The Different sides of

Harry

van Gorkum By DINA MORRONE

I

t's hard to look away when actor Harry van Gorkum walks into a room. For starters, he stands 6' 2" with perfect posture and a casual English elegance. But it's his piercing blue eyes that sparkle, twinkle, and illuminate the space all around him.

Harry was born and raised in London, England to an English mother and Dutch father. He attended Lancaster College where he was classically trained as an actor and went on to work all over England in numerous theatre productions until he landed a role in the award-winning play, Being At Home With Claude. It wasn’t long before all of his hard work training and performing on stage, would pay off and catapult him into a career on the big screen. In 1994 after a very successful acting career in London, (stage, film, television and countless television commercials), he moved to America and settled in Los Angeles. America has been very good to Harry... his resume includes many notable television shows and movies from, Seinfeld, to Friends, Just Shoot Me, CSI, Jag, The Nanny, 24, NCIS, to name a few, and in films like, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Escape Under Pressure, The Foreigners, Tears of the Sun, Avenging Angelo, Pink Panther 2, Karate Kid, and most recently this years Oscar contender, The 12th Man, as well as commercials, video games, and voice over. Besides his immense talent on the screen, he is also a professional photographer. He loves being in front of the camera creating a character as much as he does being behind the camera capturing breathtaking images. Harry’s two most remarkable achievements, however, are his two daughters 7 and 5, with his lovely wife, Victoria, a professional viola player, who studied at London’s Royal College of Music. We sat down with Harry at Cavatina inside the Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood to discuss his career, his childhood in the UK, and his LA life with his family. 7 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

Please share with us one of your most precious childhood memories. Dad would always buy second-hand boats. He would then spend weeks and months doing them up, restoring them and getting them ready to put in the water. The boats were always too small, really only suitable for two people. There were five of us in the family, my parents, my brother, and my sister. Because the boat was too small, it wasn’t possible for all of us to sleep there so my brother and I would have to go camp in a field next to the boat. We slept in a tent (a second-hand tent) on the ground in the rain! My sister would sleep on the deck of the boat. I recall that as a child they were very wet holidays, we never seemed to get fully dry. One of the things that happened over and over again is that my sister would fall off the boat and into the water. I don’t know why she’d fall into the water, but I guess she was told that if she ever felt she was in danger that she should jump off the boat. When I was a young boy I had long hair. I looked like a girl. One day I fell off the boat and I was in the water trying to swim back to the boat. This fellow nearby was signaling to my mother that her daughter had fallen in the water. My mother ignored him thinking it was just my sister again in the water. But instead, I was in the water swimming and frantically trying to get back to the boat safely. Looking back on all those boat trips with my family, I realize now that even though they were wet and cramped holidays for us as children, they were some of the most memorable times of my childhood. I have very fond memories that I now treasure. They were the happiest times. It was just my family, all five of us, together, on an adventure, never knowing what was going to happen next. Now that I have my own family, we have bought a small travel trailer and I really enjoy taking my family on it to experience what I experienced as a child - journeys to the mountains, desert, beaches, and always looking forward to the unexpected. My father’s first boat was called Poppy and my youngest daughter is called Poppy. That name is very special to me. When did you first know you wanted to be an actor? I knew it before I decided that I wanted to be an actor. At school when I was about seven, they did a production of The Pied Piper of Hamlin. For some reason, I was cast as the lead. I was a small boy (did not have my growth spurt until I was 18) yet there I was, the lead, leading all these people around. I felt very important. I had no fear. I didn’t understand why people had stage fright. I couldn’t wait to get up on stage. 8 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

Did your parent's ever think of pursuing a career in the entertainment business? My mother was an actress. She was very well trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts and I am sure she would have been very successful, but she left acting to go take care of her sick mother and gave it up. But later on, there were times we would be watching television and she would say, “Oh there’s so and so. I went to school with her.” She always kept me grounded when I started to have a little success as an actor, I am so grateful to her for that. My father wasn’t an actor but should have been. He was a natural born actor. My father was originally from Holland and he was in the RAF (Dutch Royal Air Force). He was in Switzerland when Germany invaded France and Belgium and was sent from Switzerland back to Holland to be with his parents. If he had stayed in Switzerland he would have been in the safety zone and things would have been very different. I don’t know quite why he went to Holland but he did. He remained there during the occupation and lived a terrible life during that time. When he was 17, he had a friend who somehow knew the Dutch King and for some reason, they were able to get a boat and get a pass to get a boat into England. Once he got to England, he joined the Royal Air Force Dutch Squadron, and became a Spitfire pilot. My father had all his military stuff in the attic. As a kid, I loved going up there and trying it on. Then when I was older I found a trunk and inside a whole bunch of plays with his part marked on them. I went down to tell my father about the plays and he admitted to me that when he was a young man he actually wanted to be an actor. But at that time, when he was in his late teens, it wasn’t easy for a man to say he wanted to be an actor. That was not considered something that well-balanced people chose as a career. When he told his father, his father sent him off to do an aptitude test to see what career best suited him. The test came back that he should be an engineer. So my father became an engineer and then became a salesman for GKN, an engineering company. He traveled the world selling engineering parts. And because he spoke five languages, he became a very successful international salesman. He would tell amazing stories and engage the clients. But I suspect it was really the actor inside of him that made him such a great salesman. What convinced you to leave London and make the move to Los Angeles? I had been doing a lot of television commercials in London and I was in lucky enough to be cast in a play, Being at Home with Claude, a three-character play, starring the French Canadian actor Lothaire Bluteau. It started off in the small Kings Head dinner theatre in London, but it soon was selling out fast as word spread of the extraordinarily brilliant performance by Lothaire. It was the best acting I have ever seen. He was so brilliant, dangerous and mesmerizing. The US producers called

a few days before the run was up and told us we were transferring to the Vaudeville Theatre in the West End of London… in three days. It was an incredible experience to go from a tiny theatre to a two thousand-seat venue with our names up in lights and huge dressing rooms. It was a huge hit, sold out every night. It was such an honor to share the stage with such a talent. I was required to cry for my part in the final stages of the show, and I never had to act it. I’d just watch and react. That’s how good he was. After the exposure from that play I started to work even more in England, and soon I decided to try my luck in America. Is there a fond memory from your early years working in the theater that has stayed with you all these years? Yes, the realization that on the stage anything can happen. It is different every time, every night of the show. You have to be ready, prepared and it is so damn exciting. It gets in your blood… that rush. It’s like nothing else. Film and television do not give you that. It does every so often, but those moments are rare. Do you have a celebrity story you would like to share? In 1952 my mother and father were in Venice, Italy, at a time when Venice was having one of the cities worst floods ever. My parents were staying at the Hotel Danieli near St. Marco’s square right on the Grand Canal. My parent’s room was on the 4th floor. They were trapped inside the hotel as the water had gone up as high as the 3rd floor. The hotel had given my parents a lovely suite on one of the higher floors near the bar. The bar was luckily on the 7th floor. Peter O’Toole and his wife were also staying in the same hotel. For one whole week, my parents were trapped in there with Peter O’Toole and his wife. My parents said they laughed so much they could hardly stand it. It was one of the funniest most entertaining times they ever had. Now fast forward. I’m living in America and I was at the Savannah Film Festival. I go there every year because I am on The Advisory Board of the festival. One year I was there when Peter O’Toole was being given a lifetime achievement award. Afterward, there was a VIP area and so I asked a photographer friend I was with to please take a picture of Peter O’Toole and myself so I could send it to my father to show him how history repeats itself. So as I’m standing in this VIP area holding my glass of red wine, I look over at Peter O’Toole and he sees me. He’s holding a glass. And then he raises his glass. And I’m thinking is he raising his glass at me? I turn around and look behind me to see if there is someone there. No one was there. Then eventually he is sitting down. I walk over to him, and I say “Mr. O’Toole, you don’t know me but...” He doesn’t let me finish and says, “The Danieli Hotel, 1952.” I actually went down on my knees in front of him. My friend took a picture 12 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

of the moment. It’s me looking up at him with my glass of wine in my hand. It looks like Pope meets the boy. And then he continued, “I was there with your father, your mother, my wife, and we were trapped inside the Hotel Danieli.” And then proceeds to tell the story exactly as my father had told it to me. And then he said, “You are your father's son... the way you hold your glass. It’s Harry!” My father's name is also Harry. So now I have this lovely photograph with Peter O’Toole. My father has it framed! Besides acting, are there other creative avenues that you have pursued. I am a photographer. I love photography because it makes me invisible and I have total control. It’s the ultimate because actors have no control. Only on stage can an actor have total control. In the theatre when you are out there on stage you can change what you are doing. But yes I love to do photography.

