How to Cut Through the Noise and Overcome AI Slop

*British accent*
Dearest Gentle Reader,
This author has lately noticed a regression in the quality of content that gets passed around this digital ton. Could it be that these gentle businessfolk are no longer concerning themselves with the most ancient art of packaging and presenting oneself in the best light possible in order to secure a match? If so, this author must admit that the times do seem to be changing rapidly, and finding a brand worth buying is becoming harder and harder to do. Is the search for the season’s diamond becoming a fool’s errand?
Aaaaaand scene.
Can you tell I binged Bridgerton season 4 last month? It’s perfect timing for this issue, though, as Lady Whistledown’s dulcet-yet-disdainful tones were perfectly suited to a Magnifier Monthly predicated on the concept of herd mentality and how it yields our societal trends. Mayhaps I’ll do all my editorials from Lady Dub’s POV
(Season 4 is excellent, by the way. The chemistry picked up the slack that Season 3 left behind)
The concept for this issue came about because I recently heard a friend describe LinkedIn as a ‘cesspool’ of click bait and too-deeply personal anecdotes, a far cry from its origin as a purely professional platform designed to help people make career connections and professional developments.
Things aren’t much better on other platforms Instagram is riddled with AI slop, every YouTube thumbnail says YOU WON’T BELIEVE what this PERSON says, and ads ads ads. Ads everywhere. Ads every other post, ads on every video, ads in your subconscious while you sleep. Unless you pay a pretty penny for a premium, ad-free subscription.
This is officially called enshittification, the slow decline of a platform’s quality as capitalism sinks its teeth into the business operations and overtakes the user experience. Although a platform begins with the intention of creating a high-quality user experience, it evolves over time to cater to its business customers as the user base grows and thus its monetizing potential. Remember, if you’re not paying for it, you are the product.
I bring this up because like any good digital soldier, we need to know what we’re dealing with before we face battle: Platform fatigue, content saturation, and anti-user algorithms.
Standing out has never been harder, which is why many people are turning to AI tools to help them generate content quickly and crack the algorithm code.
But, the problem with AI tools, is that they, too, scrape their input from the masses. And if more and more people are publishing AI content, aren’t we then just scraping each other’s AI content to produce even more AI content?
This isn’t a diss on AI tools they can certainly speed up your process and rack up impressions in an algorithmfriendly way, especially if you’re not in the habit of writing or creating content.
But, be wary of an outcome that blends you with the crowd If there’s one lesson you take away from this issue, let it be that copying what you see online and reframing it as your own brand is not a marketing strategy. The opposite, in fact; it means that
you’re starting with a personality that isn’t your own and molding it to fit your purposes rather than cultivating your own unique spark.
And the world NEEDS your spark! Now more than ever! You have something that no one else does. Your unique combination of life experiences, perspectives, lessons learned, and industry expertise is your and yours alone. Someone else may work the same job or sell the same service, but no one does it quite like you.
Which brings us back to the issue at hand: How does one stand out in a sea of slop that’s designed to drag us into its murky waters?
Flip through these pages and discover the core principles that form a unique brand strategy and transform your brand into the diamond of the season
Anyone can manufacture content and throw it into the online ocean. You’re not just anyone, though, are you? You have your own unique ideas and breadth of experience to share with the world, and anything you do to represent your brand, whether it be content, speaking, or networking, should be an unabashed representation of that.
Here is a set of secrets that will help you stand out from the sea of average…

It might seem cheesy, and it definitely takes a lot of confidence, but using a ‘bit’ makes you easily identifiable and importantly, memorable. It doesn’t need to be goofy, just something as simple as a tagline you sign off with, or a persona like “that Nancy Drew girl” or “your local digital ninja.” 1 2
Most businesses sell a lot of the same stuff, offer the same services, teach the same concept. As much as we all want to believe we’re the winner, the reality is that our audience has plenty of other options, especially with the internet at their fingertips What stands out to someone is the option that brings something genuinely meaningful into their life, not something that’s done just for clicks or impressions.
Branding in a nutshell. Not only do you embrace the bit, but you also commit to being consistent with it. Every time and every place you show up, you’re doing the bit. People need to be reminded of something many, many times in order for it to stick in their digitally overstimulated minds.

