You're in good company Rare collectibles have been used as an alternative currency for centuries by many of the world’s richest families. It is an investment used by the uber-wealthy, partly to safeguard a portion of their wealth in rare tangible assets with a long term history of rising in value. Welcome to the world of rare collectibles investment The rare collectibles market allows you to place pride of ownership at the heart of your portfolio. It enables you to invest in your passions with confidence, using data and expertise to help predict future growth potential, enabling you to diversify with tangible assets that have historically out-performed more traditional investments. The market spans a wide range of items including postage stamps, coins, autographs and memorabilia, historic documents, fine art, watches, vintage jewellery and luxury handbags. These pieces are valued for their rarity, quality and historical significance, and the desire to own them is predominantly driven by personal passion, often developed over a lifetime of collecting. This means prices are not directly correlated to other financial trends, which ensures the market can remain stable in periods of economic turmoil. In times of financial uncertainty, high-networth (HNW) individuals increasingly turn to these 'alternative' assets as mainstays of their diversified portfolios.

Rare collectibles enable you to diversify with tangible assets that have historically out-performed more traditional investments. Beating inflation & recession They can serve as a hedge against high inflation, and have proven to hold or increase their value through periods of recession, due to their independence from fluctuating stock market trends. The Knight Frank Luxury Investment Index, which tracks the values of these 'passion investments', reported above inflation growth of 16% throughout 2022 – outperforming mainstream investment classes including equities and gold.

annual sales totals in their histories in 2022. In each case more than 35% of their clients were first-time buyers, illustrating the surging popularity of the rare collectibles market. This growth was also aided by exciting developments in technology. Because over the past three years the rare collectibles market has experienced a digital revolution. The global pandemic led to the rapid expansion of online bidding and sales, which in turn fuelled a surge in new collectors and high-value transactions. The creation of these new sales platforms, instantly accessible from anywhere in the world, has also increased the liquidity of these assets, creating a dynamic and truly global marketplace. The world of rare collectibles investment is a place in which joy of ownership works hand in hand with financial stability, where centuries of tradition combine with cutting edge technology. Paul Fraser Collectibles stands at the forefront of this exciting market, ready to guide you on your journey.

During this period of looming global recession, almost every category in the rare collectibles market recorded record figures. Leading auction houses Christie's, Sotheby's, Heritage and Phillips all achieved the highest

Paul Fraser Chairman

“Now is the moment to buy rare collectibles with conviction.“ Every journey begins with a single step. An opportunity grasped with both hands. Mine began in 1978, with a Beatles signed album. It was the first rare autograph I ever sold, and the start of a long and successful career. Back then it was worth £45. Today it's worth £45,000. That's the real power of the rare collectibles market. Throughout my life I've been privileged to own some remarkable pieces, from autographs and memorabilia to manuscripts, stamps, and coins. I've held objects in my hands which changed the course of history. And I've made a profit from my passions along every step of the way. I can help you do the same. We can start today. Because right now the rare collectibles market is stronger than I've ever known it. I've watched it grow steadily for 45 years – but now it's soaring. What was once a niche investment area is now the mainstream. Online auctions and digital technology have transformed the industry, creating a more transparent, dynamic, and truly global marketplace.

Today a combination of high inflation, looming recession, and volatility across traditional investment markets has practically necessitated rare tangible assets form part of your portfolio. In such challenging times the security of these assets, along with the pleasure of ownership and the strong financial returns, are proving more and more appealing to investors. All the signals in the market are favourable, and we suggest now is the moment to buy quality rare collectibles with conviction, and reap the rewards in the medium to long term. Because I believe every investor shares three common goals: To increase your wealth, secure your financial future, and enjoy your money along the way. The rare collectibles market has helped me, and my clients around the world, achieve all three. Now it's your turn. With support and guidance from my dedicated team, I can help you to profit from your passions and build a world-class collection you can be proud of. So let's get started. All the best,

More financial commentators than ever before now recommend rare collectibles as part of a well-balanced wealth diversification strategy. We've built up data from the past 70 years, and the rare collectibles market has averaged a steady compound growth rate of around 10% per annum.

