A crucial medical emergency response service needs help to ensure its life saving work can continue. The charity-run Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter is launching its annual appeal. The service operates at a $1.65 million shortfall every year making the latest appeal vital its survival. Trust General Manager Paula Muddle says people need to know their financial support is really important. “Fundraising and donations contribute 40 per cent of the costs of this essential service. “We have a $1.65 million shortfall in operational costs each year to fundraise for,” she says. Major sponsor Nelson Building Society are asking people across the Top of the South to get behind the crew. NBS CEO Tony Cadigan says that company’s support for the Trust is stronger than ever.
