The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) encourages Marymount girls to draw meaningful connections between eight broad and varied subject groups: Language & Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals & Societies, Science, Mathematics, Arts, Design, and Physical & Health Education. With a central focus on the development of conceptual understanding and effective approaches to learning (ATL) skills, the MYP is a student-centered, inquiry-based program rooted in interdisciplinary learning. Students are challenged and supported to become effective communicators, open-minded inquirers, and reflective practitioners, thus acquiring the foundational skills needed to experience success in the Diploma Programme. MYP students learn how to learn for deeper understanding in a creative, collaborative environment which fosters critical thinking, resilience, and independence.
The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is recognized and respected globally by the world’s leading universities. Marymount Diploma candidates study one course from each of six subject groups, three at Standard Level and three at Higher Level. These must include two languages, one subject relating to social studies, one laboratory science, one mathematics, and a sixth subject, which may be music, theatre arts, visual arts, or another in the first four categories mentioned. In addition, all Diploma candidates follow a critical-thinking course entitled Theory of Knowledge, submit an extended essay (normally related to one of the examination subjects) and participate in the Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) programme. Students and teachers collaborate closely in preparation for May IB exams through internal assessments, class presentations, projects, and extensive independent research.
Marymount students are curious and confident learners who are able to express the how and the why behind what they are learning. They build close relationships with their Marymount sisters and teachers both on and off our seven-acre garden campus, located 12 miles from central London.

Now in its 65th year, Marymount London continues to provide a rich and expansive curriculum, offering 16 subjects, as well as 18 activities and extramural clubs. Our small class sizes, averaging 12 students, ensure Marymount girls have the opportunity to discover and become their best selves. Our students are prepared for a world that requires their global awareness, curiosity, compassion, and willingness to use their gifts in service to others. Marymount girls build their confidence, leadership skills, and sense of self surrounded by enthusiastic and welcoming faculty and classmates.
Boarding at Marymount London means living in a vibrant community with girls from around the world, discovering new experiences, and managing a balanced and challenging academic program in an environment that provides, structure, support, and plenty of fun. We are an inclusive school community that prides itself on giving each girl a place where she will feel at home. The lines between the experiences of our day and boarding students are intentionally blurred in order to form a unified student body. The girls share a full academic day, enriching activities, and opportunities to grow in their understanding of themselves and others. Personal and strategic guidance is offered throughout the entire university research and application process. IB Diploma students (Grades 11 and 12) participate in group and individual lessons with the College Counsellor; they are encouraged to reflect on their identity and values as well as to celebrate their unique gifts and talents. Workshops highlight myriad options available to our students and demystify the process for the entire family. Additionally, the comprehensive support offered with each student’s Personal Statement, College Essays, and university interview preparation enables her to find her voice and to shine as she embarks on this exciting new chapter. PAYMENT METHODS
Payments may be made by bank draft, cheque payable to Marymount International School, or bank transfer. Cash payments are not permitted. Please contact the School for more information. PAYMENT SCHEDULE
Fees are due in full by 1st June 2020. Alternatively, Marymount will accept payment of 60% of the total amount due by 1st June 2020 and 40% on 1st December 2020. A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), as required by the UK Visa & Immigration authority (UKVI), must be issued to all non UK/EU students. The School supports CAS applications for 7 day boarding students only. The School must be in receipt of 100% of the fees before submission of a CAS application. For students accepted after 1st June 2020, payment is due upon presentation of the invoice. Students will not be admitted to School until payments have been received. A surcharge of 1.5% per calendar month (or part of a month) will be levied monthly (APR 19.56%) should fees be outstanding after the due date(s).