Is there a charity or organization that is very dear to you? Yes. The Macmillan Cancer Support charity in England. It is a wonderful charity that sends trained health professionals to your home to live with you while a member of your family is going through the terminal stages of cancer. I am forever grateful for the nurse who was with us during my mother’s final days. How do you feel about the environment and climate change? What do you think we should do to improve it? I am very passionate about the environment. As we all should be. There is an environmental crisis happening right now. What can we do about it? Well, first we must emphasize that it is real. The crisis is real! And that means globally, not just here in America. People need to be educated. And each and every one of us needs to do our part to educate those who don’t know. Politics and Special Interest Groups need to step back and let those who are informed and knowledgeable lead and advise us. This all has got to be addressed. We need to be informed and more responsible because it’s our world. We need to make changes. We need to teach our children all of these things from a very young age and lead by example. 13 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM eJanuary 2019

Do you consider yourself to be spiritual? I have always felt there is someone or something guiding me somehow. It is the little voice I hear deep within or a gut reaction to take a certain path or make a decision. I have always lived my life day to day… to see where it will take me. It seems to have worked out well so far. I have traveled the world, had wonderful adventures and met amazing people along the way. For example, I was lucky enough a few years ago to be working in China on, The Karate Kid, and I took a 2-week trip into the magical country of Tibet. It is a hard country to enter and to travel around due to the Chinese forced occupation. The Tibetan people are without a doubt the most welcoming, friendly, open people I have yet encountered. As a photographer, I was literally in heaven shooting the smiling faces all around me. This is a country whose whole way of life is Buddhism, and it is apparent in everything they do. It hit me most when we were staying at a nomad camp the night before we walked to the base camp of Everest. We all slept in a large communal tent and the local Tibetans made us dinner and breakfast. The following morning we all paid them for their hospitality and were about to head off on our trek. There was some commotion among our hosts. They were trying to sort out the money we had all given them. We thought we had not paid enough, but it transpired that in fact we had paid them a little over the rate and they were trying to work out how much they needed to give us back! That is one of their steadfast life beliefs, do not steal, or take from others. It was an eye-opening moment. These were a people who live and practiced their religion on a day-to-day basis. There was no divide, it was their life, their culture their moral code. I cried when I left Tibet. If you look into what is happening there today and has been happening for decades, you will understand why. You have two young daughters, how do you feel about what’s happened in the past year with regards to women coming forward and speaking out about inappropriate behavior in the workplace? I am so proud of my daughters Poppy, 5 and Sophie, 7 because I know they can do anything they want. It’s not like in the past when a woman’s life choices could be limited. Now there are no limitations for women. I am pleased that the #MeToo movement has happened. It has given women a lot of strength to come forward and to make much-needed changes. Women deserve it. They are much more sensitive, intelligent and much more in control of situations. There has been so much progress and it will only continue to get better for women, and as a result, for all of us.

Your Day of Birth Number Every person and entity (like a business, book or product launch, live event, ceremony, first meeting) is born on a specific day of the month. The Day of Birth is one of Three Important Numbers in a person’s Birth Code. The Day of Birth number gives you instant insights into someone’s natural disposition, their way of being and tendencies, who they are dayto-day, moment-to-moment—even if you do not know their age. This allows you to do a quick reading on anyone, as long as you know they were born on the 5th, 22nd, 17th, etc.—so, regardless of whether you know their year of birth or not, you can read this part of their Birth Code. What Is Your Day of Birth Number? If you were born on the 1st through the 9th of any month, your Day of Birth corresponds to that number. If you are born between the 10th and the 31st of any month, you will be impacted by one additional double-digit number (sometimes two) along with the single-digit or “root number.” Find the root number by adding together the digits of your Day of Birth (twice, if the result is another double-digit number).

Short Descriptions of “Root Numbers” 1–9

Each single-digit number from 1 through 9 emits a unique vibration that differentiates it from the other eight numbers, giving the person who embodies it the strong characteristics and vital energy force of that number. Knowing just the three important single-digit root numbers for any person gives a powerful overall impression. Understanding the meaning of the single-digits in your Birth Code will create a distinct picture, a pattern of energetic imprints that reflect your personal instincts and general orientation towards your life, career, health, and relationships. The following are brief descriptions revealing the positive expression for each single-digit root number. Use this as a quick reference guide for all Life Purpose and Day of Birth Numbers. Shame  To From

Self Esteem By Dr. Joseph Burgo

SHAME RESILIENCE Because my views are informed by my experience as a psychotherapist, much of my book ‘Shame’ has focused on the clinical manifestations of shame and its roots in early experience. Most of the clients I describe in the middle section of this book suffered from lifelong shame as a result of gross failures in parenting during their earliest years of life—with caregivers whose psychological difficulties rendered them incapable of providing the empathy and shared joy children need to thrive. When the innate human need for love and connection goes unmet, the result is a profound kind of Disappointed Expectation: core shame takes hold when we do not receive the emotional attunement that our genetic inheritance has led us to expect.

Photography by Diane Arbus

Free Yourself, Find Joy and Build True Self Esteem

Even those of us who are not afflicted by core shame must confront and learn to cope with the shame family of emotions. When a love object fails to return our interest, we may feel the shame of Unrequited Love. If we find ourselves on the outside of a group to which we’d like to belong, we may feel the shame of Exclusion. Opportunities to feel the shame of Unwanted Exposure abound in daily life, from exposing bodily functions we’d prefer remain private to making an inadvertent faux pas. When we fail to achieve our goals or live up to our own values, we may con- front the shame of Disappointed Expectation. Developing shame resilience means facing the truth about yourself, recognizing your defenses at work, and disarming those self-protective measures when they stand in the way of personal growth. Defending against shame often takes the form of denial, rationalization, and blaming other people while insisting on your own innocence. In the days after an argument with a friend or loved one, do you find yourself returning again and again to the charged memory of what youboth said, reliving the fight in painful detail? If you repeatedly justify yourself in imaginary arguments with the other person, stop and ask yourself what you might have said or done to feel ashamed about. In mostarguments both parties bear some responsibility for what happened. If you insist on your own innocence while laying blame entirely at the other person’s feet, you may be denying your own shame because you find it intolerable. Facing shame—that is, listening to and learning from it—can also be a source of pride. I’ve spent a lifetime in sometimes painful self-examination; for many years I was in denial about my shame, but I’m proud to have since become a person who will face the truth, acknowledge fault, and try to do better. Moving on from shame defiance and developing robust shame resilience is an important stage on the path toward authentic self-esteem; it helps us to build pride by living up to our own standards and by achieving our self-chosen goals. THE VALUE OF HUMOR Extreme narcissists share many traits, including an inability to laugh at themselves. In flight from unbearable shame, these individuals feel compelled to defend an idealized self-image that disproves their unconsciousfeelings of defect or unworthiness. On constant guard against any challenge to their inflated self-image, they cannot bear criticism of any kind. If someone makes a joke at their expense or humorously tries to deflate them, they will experience it as an attack and retaliate in kind. And, of course, they never make jokes at

26 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

their own expense. In my experience peoplewho lack a sense of humor about themselves are always in flight from shame of an unbearable kind. In the later stages of my work with clients, shared laughter often plays an important role as they become more shame resilient. I believe that the ability to laugh at oneself with affection is a sign of emotional health. There I am, doing that embarrassing or shameful thing I’ve done so many times before. Admitting it doesn’t feel as bad as I thought it would. It’s even kind of funny. When we experience an emotion in the shame family, the encounter often tells us something about who we are— our particularfoibles as well the values we hold dear, the person we expect ourselves to be. Shame can point toward areas where we need to try harder—in my case, to keep my overly assertive side in check. Shame (inthe specific form of guilt) lets us know when an apology is in order, when we need to make amends to a loved one we may have injured. If we instead defy shame and defend against it, we lose an opportunity to grow.

How to Arrive in Old Age Skipping not Crawling

Photography by tommaso lizzul

By Stephen Fulder

N

one of us are really ready for it. It always seems to come as a bit of a shock – the greying hair, the changes to our face, our energy, our health, our relationships or our social role. For many of us, ageing can be quite a struggle. It can be very hard to watch as one by one our powers weaken and abilities deteriorate, quickly or slowly. We may feel abandoned and side-lined by others who are always busy. Frequent health issues keep us endlessly concerned and occupied with medical matters.

28 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

But there is another possibility entirely: to arrive in old age skipping nor crawling. To be feisty, energetic, and full of the spice of life. To enjoy this time as a time of freedom from cares, freedom from ambitions, expectations, and concerns. To be delighted that we are not still a slave of the endless race for success and achievement. To live lightly without too much thought oftomorrow. To appreciate all the life wisdom that we have accumulated, donate it freely to others, and usually receive in return the honour and appreciation due to us. This can be a time to enjoy and share the memories and stories that we live by, and at the same time to be the holders of culture, and preservers of skills, values and ethics. We could radiate steadiness and bring confidence and meaning to younger folk that have lost their way. Why not be the ‘wise woman’ or the ‘tribal elder’? On the level of the body, preparing for ageing well is about living with simplicity and harmony in relation to the world. If you look at the lifestyles of communities or individuals who tend to live a long time and are healthy and energetic into old age, they are generally active, are not overweight, eat little and regularly, don’t use industrial or processed food, and are not under stress.

enjoyable and free, and I am listening to the song of the trees and life that I pass and my body in movement. We can more easily dance and flow with change if we are living in the present moment. In the moment, truly experienced, there is no ageing, no measuring no comparing to what was and no concern about what will be. We can just get out of the battle. We can meet the moment by letting go into it, into the touch of the wind on our cheeks, the taste of a good cup of tea, or the beautiful early morning song of the blackbird in our garden. We can actively surrender to whatever the moment gives us. This is what allows the grace which, after a long life behind us, we deserve. This is the wisdom of age - a life rich with experience culminating in peace, reflection and full presence. We can fly free, like a great bird soaring over the extraordinary landscape of our life, and celebrating the view!