“Never short of conversation at parties!“ Back in the 90s I used to dread the question. It would inevitably happen at parties. At the pub. On dates… ‘What do you do for work?’ My reply: ‘I’m a chartered accountant.’ I’d be met with a mix of disappointment and disinterest. Let me tell you, those four little words are a real conversation stopper. Fast forward 30 years, and as CEO of Paul Fraser Collectibles I now love telling people about what I do for a living. Far from being a conversation stopper, it’s a conversation starter. ‘I’m selling a document signed by Henry the VIII at the moment.’ ‘An Apollo 11 spacesuit arrived in the office last week.’ ‘Do you want to see Napoleon’s hair?’ It was in 1999 that I saw the light, when my innate love of collecting drew me to stamp specialist Stanley Gibbons as finance director. I was appointed CEO of Stanley Gibbons in 2003 and led the business from a market capitalisation of $5 million to a peak of $200 million. Today I can use that experience of the collecting sector to help you protect and grow your capital. During my time at Stanley Gibbons, I managed the purchase and sale of some of the world's largest and most renowned collections. These included the most celebrated British stamp collection ever assembled (worth in excess of $10m). So when you invest with Paul Fraser Collectibles, you can do so with complete confidence.

I joined Paul Fraser Collectibles in 2016. Today, I continue to specialise in advising high-networth clients on building their investment portfolios. My primary collection at home is rare postage stamps. They are genuine miniature works of art. I love how they are artefacts of modern history. And the fact my collection has grown in value by around 11% per annum over the past 20 years helps me love stamps even more. After stamps, it’s historical documents and rare signatures. One of my favourites, is a sea shanty written by Lord Nelson’s crew in 1797, honouring their beloved Admiral. With it is a handwritten letter signed by Nelson shortly before he lost his right arm in battle. It amazes me you can own such personal pieces from legendary historical figures. At Paul Fraser Collectibles, our business success is through buying only rare authentic collectibles of the finest quality with a long term historic record of rising in value. First and foremost, we consider ourselves an investment company benefiting from the fact the assets we acquire rise in value year on year. We release some of these assets to collectors and investors to generate an income. This business model ensures that we profit together with our clients.

“A passion for people.“ I have three main passions in life: 1. Golf 2. Fishing 3. Helping my clients invest successfully in rare collectibles I’m OK at the first (used to be better). Hopeless at the second. And the third? Well, I like to think I’m pretty good at making my guys money. Let me show you: I joined stamp specialist Stanley Gibbons as an investment portfolio manager in 2009. For eight years there I built a large client base and handled many multi-million dollar sales to ultrahigh-net-worth individuals. On a daily basis I guided my clients to the rarest, most desirable stamps and coins. Many of these clients became and remain good friends (when you make clients money they tend to like you). In 2017 I joined Paul Fraser Collectibles as head investment adviser. And what should I find? More than 300 clients I had worked with at Stanley Gibbons followed me. That’s a testament to the quality of service I provide. A service you can tap into too. My key areas of expertise are rare stamps, coins and sports memorabilia.

10

Today I’m responsible for ensuring all our investment clients receive the high standards of service they both deserve and expect. It’s a privilege to introduce them to this exciting yet secure asset class. And I should mention. I’m based in sunny Jersey, Channel Islands. My tours of the island for new clients are not to be missed!

“Supporting exit strategies.“ When you come to sell your rare collectibles, you need to get your treasures in front of the right audience, and show them in the best possible light. I’ve spent a lifetime in marketing and advertising, 42 years to be accurate. I know there are no shortcuts, the only way for me to successfully market your collection is to get to know your collection intimately. With a deep interest in history, Paul Fraser Collectibles has provided me the opportunity not only to be part of a dynamic and fascinating business, but to actually get my hands on some of the rarest stamps, coins, historical documents and space memorabilia on the market today. Many items of museum calibre - it’s an absolute joy.

of London, and excellent commuting links to Jersey, making an ideal location for the marketing and sales teams. I look forward to helping sell your collection. We will give your items our complete attention, ensuring they go to new owners who will treasure them as much as you have.

