with such strong links to our military. The fixtures between our two schoolshave created some epic encounters and I hope today will continue on that road. The tradition and values that rugby brings to all young people is so invaluable and at Clifton this has been a huge part of the history of rugby for many years. A man that installed all these values was sadly lost to usjust beforehalf term and I would very much like to acknowledge his contribution to CliftonCollegeRugby.

Kevin Bowring was Director of Sport and 1st XVcoach at Clifton College from 1986 to 1995. During this time he touched the lives of pupils and teachersin an amazing way Even more uniquely towardsthe end of his time at Clifton he was Wales first ever professional rugby coach leading theWelsh National side.I most lovehearingstoriesfrom our moresenior staff of theclamber on Saturdayswhen lessonshad....just...finished, and staff, holdingthegiftsof international ticketsprovided byKev, wereseen headingover thewallsof theNorth Quad intowaitingminibuses, engines roaring ready to drive across the bridge to watch international rugby What fantastic memories. Our thoughts are with Kevin's family and also very much focused on the wonderful rugby legacy he left at this school withtodaybeingverymuchpart of that.Hewill forever beremembered.
Therewill bea presentation by both captainspost match on thepitch of aplayersof thematch and momentsof thematch and all supportersare verywelcome and encouraged tostayonand watch.
I hope all enjoy the day and support their teams passionately and appropriatelyand acknowledgeall thebrilliant endeavour of theplayers. M.Salter