However much of this preparation is of the mind, not the body. And the mind that ages well is a mind that is cheerful, peaceful, curious, kind and attentive. Thisis not the mind that spends most of its waking hours either working in front of a computer or sinking in front of the TV, nor submerged under endless worries and concerns about what was and what might be. Mindful awareness is a primary practice that can give focus, balance and steadiness of mind, as well as reduce fear, and runaway concerns. If we see our inner landscape clearly with our inner eye, we are no longer controlled by it. We can be more intimate with ourselves, and this brings us much ease and joy. I remember during a course on mindfulness which I was teaching to elderly people, during one particular session there was a wonderful sense of peace and a deep quiet that was palpable. After the session one lady said: “Do you realise what a relief it is just to rest in the awareness of my quiet breathing? I was not a 70 year old lady, I did not have arthritis, and I did not have a crowd of noisy grandchildren and a demanding family. I was just breathing. I was at peace”. This can help us to cope with the really big challenges of changes to ourselves, our circumstances and our body, such as loss of capacities. With an ability to be a ‘fair witness’ of the changes that happen to us, we do not identify with them so much (‘my problems’) and we will tend to take our changes more easily. I enjoy running (at age 72) not because I ‘ought’ to, or because it is good for me, but because it is

What do you think the number one impediment is to create the life of your dreams? Time? Money? Opportunity? Any of these can be challenging, but none of them are the number one reason. The number one reason is AUTOPILOT. Autopilot is the place from which all of us make our decisions. Science suggests that approximately 95% of all our choices in adulthood are created from autopilot or the unconscious mind. This means that any belief we hold about what is possible, what is true, what we think of ourselves, and what we think we deserve makes our choices for us before a conscious thought is initiated. The deck is stacked in favor of the unconscious mind. Even when a conscious thought is generated the auto pilot mind has much more momentum behind it. We have enormous experience and practice operating our lives from the unconscious. We have results that confirm the beliefs in the unconscious.

31 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

Auto pilot displays itself best when we attempt to change or challenge something in our lives. We decide to begin a course of action that feels great. Within two to three weeks (or sooner) something happens. Our will begins to fade. Our inner voice begins to take over our thought process. It puts a stop to our new goal. Those inner voices rationalize, justify, excuse and make reasons for us to not continue forward. Auto pilot wins. There’s hope. You can use the following three very effective tools to combat autopilot. I have listed them in order of "ease" to effect real time tangible results. 1. Play the Energy Game The Energy game is a two-fold action. You act “as if" you have the thing you want and do so until you feel it in the moment. You believe your momentary delusion. It isn’t a delusion. Consciousness itself does not recognize the difference between real and imagined. Your “act” generates a new beginning in your creative energetic process. When you play the Energy Game you intentionally insert high vibration energy into your awareness. This is how you do it: Be still. Take a breath. Close your eyes. Now, imagine the outcome you wish to realize. For the next couple of minutes, or until you make itreal for yourself, pretend and/or act “as if ” that outcome has occurred. As everything is energy you immediately become magnetic to the very thing you desire. Like attracts like. I am a very “Zen” person, but there is one area of my life where I can still get tripped up. That’s with my kids. My son is an adhd type child. Every year since he was seven, I have had to go to his school at least twice a year for teacher conferences. Given his circumstance there are always multiple people in the room, teachers, principal, psychologist, etc. The first few years of elementary school were awful. What I would hear is “your kid is screwed up, and not performing to standard.” All that did was make me defensive and not very receptive to their ideas. I came to dread these meetings, and frankly ready for a fight. One year after writing my article, 10 Minutes a Day to Change Your Life, I decided to apply it to this situation. Most of the time people come to me for help to create wealth or attract love. It suddenly dawned on me that I could apply the same techniques to this situation. True story; before the next teacher conference, I sat in my car for about 10 minutes before I had to go into the meeting. I generated the feelings that all would go well in the meeting, and that it would be benevolent and all would be right in the world. God’s honest truth, from that moment forward 32 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

I have never had a negative experience with a teacher conference meeting again. That was four years ago. The effects of playing the Energy Game can be temporary at the beginning. You have to keep feeding the creative process. Nonetheless when you insert high vibrations into your energy your awareness does expand, as you recognize your power to influence outcomes. That’s not even the best part. The best part is that you begin to notice other things you never expected to shift begin to change around you for the positive as well. We are not compartmentalized beings. We may have a particular desire to create money or love, but when we focus on raising our vibrations in any way, it affects the whole. Example: I remember a time I was working on my love life. I was visualizing with feelings the perfect love situation. Suddenly my business started to go off the charts crazy. I had more opportunities and work than I could manage. An unintended consequence of raising my love vibration. What I did in my love life affected the whole of my life, specifically my business. The Energy Game is amazing. That’s why I wrote an entire book on the subject. Playing the energy game is the easiest thing to do because it feels good, and you don’t have to go anywhere or buy anything. Plus, you see results very quickly in your life. Results more than anything else spur us on to stay with a course of action.

2. Use Affirmative Statements to Neutralize Negative Inner Dialogue One of my favorite studies/stories refers to astronauts working for NASA in the mid 1990’s. Six Astronauts were in a controlled setting preparing for a space expedition. Each person had special goggles they had to wear 24 hours a day. These goggles inverted their perception of the world. Down was up and up was down. This was to help them learn to tolerate zero gravity and weightlessness. Each astronaut was instructed to wear these goggles day in and day out. They even slept with these goggles on. Something amazing and unexpected occurred on day 24 with one of the astronauts. That is when they woke up in the morning suddenly up was no longer down, and down was no longer up. Their brain had reorganized to adjust for the difference the goggles had created. Even though they were still wearing the goggles their brain created a new neural pathway that re-stabilized their vision. Within a couple of days each astronaut followed suit with the same experience. Their vision returned to normal although they were still wearing the goggles. What we learned form this is that it takes approximately 24 days to change a thought pattern in the brain. If we are relentless and insert new input into our brain, our body and our life will adjust to accommodate that desire, goal or belief. Affirmations work if you use them. They must be made in the affirmative not the negative. Say what you want, not want you don't want.

After three to four weeks most people get into a rhythm and can begin to effect change. You must get to the three to four weeks threshold and build upon it. The bottom line is this: if we can awaken to our power to master auto pilot we can achieve and attract anything we want in life. Master the inner world and you will succeed in the outer world!! Lovingly known as The Common-Sense Psychic (tm), Phyllis King has worked with tens of thousands of people in 25 different countries. She is known for her practical and down to earth approach. She has been featured on, ABC, CBS and NBC TV, radio programs across the country, and has been published in over 70 print and online publications. Her latest book, The Energy of Abundance, Practical Advice and Spiritual Wisdom to Achieve Anything in Life is available in bookstores and all online outlets. Phyllis holds a B.A. in Sociology. Contact Phyllis at www.phyllisking.com.

3. Power through This is the old school method. Call it snail mail. Either way it is a method that works, but it is the most difficult for most people. Powering through means that you use will, focus, and determination to change your reality. No matter what negative thoughts, resistance or road blocks you put up to change, your commitment to change is your guiding light. You hold that commitment as the supreme dominance in your daily life. This works if you can generate the will and focus. The most difficult part of this approach for most people is the beginning. 33 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

WISDOM

NUGGETS FROM SOLO

SPORTS By Alexia Melocchi

It’s a New Year and I, like many of us, look at January 1st as a date for potentially a fresh start and a new and improved outlook on life. The more people I speak to, the more it seems that we all want to have a “better” 2019 because let’s face it, if not for the state that our World is in lately, it has not been all roses. I sat down this week, as I do every year, to write my New Years’ resolutions, that of course, I never or rarely keep. In search for simplicity, I decided to search for some nuggets of wisdom that would help chart the course of improved thinking patterns and mental clarity and I found those nuggets of wisdom in a very unlikely place, a documentary about a solo sport – skimboarding - that is all about “zen” while experiencing the joy of riding a wave in the biggest surface of our planet, the ocean. As the Latin phrase sums it up” Mens sana In Corpore Sano”, meaning a sound mind in a sound body, I started to ask myself about the qualities that are inherent in those that practice solo sports and what fuels their passion about such solo experience. What is a solo sport? Sometimes you have to make it on your own in this world, and individual sports are perfect for those times. While it is rewarding to be part of a great team, relying on nobody other than yourself can be just as powerful. Discipline, endurance, and perseverance are some of the greatest qualities people can learn from individual sports, whether it be from the greatest rock climbers or those who choose to jump on top of a board and surf the waves of an ocean. Intense vs Mellow. I am not an intense person nor consider myself a thrill seeker, so exploring the mellow approach to solo sport, I decided to interview Tony Liuzzi , the filmmaker behind a documentary I have been involved in as a an executive producer, recently released on Amazon Prime, called ”Shorebreak: the evolution of skimboarding”. Filled with great quotes from A-list action sports superstars like The Bryan Brothers, Brad Domke, Jamie Obrien, and Tony Hawk who all appear in the film , and amazing visual sequences of the experience of riding 20 foot waves, the documentary tells the story of the evolution of the Sport which is similar to surfing but done with a much shorter board and where the Athlete meets the wave from the shore going in, then rides it back to shore. The sport is popular also as a hobby for people of all ages and fitness level, as long as they love the ocean.

