A stolen community defibrillator has been found dumped in a creek. The $3000 automated external defibrillator (AED) was taken from outside Mayfield School last month and then ditched behind Landsdowne Park. And early indications from the insurance company show a pay out for a replacement may not be possible. Allan Udy, whose daughter Nerys was saved by an AED after suffering a cardiac arrest at work, says he is angry about the waste. “It appears to be vandals as obviously they couldn’t sell it on Trade Me.