While it’s good and strategic to keep an eye on what your competition is doing, remember that the reason someone would choose you over your competitor is because you have something different to offer If you feel like you’re standing on an island all alone with your content strategy, you’re doing it right.

There is no quick and easy way to building a legitimate brand. Selling requires trust, and trust, by literal definition, is something that happens over time through repetitions of reliability. This is the hard way, which happens to be the only way. You can’t shortcut the bridge to trust, but you sure can knock it down if you compromise on your value. As they say, Rome wasn’t built in day, but it burned in one 3 4 5
When sailing on the ocean of digital content, the conversion rate serves as your spyglass to zoom in close and locate the datapoint that gives you meaningful direction
Written as a percentage, the conversion rate is the ratio of the number of people who actually complete a specific action compared to the number of people who could have completed the action. Not to be confused with the Click-Through Rate (CTR), which tells you how many people simply click on a digital link, the conversion rate measures the ultimate action you’re targeting (purchases, registrations,
subscriptions, etc.). Sometimes the CTR and the conversion rate are the same thing, however, if the behavior you’re targeting is indeed clicks on a page.
“Thar she blows!”
As a representation of your input to your output, the CTR ultimately tells you how your efforts are paying off. Rather than casting a wide net into the ocean, you are tracking how effective your marketing is so that you can make strategic and costeffective changes to the way you go after a result
A concert venue wants to improve its ticket sales by running an ad campaign. The desired action is people purchasing a ticket, and the total number of potential purchases includes the number of people who see the ad they run on Instagram. To get the number of people who converted from the ad, the digital marketing specialist includes a survey on the checkout page that asks people how they heard about the concert The conversion rate is then calculated as the number of people who answered “from an IG ad” divided by the total number of views of the campaign (reported by Instagram).
1. Determine what behavior is most meaningful to your brand.
Someone purchases a ticket...
Someone subscribes to a newsletter...
Someone signs up for a webinar...
2. Identify the marketing activities you’ll use to advertise the action and the metric that measures the total number of possible participants.
Social media posts (impressions/views)
Website announcement (visits)
Email campaign (contact list)
3. Identify the metric that measures the behavior.
# of subscribes
# of ticket purchases
# of link clicks
# of registrations
4. Calculate the conversion rate and interpret the result.
Clicks
Impressions x 100
Do you need to reach more people? Are you reaching the right people to begin with? Are you on track with this rate of efforts : results?

The key to good business is more than just views It’s the bond that you build with the people who peruse.
Built over time, not made in a day It’s a process that rests on all that you say.
In every small action that carries the name, It weaves threads of trust that compound your claim.
But break from your word and you’ll throw out the key For you’ve broken the first rule that is: consistency.

Branding is one of the most important elements of successful marketing. It is a well-balanced combination of trust, reliability, and recognition. Crucially, it is not a single moment in your business. It’s a process that happens over time, and your success with it is a direct ratio of your ability to be consistent with it.
Ultimately, it is the way people see, experience, and anticipate your brand. The deeper the trust is that is built into that perception, the easier it is to convert prospects to purchasers.
Instagram might cater to its creators. Instagram has begun testing clickable links by allowing a small number of Meta Verified users to include links in their post captions. The option has “long been requested by creators, who have asked for a simpler way to direct followers to external websites from their posts.” Important caveats: This feature will only be available to content creators, and you would have to pay for this feature, and it is limited to a small number of links per month

Canva has partnered with Instagram, so when you connect (which uggests design essary. roll form is here get actual conversation (3+ comment exchanges between different people) get 5x amplification. Erego, the hotter the take, the bigger the quake.