34 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

Tony, why did you make this documentary? I first thought of making the movie while visiting my family in our hometown of Laguna Beach. I was sitting on the beach watching the waves go by seeking inspiration for one of my newest screenplays. Looking out at the beautiful vast ocean and the peaceful surroundings is always something I have enjoyed doing to spark inspiration since I was a young boy. After doing so many documentaries with the National park service when attending Dominican University of California my Teachers always taught me to do what was feasible, calculable, and most importantly realistic. My mentors were always encouraging me to think outside the box and push limits but in a thorough and realistic manner. I have known about the sport of Skimboarding for many years now, attending my first Victoria World Skim Championships in 2003. I knew that the sport had a large following of people that seemed to not just have an obsession with the growing community of skimboarders but a genuine love and respect of the Ocean. I loved the opportunity to tell their story and help millions worldwide to connect with the beautiful culture that is Skimboarding. What did you learn from making this documentary for your human evolution? This movie taught me a lot about myself and other people. There are people in the world who are enjoying life because life is amazing when we do not complicate it. People sometimes choose to focus on all that is wrong and expect things in life to happen in a certain fixed way that fits their plans and timeline. We need to slow down and reconnect with others outside of the virtual world that is the web. During Hurricane Irma, the Joogsquad and I were stuck without electricity and fresh food and water other than our prepared supplies for almost 2 weeks. In spite of it all we continuously helped others in our community that were suffering more than us at that time. We never stopped going and helped almost 500 families locate local relief shelters and hosting fundraisers for thousands of dollars used for needed supplies for dealing with the harsh times. Also I learned how things are always possible! People just have to never stop believing in themselves and try, fail, and try again. More importantly surrounding yourself with others that believe in you and more importantly themselves in order to manifest positivity into your lives. Realizing that waking up everyday with the will to change anything you want. It may be hard to pick up that boulder, but you pick up enough pebbles over time and Eventually that boulder won’t seem as overwhelming. Start small with organizing a drawer or the closet you randomly shove stuff into, and then start the novel you always wanted to write, or build the business you could be your best self in; one idea at a time, One day at a time. Don’t worry about organizing your plans at the get go, just get them out on paper. People struggle with organizing the 20 picture frames on the wall. I would suggest with the favourites in the middle of the wall and putting the less important others scattered outward. This applies to

and bring my best self. I love it when every second becomes forever; and the possibilities are endless.” Dylan Palmer cinematographer –– “I love the ocean because it’s where the greatest moments in my life happen, when in the ocean I feel connected to a power greater than myself!” Brad Domke skimboard enthusiast and champion – – “My life revolves around waves!” In conclusion, perhaps the secret to making a New Resolution stick is not to have one at all. Perhaps our focus should be instead on connecting with like- minded life enthusiasts, to choose the activities that brings us joy, make the plans that become a priority because they feel good when doing them, and surrender to the flow of time, like we do when we let ourselves float in or above water, knowing that is all about the journey, not the destination. all of life too. Yes you may end up with unused pictures but that is art! Do something today that you want to plan for tomorrow! My teacher and mentor Dr. Melba Beals always says, “Those who fail to plan, plan to Fail.” What message do you want to come through for those that watch the documentary and know nothing about the Sport? A simple appreciation of life and what they choose to do with it is what I hope people can take away from my film. Understand that doesn’t mean that Skimboarding will make everyone happy and perfect for every single person. But the fact is if anyone can find something they truly love to do, they will discover others that also enjoy the same thing. Doing what you love on a daily basis is the secret of life. I challenge you to be happy in a world where it’s so easy not to be! But who said anything in life was supposed to be easy. How does the water make you feel? Bill Bryan world champion champion “The more in touch with it (the water) I got, the deeper the relationship grew. Getting to know the different moods and matching it, cooperating, it always brought the best out of me. From an early age I learned that I could be in the moment there. nature challenges me to keep my mind and body in the zone. After you have written your goals for the year fold the piece of paper up and put it in your wallet or in your purse. Somewhere that you can pull it out and look at it periodically throughout the year. When you read over your goals you are reaffirming your desires and may realize that some goals have already come to fruition.

Set your goals for 2019 high for yourself and speak them, think them and feel them happening. Write them down, plant the seeds in your garden and watch them grow. Happy New Year! And may all your wishes come true.

n Each New Year brings us a new beginning, a fresh start to our lives, if we choose. You hold the key to a successful happy 2019. If you choose to make it a good year, then it will be! Its amazing how our frame of mind, thoughts and words can shape our lives. January is the perfect time to reflect on the past year and make decisions for what’s next. Its natural and intended to be that way. The question is, what will bring you joy this year? Here’s a secret that I am going to share with you. I learned this in business from some very successful people who were older and wiser than me at the time. They told me to do the following:

Nancy E. Yearout is an author, a spiritual life coach, and a motivational speaker. Nancy hasenjoyed an extensive corporate career as a sales coordinator with one of the Big Three automakers in Detroit. Her sales, management, and marketing skills have grown with each step of her business. Her success has blessed her with the real life experience, knowledge, and common sense that is required to help others through life’s challenges.

They said to get out a piece of paper and a pen and go to a quiet comfortable place and write down your goals for the new year. These written goals are to come from your heart, not from your head.

Nancy has been fortunate to acquire hands-on energy healing skills from an Aztec healer from Mexico, and she has helped many balance their energy fields. She has received guidance from religious and spiritualteachers along the way, resulting in the development of her skills as an intuitive, a tarot card reader, and a life coach.

The act of pulling out a piece of paper and pen may seem old school, but this simple ritual holds much magic. It’s the act of you pulling your desires from your heart and acknowledging those dreams with the ink on the white paper. The Energy of you writing them down, gives your goals power!

She utilizes these tools to guide her clients to joyful and successful lives. Nancy is the author of Wake Up! The Universe Is Speaking To You. www.TheEnergyProphet.com

Reclaming Your True Self

By Angela Dunning

Inhabiting the Liminal Space The vital period between endings and new beginnings… Last month I wrote about the importance of conscious endings and how to release something from your life in an authentic and fruitful way. At the beginning of the New Year there is always much talk of new beginnings; it is a time which is ripe with the potential to birth something new. Yet, there is a vital period between the old and the new; that essential gestation period which is sometimes referred to in the beautiful way as “the liminal space”; (liminal comes from the Latin word ‘limin’ or limen’, meaning threshold).

42 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

In our busy modern lives we often overlook the necessity of this phase. Instead, we are always in a hurry to rush on to the next, shiny new thing which excites us. But, this rushing curtails any essential grieving or sadness we may need to feel after letting go of something. It also doesn’t allow for the genuine birthing and growth of something new and of substance to take its place. This process does not happen overnight, no matter how much we may desire it.

this place as “groundless,” and says that, “The way forward is still concealed from you”. Where “The new is still too young to be born”.

This gestation period or liminal space is vital as it involves both a crucial decomposition of the old and the creation of solid foundations for the new. It often involves healing, learning and preparation for the new. So it is indeed, a very important period and process to embrace fully and to allow to happen naturally in its own time.

The central factor during this time then it seems, is that it is very important not to try to force the new to arrive before it is truly ready; not to rush this phase and not try to run before we can walk. Whether it is grieving a loss, a significant change in our career, recovering from an illness or accident, or the end of a relationship we must honour the loss and make time to create the new. It really is a two-way process, one very much like the physical act of pregnancy and birth. A mother may want this pregnancy to be over already and to meet her unknown child, but, wait she must, until the little one is ready to make her appearance into her mother’s life. This as we know, simply can never be rushed.

This period can last a few weeks, months or even years. I have found for myself that the nine month period often plays an important part quite naturally during such transitions, as does the first year anniversary of the ending; both often triggering the ending of the liminal phase and the true beginning of the new chapter. This in-between period can sometimes last a number of years in circumstances where the loss is significant and utterly life-changing. There is no doubt though that this period can be an uncomfortable, disorienting and lonely time. We are in unfamiliar territory and thus it can be filled with uncertainty, as we do not yet know or see what wants to be born to replace that which we have let go of. We simply have to wait. Holding the tension of no longer having what we released nor yet knowing what is to come. We have to sit, in the psychic darkness, very much like a seed beneath the soil, patiently waiting, waiting… Enduring this kind of anxiety and lack of certainty is not something many of us are good at and, on top of this, our culture does not actively support such periods of introspection and gestation, so we often feel added pressure to begin anew again sooner than we might actually be ready to. Temporary, practical solutions may be required during this period so that we can get-by sufficiently while the new is being fully formed. For example, if we have ended one career to begin a new one we may need to take a temporary job in order to still pay our bills and buy food while we re-train. In addition, our family and friends may not be certain how to relate to us during this time, as change is uncomfortable for those around us too. Our ending may have also led to knock-on effects in our relationships: We may have had to let go of colleagues, friends or even a life-partner, again, to make space for the new to come in. In John O’Donohue’s poem, For the Interim Time, he describes 44 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

So, this phase can be messy, complex and often, not in the least-bit straight forward or linear. It requires a brave, courageous heart to hang-in there and the support of people we do trust not to rush us but rather to cheer us on into the unknown.

If we practice these transitional phases as if they are a gestation period then this can help us to calm down, breathe and feel able to continue waiting. Until that ripe time when the new is thrust onto our personal horizon and ready to meet and engage with us; all we can do is wait. Ears are for those who can truly hear, and eyes are for those who can truly see. Within you is a heart that arises in higher vibrations as it begins to flow its understanding with a beautiful compassion. You preempt your pride, your ego. Ask yourself‌..Is your heart humbled to hear the eternal whisperings from divine? As you face towards the light of divine, you hear the heart of heaven. If you are seeking the light, then seek the light with a heartfelt joy, do not give sadness or hardness to your heart, except a pure stream of joy and an unwavering faith. What you knew before, may have held many flaws, so unlearn what you thought you learned, as that learning never took you to the doors of wisdom. It only took you to the threshold. All that you thought was mostly, full of illusions until the gold of light burnt all that to dust. There is a sun of truths, from which all the truths emanate. In the light of that truth, do we unlearn all the illusions of earlier so-called learning and relearn everything in the glory of that light. Such deep and authentic can be that learning in the humbleness of our spirits, in the receptivity of our hearts. You enter inside a state of harmonious evolution and divine flow, gazing at the light, as this light penetrates your soul and bathes you in a light of truth.

