We have lost count of how many Y events we attended this summer. There are more details below, but the lead is the Community Phase with a goal of $550,000 smashed through that milestone and as of this writing has raised $700,000+. Along with raising money, the importance of this part of the Campaign was to give community members the opportunity to hear in person what the Heart of the Community is all about-from YMCA Cape Cod and the Community Health Center's decision to expand into the Upper Cape to the journey that has been going on for the last fourteen years to bring us to groundbreaking in December of 2025! And we gave the community an opportunity to ask their burning questions-why is this effort different from the past, how does this affect our other community organizations and WHEN WILL YOU BE OPEN? The support of this Campaign shows in our numbers: raised to date over $33 million, over 800 donors, gifts from $3.00 to $10 million, approximately 100 volunteers and countless yard signs around the community. We have support from the Federal Government, the State of Massachusetts and the Town of Falmouth. We would call that success!

Donor Spotlight - Liz & Phill Gross Emphasizing education, diversity, youth development, and health care through philanthropy. Liz and PhilI Gross are philanthropists with a deep passion for community, education, and opportunity. They understand the power of investing in people and places that bring neighbors together, and in early 2024 they offered the Y a $3 million dollar matching challenge. Their gift came at a critical time, inspiring others to give to the campaign and igniting a wave of momentum that helped carry the campaign forward through the summer. Thanks to their vision and commitment, countless additional donors were moved to join in, amplifying the impact of every dollar raised. Philanthropists Phill and Elizabeth Gross whose three million dollar matching gift helped launch the Y's capital campaign. inspiring a swell of community support
The Grosses' belief in the Y's mission and their willingness to lead by example reflect their shared dedication to building a stronger, healthier future for all. We are thankful to these visionary leaders who invest in the good that they see in people and in the community. Their generosity reminds us that transformational change happens when individuals step forward with both vision and heart.
Their gift will support building costs for the new Don & Dottie Smith YMCA , a space designed to serve generations to come through programs that foster youth development, healthy living, and social connection. We are deeply grateful to Phill and Elizabeth Gross for helping us take this exciting next step toward a new home for our Y, and a brighter future for our community.
