She started her career as a Special Education Teacher, then branched out to owning a local clothing establishment. rowing up, Matthew shared his childhood with one sister, forming a household environment G rooted in family support. He spent most of his free time hanging out with friends, and playing for the local youth sports teams. As Matthew grew up in the Bay Area, he would play sports (Football, baseball,and Soccer) year round.
Education and Academic Development Matthew attended Pitzer College in Claremont, California, from 1991 to 1995, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During his time at Pitzer, Matthew also played baseball and football for the Pomona/Pitzer combined team. In 1994, he earned First Team All-SCIAC honors for his contributions to the football team, excelling as a defensive end, punter, and place kicker. Being a true student athlete was a tremendous experience because it taught him how to push through mental barriers, in addition prioritize a very busy schedule. In the same year, Matthew spent a semester abroad at the University of Sussex in Brighton, England. During this time, he traveled through Europe, Africa, and Asia, visiting countries such as Spain, Morocco, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Germany, and the Netherlands. During this time he was able to experience a wealth of cultures, and exposed to many different ways of thinking. Completing his undergraduate studies, Matthew pursued additional academic qualifications at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California.
Early Career Experiences Matthew’s career has been marked by a wide range of professional experiences across multiple industries. His early work included roles in apparel sales, which provided foundational experience in customer service and business operations. He also worked as a gardener and landscaper, a waiter, a truck driver trainer, and a delivery driver for both FedEx and UPS. Beyond these roles, Matthew gained experience as a travel agent, caregiver, and social worker. These positions demanded organizational skills, empathy, and problem-solving abilities. Financial Consulting Career In July 2025, Matthew transitioned into financial consulting, joining The Broker Group in Richmond, California, as a Financial Consultant.