You open yourself to the healing and the spiritual power of beyond. The wisdom that gives you the key to unlock many doors. In its essence, it can be the purest form of divine attunement, that allows you to reach and touch the invisible hands of divine. You absorb the light that carries the truth and you become a bearer of lights and carry it wherever you go in this universe. But to carry this light into this world, needs you to be open and receptive to the spiritual message from the divine. It takes enormous courage to be open and vulnerable, to show and share your dreams with someone, to reveal your suffering to others, to let out your emotions in the open, so they can heal in the light of love and compassion that can stream from others. Openness induces a receptivity for spiritual messages, whisperings of unconditional love that can create an elixir of bonding between souls. And it is from this fragrance, that you feel and sense the divine in other souls, see God dwelling in other sanctuaries and can be the messiah of light yourself. Such is the receptivity, the much- needed openness that can create you into someone who can carry the light of truth in a world that has gone so insane with pain. Even the most incomprehensible pain seems to be comprehensible, the most unforgiving situations can seem to see a light somewhere, as you become receptive in the light of divine. As you bow down in grace and humility, you become receptive to let the light in and heal you in places that were once thought of as unhealable. We learn and grow as the sacred alchemy begins within us in the effulgence of a divine light. You become free as you let the light of receptivity fill you from inside. A beautiful gift may not be wrapped as we expect them to be, but it is still a gift. The light can penetrate the veil that exists between you and the wonders of life. You give your gratitude for even a glimpse of the celestial vista of life, and the light falls on you everywhere. With gratitude, comes the willingness to be receptive at your very core. Gratitude brings the beauty of being able to surrender to the divine and accept all that he gifts your life with. While you receive his gifts, somewhere in your life, as you re-gift him with your grace and gratitude, that becomes your way of gifting the divine with all that you have. Your heart may tremble, your soul may tremble, but this is a wonderful opening, a beautiful sharing that you experience with the divine. You encounter the richest feeling in life, one that takes your pain and melts them into an unending ecstasy, takes your grief and turnsthem to a joy, a joy that you can no longer hold within, but it madly and wildly spills out everywhere. As you know, that this trembling has never happened before, it takes your needs, your desires and turns them to a wild wine of divine, drinking which, you dance everywhere, in the smell of a breeze, in the scent of

a flower, in the flying of a melody, in the richness of a music and you behold a celestial beauty in everything. It is this letting in that lets you sense the beauty in all that you see and all that you smell. Your very living becomes an art, an art of how to keep the spark alive in every breath, in every moment. Share yourself openly and authentically from wherever you are in the moment, and you will be heard. Let your emotions flow openly, in a stream of new release, and this streaming will release things from ancient times that wrote their pages on your soul, for years and years. And in your openness, love will find you and bless you. As you supple, you open to a world of possibilities. As you open, your flowering begins. Your soul opens petal by petal. This is your inner flowering.

We’ve all experienced it in one way or another. Is there a difference between them?

Envy & Jealousy "It Ain’t Easy Being Green"

Yes! Envy vs. Jealousy. The easiest way to remember the difference is that Envy is the emotion when you want a possession that someone else has. Jealousy is the emotion when you fear you may be replaced in the affection of someone you love or desire. (Both are not our best human traits). In Roman Catholicism it is considered one of the seven deadly sins. There are not too many people who would argue for the positive influence of envy in our lives. How it can spiral into depression, lead us to become resentful and bitter, fostering discontentment, torment, even heartbreak, binding our freedom, and causing us to do things we normally wouldn’t do. Yet, the wasted emotions of envy and jealousy are all around us - a constant struggle, a battle between heart and soul. Resentment over other people’s beauty, style, talent, energy, relationships or finances brings nothing positive to our daily lives. Still, we allow it. Is there a way to free ourselves from it? Can we overcome it? Yes, I believe we can. Counting our blessings is a good start. Reminding ourselves that we are worthy of life’s gifts and that they are uniquely ours. Stop comparing your life to someone else’s. (As if theirs is perfect in some way and ours is less than). How could we possibly know? And why feed the need to compare? Superficial people lead us into a trap. The trap being the constant reminder of what they have compared to what you don’t, or the “can you top this,” or “mine is bigger or better than yours” way of thinking. It’s not a healthy competition but a form of bullying that can lead the insecure into a very unhealthy competition of self-worth. End the game and if need be the players. Consider spending more time with people who bring joy, laughter, loyalty, consistency, and fun to your life and less comparison. Invest in gratitude positivity and energy. Seek your worth in the traits that are not "enviable" but inspirational. Strive to own those. Change your verbiage. Find happiness in the success of others. Look for your reflection in others and celebrate the good in what you see. Find ways to give back. Charities, volunteer work perhaps? Spend time with people with less and share your “riches” with them in whatever capacity you can afford. Whether it be money, time, energy, knowledge or skill. It’s an amazing sense of accomplishment to share, pay forward and reward. It strengthens and polishes the armor required for us to protect ourselves against the weakness that jealousy and envy feed off of in order to live within us. We are better without them. Much better.

52 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

“Living on Vacation” is not just the title for this article. It is my motto in life. It is a statement that is at the core of all my values, both inherited and acquired. As an Italian, I was raised in a culture that encourages stress-free living by balancing relaxation, enjoyment, work, and communal bonding. Most of us were raised being told that in order to achieve our goals, we must follow a set of steps diligently. I beg to differ. I have found that having a vision is important, but a sense of trust that allows us to detach ourselves from fear or expectations is crucial in making the process more fun and less stressful. Read this carefully: our experiences are a reflection of our inner states, thoughts and feelings. Our truths are perceived through the lens of our own personal beliefs. Now read it again. Do you fully grasp it? Because when you allow yourself to comprehend this simple concept, you will realize that you are the greatest creator of your own destiny. That’s a lot of power! But don’t mistake that with the concept of having to “fight for your dream”. We hear this sentence all the time… “fight for your dream”. It’s a paradox. Think about it. Dreams allude to a sense of serenity, and the word “fight” does not really seem to fit in there. The journey to achieve your dream and recognize your power should be filled with enjoyments, not struggles. With all the stress-induced psychological and physiological problems that people are facing today, I can’t help but ask: are we really designed to fight for our dreams? A few years ago, I was one of the thousands of underpaid science researchers living in the suburbs of Milan, hoping that one day I will get out of the rat race. I was putting in 80-hour workweeks without any extra pay. And every time I was promoted, I would look at my paycheck and realize that the only increase was the number of hours in the lab. My life was a mess and I thought the only way out was to battle even harder for a better job, a decent salary and an occasional day off. In retrospect, it seems a little counterintuitive considering it was what I had been doing up to that point anyway. And then one day, it happened. Without any previous research or desire, I came across Reconnective Healing and decided to give it a shot. I overlooked my skepticism and received three sessions, and then opted for the once-ina-life time session of The Reconnection.

During that journey, I started to consider my options in life, and whether the only card I had in my hands was to keep trying my hardest to achieve a certain goal that I may or may not attain. A deep sense of Trust in something beyond myself, and within myself at the same time, started to gradually strengthen inside me. It was a very subtle knowingness that gave me such a powerful clarity in the limitless potential that I was able to express and give back to the world. It was like being at a restaurant and suddenly realizing that I wasn’t supposed to go into the kitchen, grab the chef ’s apron and cook my own dish. I was actually not even allowed to step into the kitchen itself! My only job was simply to look at the menu, choose a meal, place the order, and sip on a glass of wine and have great conversation without doubting for a moment that the dish I ordered will come to me. And, day-by-day, I practiced the marvelous art of gratitude for what I already had, with humility, discipline, and the crucial process of self-observation that let me recognize the sad recital I had been playing for years. By doing that, I gradually allowed myself to expand my vision, focus on what was making my heart sing and detach myself from all the false preconceptions that were holding me back from reaching my true full potential. I began to witness the beauty of the blossoming process of the ever-evolving creation of my wondrous present... and future! Reconnective Healing and The Reconnection played a critical role in bringing a deep state of lucidity that allows us to shift from being run by our society to having certainty that our World always takes the best care of us. When we step into this new awareness, we truly comprehend that there is no battle to fight, no tests to undertake. We simply remind ourselves that the same creative force that makes the sun rise every day and forms babies from one tiny cell is also able to orchestrate the most extraordinary adventure that effortlessly transforms our life into a great Vacation. After all, those values were at the foundation of Roman-based traditions, and those guys built one of the biggest empires in history! So whatever it is that you envision with trust and certainty, don’t worry, you will get there.

