Career Technical Education (CTE) is an educational pathway that provides students with real world knowledge coupled with academic and technical skill that allow them to be prepared for a wide variety of career opportunities. CTE focuses on providing students training and skill development in high demand growth industries, including technology, science, healthcare, and business management. CTE allows students to explore potential career paths as early as junior high.
According to the American Institutes for Research, students who participated in CTE programs in high school were more likely to be employed after high school than similar classmates who did not par C academic readiness.





The September 2024 MISD CTE Student of the Month is Miss Morgan McGuire, a junior at Marshall High School and President of the MHS FFA. Morgan is an accomplished student leader, active in FFA, the Mavette drill team, AP and dual credit courses, and her church youth group. We are proud to recognize her dedication, achievements, and positive impact as the first CTE Student of the Month for the 2024-2025 school year

The October 2024 MISD CTE Student of the Month is Joselyn Espinoza Reyes, a third-year welding student at Marshall High School. She has excelled in welding projects, earned her 2G flat weld certification, and serves as FFA Vice President while staying active in Student Council and Interact Club Joselyn also maintains excellent grades and has completed several dual credit and honors courses, showcasing her leadership and dedication in all areas


The November 2024 MISD CTE Student of the Month is Lizette Acuna Garcia, a senior in the Cosmetology program who began in 8th grade. She has developed advanced technical skills, led her team’s “La Catrina” entry at the Image Expo in Houston, and represented the Mav Salon program on stage Beyond cosmetology, she participated in soccer and dance, excelled in advanced academics, and will graduate with 18 dual credit hours through ETBU

Our May 2025 MISD CTE Student of the Month is Cameron Archield, who exemplifies qualities employers value. Active in education and training, criminal justice, and JROTC, he helped classmates earn their Texas Educational Aide Level 1 Certification by organizing details, sharing resources, and keeping them on track. Cameron works at the front desk of the Marshall Police Department, assisting with calls and walk-ins, making him a true asset in school and the community
