MIN DONG E HABITS DESIGN
Grammoluce è una lampada da tavolo a luce diffusa caratterizzata da un particolare sistema di accensione e dimmerazione che si basa sul peso esercitato da tre diverse sfere in vetro satinato che appoggiano su un particolare tessuto elastico (Lycra) teso sul bordo circolare della struttura in vetro borosilicato trasparente.
Le sfere di diverso diametro, utilizzabili singolarmente o insieme, deformano con il loro peso il tessuto, creando una superfice che funge da diffusore e assume ogni volta forme diverse.
Il numero e il peso delle sfere posizionate sul tessuto cambiano inoltre, l’intensità e la tonalità della luce emessa, da una sorgente LED bianco dinamico: con un peso leggero la luce è più delicata e calda, aggiungendo peso la luce diventa più intensa e fredda.

Grammoluce is a diffused table lamp defined by an innovative system of switching and dimming that responds to weight. Three frosted glass spheres of different sizes rest on a stretched Lycra® membrane, tensioned over the circular edge of a transparent borosilicate glass structure.
Each sphere, used alone or in combination, deforms the elastic surface, which becomes both diffuser and dynamic form, a landscape of light that changes with every gesture.
The number and weight of the spheres influence the intensity and tone of the dynamic white LED source concealed in the base: a lighter touch creates a softer, warmer glow, while greater weight produces a brighter, cooler light.
As with other projects developed in collaboration with Habits Design, such as Elastica and Metrica, Grammoluce reinterprets the theme of light through gestural interaction, turning a simple action into a poetic dialogue between matter and illumination.

L’idea è quella di mettere in relazione due concetti apparentemente indipendenti attraverso l’esperienza d’uso e la trasformazione della forma, dando vita a un’estetica unica e a un’esperienza poetica.

Il tessuto elastico in Lycra ® si deforma rispondendo al peso delle sfere in vetro satinato, creando un legame intuitivo tra luce e peso. Più peso, più luce. Meno peso, meno luce.
Puoi modificare l’intensità e la tonalità della luce solo appoggiando sul tessuto una, due o tre sfere combinandole a piacere.
Un gesto per personalizzare intensità e colore della luce e creare un’atmosfera intima e calda o luminosa e condivisa.
The elastic Lycra® fabric responds to the weight of the frosted glass spheres, deforming and creating an intuitive connection between light and weight. More weight, more light. Less weight, less light.
You can adjust the intensity and tone of the light simply by placing one, two, or three spheres on the fabric, combining them as you wish.
A simple gesture to personalize the intensity and color of the light, creating an atmosphere that can be intimate and warm or bright and shared.

Lampada da tavolo a luce diffusa. Base in metallo verniciato, struttura in vetro borosilicato trasparente, tessuto elastico in Lycra ® fissato tramite un anello in alluminio verniciato bianco sul bordo del corpo in vetro.
Sorgente di luce LED bianco dinamico, dimmerabile, posizionata nella base. Alimentatore a spina.
La lampada viene fornita completa delle 3 sfere in vetro satinato di diversi diametri e di una base porta sfere. Le 3 sfere in vetro satinato sono di diametro 6 cm (0,3 Kg), 8 cm (0,7 Kg) e 10 cm (1,3 Kg).
La base porta sfere è realizzata in PaperStone ® certificato FSC ®, 100% di carta riciclata e resine di origine vegetale, colore nero.
Ogni base è unica.
Table lamp with diffused light. Painted metal base, transparent borosilicate glass structure, and elastic Lycra® fabric secured to the edge of the glass body by a white-painted aluminium ring. Tunable white LED light source, dimmable, housed in the base. Plug-in power supply.
The lamp comes complete with three frosted glass spheres of different diameters and a dedicated sphere holder base. The three frosted glass spheres measure Ø6 cm (0.3 kg), Ø8 cm (0.7 kg), and Ø10 cm (1.3 kg).
The sphere holder base is made of certified FSC ® PaperStone ®, composed of 100% recycled paper and natural resin, in black color. Each base is unique.

Nato a Pechino, Min Dong è Design Lead e Partner per la regione Cina presso Habits Design. Ha conseguito il Master in Design and Engineering al Politecnico di Milano nel 2016. Nel corso degli anni ha guidato la progettazione di oltre 100 prodotti, molti dei quali hanno ricevuto importanti riconoscimenti internazionali, tra cui l’iF Design Award, il Red Dot Award e il Good Design Award (G-Mark) del Giappone.
Oltre ai progetti commerciali, è profondamente impegnato nella ricerca progettuale guidata dalla riflessione personale e dall’esplorazione creativa. Attraverso lo studio di materiali innovativi, tecnologie all’avanguardia, interazioni emotive e scenari d’uso emergenti, porta costantemente nuove prospettive e ispirazioni al design del prodotto spingendo i confini del possibile e contribuendo a plasmare il futuro del design.
Born in Beijing, Min Dong is Design Lead and Partner for the China region at Habits Design. He earned his Master’s degree in Design and Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano in 2016.
Over the years, he has led the design of more than 100 products, many of which have received major international awards, including the iF Design Award, Red Dot Award, and Japan’s Good Design Award (G-Mark).
Beyond commercial projects, he is deeply engaged in design research driven by personal reflection and creative exploration. Through the study of innovative materials, cutting-edge technologies, emotional interactions, and emerging usage scenarios, he continually brings new perspectives and inspiration to product design, pushing the boundaries of possibility and helping shape the future of design.