HEAL YOUR FAMILY By the Magui Block method

56 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

My almost perfect life turned upside down when my first child was born. He was a special baby because he only slept if he was held and rocked, never in a bed. He seemed healthy and strong but I was drained and frustrated by the situation. When he was six months old, I felt something was wrong and I took him to the hospital in the middle of the night. I was shocked when the doctor said he needed to go to surgery immediately to untangle his intestines to save his life. My baby was 10 hours in the operating room. This was the beginning of a series of hospitalizations. Every two or three months we were again fighting for his life. When in the hospital, he was tied to a bed because he was pulling out the many tubes to which he was connected. He had always been in my arms but now I could not hug him at all. The happy, chubby baby who only ate breast milk had become a weak, sad and angry baby. We both were suffering a lot. I thought I was missing something important and that this was the cause of our nightmare. I took him to the best specialists, both traditional medicine and alternative; some helped, some did not. My son kept going in and out the hospital and I was desperate to find a solution, so I looked for all possible options, even the strangest ones. From as early as I can remember, I had the ability to perceive in a special way what was going on around me. I had psychic abilities and would observe people´s problems and find solutions for them. By the time I reached university age, I became convinced that I was weird. I decided to study something that would give me structure and make me feel normal. I chose to pursue a Bachelor´s Degree in Business Administration and, upon graduation, began working. But, despite my “normal” education and career, I continued to have an interest in psychotherapy. During the following fifteen years, I completed study

in multiple specialties in the field of healing, including family therapy. While studying, I learned to use my psychic gifts with people at work and also offered private consultations. Now I was using these gifts and all my knowledge to find a path to health for my son. It was very painful to witnessing his suffering. I turned to Family Constellations, a form of family therapy, and determined that my son was getting sick out of loyalty to certain members of his family system. I looked for help with the best therapist in the field and did a lot of work clearing ancestral patterns. Still there seemed to be no solution—there was a family secret and, until it was uncovered, the life of my child was at risk. I asked everyone who might know about the secret, but no one had the answer. It was very painful for the whole family, that my son, by then 3 years old, was carrying something that belonged to someone else. It did not make any sense! I was not willing to accept this. I believed that any family member could access the family field, get the information needed, transform the family system and heal my son. I did not know how to do it yet, but I was hoping to find the way. Things got even worse. Over the next few years, my family and I went through extremely difficult situations: health problems, hospitalizations, deaths, depression, my husband losing his job, even violent situations like robberies and assaults. Conflicts appeared in all areas of life—health, family, friends, profession, finances, and relationships—and I kept looking for answers, learning and creating new ways to face the problems in my own life. Finally, I developed a unique healing method and my son, who was my primary motivator, got well. It was a very difficult period and I did not rest at all. But it was worth it to see my son alive and healthy. 57 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

I had the perfect family to teach me how to create the Magui Block method for transforming family patterns. I used my psychic abilities to connect with the family system field and downloaded all the possible patterns that could be generating the problems. I then identified possible solutions and created protocols with the steps to heal. When I started using these protocols with my own family, the transformation and healing was fast, easy and painless. I was able to heal my son working remotely, doing the work on myself, which was necessary since he was still a baby. I was so happy to find this path that I started using it in my private practice. When I got overwhelmed with clients and the waiting list became too long, I decided to write manuals and train other facilitators to be able to help more people. Everybody was loving it. All the protocols have the same structure, and anyone that is healthy and knows how to read and write can learn to use it for themselves or others in a seminar. In order to help more people to heal, I have released my first book, “Heal Your Family”, which shares my method to free people from family patterns and get love and life to flow from our ancestors to us and our children. I also offer seminars to teach people how to use the method for themselves or others. What Is the Magui Block Method and How Does It Work? The Magui Block Method combines the most advanced techniques in psychotherapy in a unique way to get effective results in an extraordinarily short time. Although I take elements and ideas from many teachers, the main support for the Method comes from Bert Hellinger, the creator of Family Constellations. I also include knowledge from other schools, trainings, and techniques and from my own personal experience, as well as the experiences of my clients. The influences I want to mention are: • Family Constellations • Resonance Repatterning • Ericksonian hypnosis • Gestalt psychotherapy • Person-centered focus • ZhiNeng QiGong • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) • Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT) • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

58 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

As I continually create new ways of resolving client/family conflict, the method continues to grow and evolve, but what has stood the test of time is how it works. I can summarize it in the following three movements that occur when you achieve positive change: 1. You identify the entanglement, the negative aspects, the problem—whatever it is that keeps you trapped in a situation of conflict. 2. You identify the resource—what you need instead of the conflict. In other words, the solution. 3. You transform yourself. This is where the magic lies! When you put all the pieces together, a change occurs—a leap if you will—and you find yourself in a new place where the problem seems very distant and small. During practice, each of these movements can take place through various smaller movements, in a different order, or they can be combined in one unified movement. The important thing is for you to transform, and you do that by acknowledging your problem and integrating the resources that are missing. There are many ways of achieving this, but I like that it happens through love and, if possible, a dash of humor as well.

LANGUAGE OF SPACE

By Michael White Ryan

In a world of chance or is it preordained, to be successful in business and have the freedom to embrace the material world or go beyond servitude and delve the depths of who am I and live forever free. For decades the unknown homo-sapien wars were all that existed for the majority. Bound/coupled to this universal conundrum, silently hidden, existed an idea that this human energy has the potential of evolution. No longer to remain living a split existence, for we are told, transcendence comes with a much greater gift. Confined within the darkness of our transparency, these energetic forces, have been conspiring their inevitable continued journey into the light. Interestingly, we think we now live in a world of transparency and still we don’t trust. What continues to amaze me in this time of knowing, we are still seeing the world as singular components, while sprouting the concepts of…all is connection??? I must admit it is difficult to see/grasp the idea, there are no differences in difference. Even so, think hard about this, for as long as we see through the eyes of experiences, we will remain blind to the world around us. Think for a moment, places of familiarity are no longer noticeable, unless still functioning in tradition, and let’s face it, tradition with all its goodness and benefits given to man over the centuries, is stuck to the sidewalk like a piece of chewing gum. A person who will not change is considered stubborn, tradition that doesn’t change is a blessing, and both exist as truths, really??? As if anything you do will ever make a difference Beautiful ideas are just that, we postulate/assume the idea of changing the world (a mindset concept) that will chase all the shadows away. My favorite coffee shop has a slogan “life’s better buzzed” and through the same hype, we function accordingly forward. Forward, what an interesting word! When you find a minute free, ask this question, are you thinking-forward, continually placing the past in your future, or are you functioning from a forward-thinking approach, leaving the future free. For you to explore, this life, this living, this self!!! 60 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

Born To Live And Breathe The Great Divine

That sweet-talking lady, now bursting forth, has contemplated and decided, to run into the darkest of swamps. I can’t help wondering, reminds me of the story, is this little red riding hood on her way to meet the wolf, as in plural. Ideas come and go, we see the world through rose-colored experiences to live from a mindset of love and hope. Respect nowadays, is an enlightened being, nailing a sign to a convenient tree trunk to sell you, your future!!! If today is yesterday, then how did it get past my awareness, and arrive slap down into my future-now! The worlds-mindset is out of its closet. Every time you set eyes upon, communicate to a stranger/friend/human, become aware it’s really a mirror on two legs prancing around the universe, reflecting back on said self, all those unfulfilled life lessons you have not been paying any attention to. For if you wake up when your ah-ha alarm-bell goes ring ding ding find your rabbit hole or forever remain repetition repetition repetition of course, none of this is true Radiance, evolve, I phone-spirituality, are all worth exploring to the end-depths, for the sake of our soul. For each individual, the scary facts remain. There exist within one and all, thousands upon thousands of rabbit holes all leading to the one connected source and all are known. The tree of life was not drawn as a tree because someone believed we were born from the origin of monkeys, and they lived in trees! Confusion radiates out, now that we recognize we are a multi-universe, who am I looking for and where do I start? Are we not great! The greatest rivers on the face of Gaia all began at their source We keep believing those false empty past phrases, knowledge is power, and we believe, we actually have a choice in becoming/achieving all our wants, goals and desires. But, when we go a little deeper and ask the right question, what personal value do these energetic motives consist of, which are driving the end-goal of all three needs! It is unfortunate our choices come from the latest and greatest book, lecture, coach, whatever and not from the divine-self, whatever that is? It’s the catch-up-story of the century. The creatives are on the prowl, empowering/birthing the untapped into existence. Us, the sheeples trying to be free of the 9-2-5, automate our existence to lay on sandy beaches, selfizing our beingness into the wonders of suffocation-bliss.

It’s the great divide, sit on the mountain, loose the human race and dine in the forever searching enlightened bliss and wash dishes. Or, follow the path of the well-trodden, do as the successful people do, become one of the wealthy them, enjoy freedom with money, divorce a few times and eat of the fruits of life and…. The path is short, the path is long, it’s yours and yours alone, follow what may in faith. May the blessings of the extinct du du bird officially classified as critically endangered, possibly extinct, rain upon you. Known only from the two pre-BC specimens, as their only known habitat site has been destroyed/not yet found. However, the bird's distribution to humanities resolve remains unresolved. Blessings and Cleverness joined together in matrimony will keep us divorced

Los Angeles Animal Advocacy Group LADY FREETHINKER Shuts Down Illegal Dog Fighter in South America LOS ANGELES, CA– December 18, 2018 ¬¬¬– An undercover investigation near Santiago, Chile, by Los Angeles-based animal rights organization Lady Freethinker has resulted in the seizure of 21 dogs from an alleged illegal dog breeder who is also a known dogfighting organizer. In June of this year, LFT sent an undercover reporter to the property of Gonzalo Ariel Rebolledo Robles in the town of Llay Llay, and secretly filmed footage of nearly two dozen dogs living in deplorable conditions. All were sick, wounded and starving. Now for the first time, the footage that led to the arrest of the man, is being released to the public. The LFT video reveals, among other things: • Dogs kept on short, heavy chains or in small, filthy kennels with no food or water. Their otherwise-empty bowls were coated in green slime. • One pit bull has scars and wounds on his neck consistent with those of dog fights. Many dogs had eye infections or other untreated ailments. • Three dogs were already dead, their bodies decomposing on the ground. Veterinary examiners believe they starved to death. • More than 30 hens and cockfighting roosters were also caged on the premises. Armed with LTF’s overwhelming evidence, Chilean police raided Robles’ property on Sunday July 22. An investigation team and veterinarian examined each animal and recorded their health and living conditions. After finding that they did not meet the legal standards of care for animals in Chile, Robles was arrested. Unfortunately, it was not the Robles’ first bout with the law. He has been charged twice before for organizing dogfights and illegally breeding dogs for dogfighting.

62 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

In 2016, Robles’ property was previously exposed as a cruel breeding facility in the Chilean documentary Perros de Pelea: Juego Perverso (Fighting Dogs: Perverse Game), in which an undercover reporter for Santiago’s MEGA television network revealed the inner workings of the cruel dogfighting culture in the region. However, authorities failed to act at the time. “The rescue of these 21 dogs fated for a life of cruelty is a tremendous win for the animals in Chile, and the activists fighting for their rights,” said Nina Jackel, founder of Lady Freethinker. “We applaud law enforcement and the compassionate veterinarians and rescuers who saved these dogs’ lives, and hope to see Chilean officials take a strong stand against animal cruelty in the nation.” All surviving dogs have been adopted by locals and are now getting the love, attention and care that they deserve. Help Lady Freethinker call on the Chilean judicial system to take dogfighting cases more seriously, so that criminals like Robles face stern consequences after their first offence, and do not slip through the judicial system’s cracks. Sign the petition here: https://ladyfreethinker.org/sign-justice-dogs-brutalized-dogfighting-chile/ ABOUT LADY FREETHINKER: Founded in 2013, LFT is a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization dedicated to exposing and stopping the suffering of animals, humans and planet. Through its undercover investigations, news reporting, and petitions, LFT aims to end cruelty and promote humane treatment of all species. With donor support, LFT also provides direct aid to animals in desperate situations, bringing to light suffering that may otherwise go ignored. SWEETNESS My Beloved Children of Heart, “Greetings! Today I welcome each of you into My Heart. It is a place of great love, where you can feel the joy flowing to you more easily. I welcome you into this beautiful place. It is a sacred place of great love. There are no judgements or measurements of lesser value here. There is only truth and the unconditional love and acceptance of each of you. It is a way to assist you in remembering the greater truth of yourself. For indeed your truth has been a bit hidden from you on your grand adventure. It is now a time for you in your readiness and choosing of course, to begin to deepen your connections to Our Heart. This will bring to your awareness a greater remembering of your truth, your divine nature and purpose. You are purity. You are wisdom. You are joy. You are these and much more which really can be considered undefinable by words or descriptions. The greatest truth for you to know is of your nature. You are love. You are the divine. Your truth is forever. The self of you on your journey of discovery is remembering this holy truth. Each piece you remember leads to the next and to the next. As you discover these truths, you begin to expand and develop your many divine attributes. These discoveries lead you to recognize even more abilities and gifts. As you develop your innate abilities, you will discover even more as it calls to you from your heart. You build upon each awareness. Your consciousness opens to see and experience your life in new and exciting ways. Imagine now that you are reaching a point where you will begin to truly know truth. What will this offer to you? As you release from limiting perceptions and beliefs, you open to divine truth. This allows many windows of opportunities to present before you. Imagine what wonder you will see and experience with these new opportunities! These were planned for you by you in the bigger plan you have written for your life journey before you incarnated.

65 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM eJanuary 2019

The seeds of these opportunities were planted long before. They are now awakening to be discovered, fueled and blossomed into the fulfillment of their destinies.

It has been a great adventure. Now you are moving into the greater awareness of what is truth. Your adventure is about to expand into even more excitement.

You have a plan, a great destiny. The shift in focus is beginning to change from pathways of diversions, experiences of illusion of truth, to the realization of the divine truth of your nature and the truth of all that is.

The joy of these words fills your heart as you recognize this truth. The sweetness of knowing is here. Drink of the sweetness of truth. Blossom in the joy of your heart. Live your life in the lightness which is your truth. You are My Children of light. Shamon”

I can feel your excitement as these words are spoken to you through our heart connection. I know of your joy in reaching this time of great promise, this time of the unfolding of great wonder. You are ready to proceed. Accept and allow yourself to receive the streams of light flowing to you, to uplift, to enlighten and to inspire. The blessings are here for you to choose to accept. As you allow these many gifts into yourself, you will begin to feel yourself and your life journey lighten. It will feel as if someone has gifted you with a release from the burdens of the past. It will feel like gateways are open leading you to the freedom, the peace and the joy that you have desired. Each little spark of awareness has its own blessings. Each adds to the recipe you have designed and are designing for fulfilment of your dreams and purpose. Begin to spend some time pondering on your dreams. Connect with your heart through joyful thoughts and experiences. Let your heart guide you and be open to receive. Your journey is blossoming into more because you are blossoming. Your seeds of truth are being showered upon by each thought of joy, peace, unity and love. The more you focus on joy, peace, unity and love, the more you experience these flavors of delight. Love expands and becomes more. You expand and become more of your truth, living and expressing that delight. Your opportunity to become all that you desire is here to be realized. The greatest fulfillment in life is awareness of truth. To know who you are is the greatest gift of joy. To know this truth is to know great love. Celebrate yourself. Celebrate your life journey for it has brought you to where you are now. Know that the days ahead are filled with great promise. There are no limits to possibilities. All limitations are based on nontruth. 66 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

The

Importance of Relaxation

68 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

69 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

The start of the New Year brings new beginnings and opportunities to improve our life for the better. Many of us make resolutions that unfortunately we do not keep properly because some of them are unrealistic.

Indulge in a hot bath Warm water loosens up muscles, takes away tension from your body making you feel relaxed and will lighten your mind.

I like to suggest a “Practice of Relaxation” as a resolution that is easy and enjoyable to follow. Relaxation is very important in our lives as it helps to keep our stress levels down and consequently improves our health, how we feel and look. Reducing stress lowers levels of skin-damaging cortisol, the hormone that causes unwanted breakouts and premature skin aging.

Get a pet No secret to us animal lovers that there is something incredibly comforting in coming home to a loving animal waiting to greet us with kisses and waging tails. No matter how bad and stressful our day might have been, that unconditional love helps us immediately reduce stress and anxiety. Research has shown that spending some time playing with a pet can relieve you of most tension and fatigue. Playing with a pet increases brain activity and enhances pleasure and tranquility.

This coming year we can easy include some things into our daily lives to help us slow down, relax, elevate our mood and reduce stress. Get a massage or a facial treatment Besides feeling great, massage increases the blood flow and stimulates cellular oxygenation to the muscles. That action reduces pain and increases mobility in our bodies. Facial massage reduces swelling, stimulates collagen production and increases hydration of the skin. Practice Meditation Many people find it hard time to relax. If you are a busy person, committing to a long practice of meditation might not fit into your daily schedule. But taking as little as ten to twenty minutes a day to simply sit quietly and concentrate on your breath, or listen to a guided meditation will help to restore your mind and body. Relax with some music Music is a great way to relax, relieve stress and anxieties. Studies showed that slow, gentle, soothing music can improve learning, creativity and memory. Music that has a tempo of 60 beats a minute slows down the heart rate, breathing rate and lets you relax into a deep level of rest. When my clients are receiving a facial massage while listening to music they experience deep calm and often fall asleep. Those short naps help them improve brain function and decrease fatigue. Take a walk We spend too many hours working at desks in front of computers or sitting in cars during traffic hours. I heard that “sitting is the new smoking”. We cannot quit our jobs or avoid traffic but we can fit some time to get up, stretch and take a walk. Whenever possible take a nature walk. Research shows that regular walking actually modifies your nervous system so much that people notice a decrease in anger and hostility. Getting away from ringtones, traffic and other noise and listening instead to the sounds of nature reduces stress, depression and speeds up healing process in our bodies.

If you cannot have a pet in your house, you can volunteer at the animal shelter. Besides helping animals you will be helping yourself to feel more happy and relaxed. So my New Years resolution is to take my two dogs Mona and Vinnie on longer walks. Hope you will make a resolution of relaxation that is easy and enjoyable as mine! To your health!

Save Our Planet, Prevent Global Warming, Go Green By Michael Pepper

In the quest to save our planet and prevent global warming it seems that everyone is going green nowadays. The newspapers and magazines are full of articles about saving electricity, climate change and global warming. If we all do our little bit for the environment, many of those little steps will make our lives better and the future brighter for our children. There is a lot you can do to cut back on your household's electricity consumption. Small things like switching off lights and unplugging appliances when you are not using them. In winter you can make sure that all the windows and doors are kept closed to keep in the heat while heaters are working. The same goes for the air conditioner in the summer to keep the house cool. To really drive your electricity bill down even further there are tactics and technologies that can make a difference. Using solar powered water heaters will reduce your consumption considerably. Geysers are the biggest energy gobblers and are responsible for one third of your electricity bill. Solar water heaters can retain heat for long periods of time. The good news is that you will cover your investment within seven years.

All is connected... no one thing can change by itself. ~ Paul Hawken

If you do not have the cash to install a solar water heater there are measures that you can take to manage your geyser. Switch off your geyser between 06:00 and 18:00 everyday and remember to do switch off when you go on vacation. Turn the thermostat down to sixty degrees. Insulating the geyser and pipes will help to reduce heat loss. There are energy and water saving shower heads that flow at a rate of less than ten liters per minute. The old type operates at fifteen liters per minute so the saving is huge. They aerate the water or channel it into streams to give you a good spray from the shower head. Lighting is responsible for twenty percent of all household electricity consumption. There is a world wide campaign towards more energy efficient lighting. Compact Fluorescent Lamps use twenty percent of the energy used to power incandescent bulbs and they produce the same amount of light. They also last six times longer than the conventional type. You can make a difference to the global warming effect, so get smart about how you use electricity around the home. Lighten the load on your pocket and conserve the earth's precious energy resources. It is now more important than ever to find the best solution to the energy problems for the future generations to come. If you want to save money I have the perfect solution for you. Got to my website www.michaelpepper-online.net, to find out how. 73 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

The Mindful Tax and Money Guide By Miriam Bertke

74 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

I

ntroduction to

Estate Planning

What’s in an estate? Your estate is simply, everything that you own. It consists of your investments such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities, bank accounts, your retirement accounts, real estate and life insurance policies. It also consists of your stuff, like furniture, appliances, jewelry, collectibles and all other items of personal property. The value of your estate is the value of all these assets, less mortgages and any other debt. What does estate planning mean to you? Estate planning is the process of planning, is the process of anticipating and arranging, during a person’s life, for the management and disposition of your assets and resources during your life and when you are deceased or no longer able to manage your own affairs. While most people think estate planning is just worrying about assets or minimizing income and estate taxes, it is really much more. Estate planning is really about accomplishing your goals during your life and beyond. Although many people share similar goals, the process of estate planning involves identifying your own specific goals. Since we are all different, the estate planning process will be very different from person to person.

I’d like to wish you all Happy New Year, may this year brings you abundance of love, health, money and success. Every year most of you try to set up your new year’s goals and resolutions, planning for the new year and years to come, not just for yourself but also for your loved ones. There are probably many questions and thoughts that are in your mind. Some of them might be even questions like these - What will happen to me if I become mentally incapacitated? Who will make medical decisions for me if I cannot? Who will care for my minor children if I or my spouse cannot? Would I like to financially “incentivize” my children to achieve certain goals? These questions are important part of estate planning. Let’s look at this a little closer.

It’s not how much wealth you have accumulated that’s important, its about what and who are important to you. Look at this example: Widow with two grown children who has only a house and $300,000 from a life insurance policy on her late husband. Does she need estate planning to protect herself and her two children? To some people, $300,000 isn’t a lot of money. The widow wants to be assured that she can live in comfort in her own home. What if one of her children has a drug problem? Wouldn’t she worry that he will just spend it on drugs whatever amount she leaves him at her death? Wouldn’t she feel better leaving money to him in such a way that it could be used for his rehabilitation? It’s not whether you have an estate that requires planning, it’s whether planning will provide you with a sense of comfort and well-being about your and your family’s future.

75 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

What are some estate planning goals? Goal #1 - Plan for loved ones Goal #2 - Plan to pass on your legacy Goal #3 - Plan to avoid probate and intestacy Goal #4 - Plan to minimize taxes Goal #5 - Plan for disability

crucial decisions for their loved ones without the proper authorization or understanding of what their loved ones want done. With proper planning, you can control your financial and personal affairs while you are well and competent and can leave instructions for how your affairs should be managed.

Q: How do you determine what your goals are? People plan their estate and determine their goals because they care about their loved ones. For example one of your goals might be wanted to reduce your estate taxes, making sure that your spouse will be taking care off, passing on your money to your children, deciding who will take care of your minor children if you or your spouse cannot, who will make medical decisions for you if you cannot, you might like to pay the cost of your grandchildren’s college education, or making a large donation to your favorite charity.

Planning for loved ones gives you an option how and when to give what you own to your spouse, children, grandchildren, and to charity. It gives you a tremendous opportunities to ensure that your heirs receive your property in a manner that best fits their needs and your goals.

Q: How do you begin the estate planning process? It requires thinking about what things will be like after you’re gone. No one likes to think about his or her own mortality. Here are some points from which to start: - Organize your affairs to develop an accurate picture of your estate. - Analyze your current plan, if you have will or trust, how your assets are titled. - Look into the future. Your assets will most likely to grow in value. - Have an open dialogue regarding your wishes with your loved one. Q: Who can help you to develop your estate plan? Your planning team should be consist of an attorney, an accountant, a securities broker, a life insurance agent, and a financial advisor. Plan to maintain control. Whether we consciously think about it or not, we all want to control our financial and personal affairs while we are mentally and physically capable of doing so. Most of us have had the experience of watching parents or grandparents mentally decline while determined not to relinquish decision-making control over their financial and personal affairs. Many of us seen the results of individuals and families thrown into the position of having to make

An Interview with Jeff Witzeman Film Director of documentary movies "Cancer Can Be Killed", "Flipping the Script: When Parents Fight Back"

What inspired you to make the documentary films “Flipping the Script” and “Cancer Can Be Killed”? I got tired of trying to explain cancer treatment that worked, lol. It seems like a picture is worth a thousand words. And the forces that work against us as cancer patients are legion. We don’t stand a chance. I consider myself a pretty evolved human being able to see through a lot of money driven mandates out there. But when that doctor looked us in the eye and said, “There is no way you could treat this cancer naturally in Germany (referring to my wife’s bladder cancer), it’s far too aggressive,” I have to admit my knees buckled. But after natural treatment worked and my wife was cancer free, I just had to get the word out. How long did it take to make this new documentary? Flipping The Script took only nine months to make, but we were feeling like without this information getting out to the public immediately, children were going to keep dying. And we literally saved children’s lives while making the film so at this point it doesn’t matter what happens with the film, everything was worth it. Your film inspires many people around the world, what message are you trying to send? The message really is that cancer is just a symptom of something being out of balance, that it’s possible to restore the body to balance and the cancer goes away. The body can heal itself. It takes work, but it’s the way life is designed. People that do natural cancer treatment and change their lives are better after the cancer than before. Think about that for a second. We are told that cancer is life threatening and so you have to do all these toxic things to treat it (chemo, radiation, radical sur-

78 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019

gery). But the conventional methods are all profit driven and they make people’s lives WORSE afterwards. When anyone does the research for themselves, they find out what actually heals the body and then they are able to make that leap of getting a healthy distrust for profit driven healthcare. I’m really just trying to provide irrefutable evidence for what people already know in their hearts . . . then hopefully give them the courage to take the steps they need to take. Is this treatment affordable for everyone? Surprisingly it is. There are so many ways to kill cancer. The dirt cheap protocol is cannabis oil, probiotics and enzymes and a plant based diet. Now you may have to move from where you live to get what you need, but the actual treatment can be very affordable. Or let’s take our experience. We paid $28,500 to get Hyperthermia, Ozone therapy and IV nutrients in Germany. And since there are no follow up drugs, that’s all we paid. My friends doing conventional treatment had co-pays in the $10,000 range and then have follow up drugs at around $600/month . . . and they feel like crap! So over a three year period, we have them beat. I’d say natural treatment is not only more affordable, it’s more sustainable.

The message really is that cancer is just a symptom of something being out of balance, that it’s possible to restore the body to balance and the cancer goes away.

In your opinion how can the patient decide if holistic treatment is right for them? Get all the information about your situation including from your profit driven western medical doctor. Then talk to someone like myself or others who have been through what you are going through and make an educated decision. The hardest thing facing the cancer patient or parent with a child with cancer is letting go of their dependency on the person in the white lab coat to tell them what to do. So it’s really a bit of a risk isn’t it? It starts with the willingness to risk trusting one’s own instincts, getting a variety of input, and then doing what really works. But what a thrill to turn your life around get connected to the healing power of the universe. Is FDA giving you hard time with this film? And do you think FDA will ever approve the Holistic treatment for cancer? It’s actually the forces BEHIND the FDA that are giving me a hard time. The FDA is basically controlled by the pharmaceutical companies. And not only do they have a huge lobby with Congress, but they have a number of “paid trolls” out there on social media and the internet to try and control the dialogue. Rather than focusing on the solution, their only goal is to protect those in power and those with the patents on big money making drugs. The FDA and the American Medical Association have kept their monopoly in place by not testing anything except drugs . . . and then pointing the finger at any other treatment method or practitioner and saying they are “quacks” or dangerous individuals. I do not believe in my lifetime that the FDA will ever approve Holistic treatment. But what will happen is that we will weaken their power so we don’t need their approval. How many percentage of patients who used Holistic treatment saw the result? 90% in one study here and in other studies. But I prefer other statistics. How many patients were harmed by chemo, radiation and radical surgery? . . . 100%. How many children who went off chemo and chose cannabis oil, nutrition and detox in the film Flipping The Script are thriving today? . . . 100%. How many lies have we been told by our government, doctors, medical schools and media about cancer? . . . too many to number. And to be clear, there are emergency situations where chemo and radical surgery are necessary, but nobody in the medical profession can differentiate between an emergency situation and one where a non-toxic approach would be better as a first treatment option.

They are both on Amazon Prime Videos for all American and UK audiences. Beyond that there are links for the films on Vimeo, iTunes and Google Play at: www.cancercanbekilled.com and www.flippingthescript. com. Do you have any thoughts that you would like to share with our readers. Yes, we’ve been bamboozled for too long. The next phase of humanity is activism. It’s not a question of whether we will do it, it’s just when. Join whoever you believe in and take to the streets. Once those in power, whether it be medically or politically, know that we will no longer tolerate their harming humanity for profit, they will change. I really felt like the film Flipping The Script could be a gateway drug for change. . . actually both movies . . . because they show irrefutable evidence that we are systematically killing children for profit. How did we get here? How is this not known? Facebook and other social media outlets seem to be a good way to promote our movement. Follow whoever you believe in and let’s change the world.

You attended the Sonoma FF. tell us about it. I love the Sonoma Film Festival and was there last spring to screen Cancer Can Be Killed. I believe Flipping The Script has a good chance of being accepted this year. I’m currently buying lottery tickets so I can buy a home up there, it’s so beautiful, ha. How can our readers watch your documentary films? 79 THEEDENMAGAZINE.COM e January 2019