Andrew Ozouf Head of Marketing

Our marketing team of researchers, writers and photo and video specialists are a pleasure to work with. They share with me the same passion for the rare collectible items we handle for clients. Alongside our sales team, they are the engine room that gets your rare collectibles sold. Our head office is in St Helier, Jersey - my home. It’s truly a wonderful place to live and work, with a balanced work/lifestyle. I love our beaches and tree-lined valleys and lanes. Travelling to our Bristol, UK hub is also a pleasure. Bristol being a vibrant British city with overtones

Abbie Grant Head of UK Operations

“A personal client service is the most important thing we do right.“ Abbie is our resident superhero. Not only does she head-up our UK operations from our Bristol office, she also leads the company’s business development team. How does she do it? A passion for people. Whether you’re a new starter in the office, or a client hoping to invest millions in rare collectibles, Abbie takes the time to get to know you. You’ll soon be firm friends. A warning though. Entering into a conversation with Abbie is a dangerous business. You’ll almost certainly end up buying something. That’s what you get when you hire the former regional sales manager for the Reach group of newspapers. For 10 years Abbie was responsible for the print and digital advertising of more than 80 publications, including the Metro. Abbie is well suited to the world of collectibles, as she is something of a throwback herself. On weekends you’ll find Abbie at classic car meets in her 1934 Ford Sedan. Emails? Text messages? Too impersonal. Abbie loves nothing more than picking up the phone and actually talking on it. Abbie is also responsible for making sure we have sophisticated processes and constant monitoring in place, providing our clients with the most efficient and dedicated personal service possible. If you ever have a problem

with our service to you, Abbie will quickly and painlessly fix it for you (not that you will!). If you get the chance, ask Abbie about her Thursday afternoon team building sessions. How many beer mats can you flip?

10 Benefits of rare collectibles investment 1 Historical returns

2 Diversification

Rare collectibles such as stamps and coins have proven a good investment over the very long term (i.e. 70 years+).

Throughout history, financial wealth has been destroyed when there's a stock market or housing market price crash, as most investors are overexposed in these areas.

Salomon Brothers rate rare stamps among the top four investments of the 20th Century, giving an average annual return of 10%. Many economic commentators expect a lengthy period of high inflation. Historically, rare collectibles have always performed the best during periods of high inflation. For example, during the last time of high inflation (between 1975-1980), rare stamps soared in value by 600%.

Investing in rare tangible assets provides a means of broadening your investment profile, as part of sensible wealth management and retirement planning. The UBS/Campden Wealth Global Family Office Wealth Report states that the average family office puts only around 30% of their wealth into stocks. The uber-wealthy place more than 35% of their net worth into “other“ investments including fine art, coins and rare stamps. A recent Barclays report revealed the world’s high net worth individuals currently store 10% of their capital in collectibles. Historically, the market for rare tangible assets performs favourably when the stock market performs badly. Rare collectibles generally experience less volatility than most other asset classes. This stability can be a comfort in the most challenging of times.

20

3 Low correlation with

traditional investments

Investments in collectible tangible assets have, historically, been broadly unaffected by political and economic vagaries and therefore can offer a form of protection and insulation to an element of your net worth. Market prices are led primarily by the activities of collectors, not investors, leading to low volatility. The rare collectibles market actually benefited from lockdowns during the pandemic, bringing an increase in new collectors. Collectors focused on their hobbies during this time, resulting in a visible and material increase in demand across the whole collectibles market, which has continued post-pandemic.

4 Limited supply Rare collectibles are inherently scarce and have an ever-diminishing supply, with loss through damage, destruction and donations to museums. This diminishing supply against increasing demand causes pricing pressure, leading to rising prices.

5 Rising global demand

7 Tax benefits

Baby boomers now own 80% of the world's wealth. As they enter retirement, they're returning to hobbies of their youth and investing some of their disposable wealth in rare collectibles.

Rare collectibles are a tangible asset and investment returns represent a capital gain, providing distinct tax planning advantages.

By 2030, Goldman Sachs predicts 2 billion extra people will be in the middle-class bracket. This demographic produces the majority of investment-grade collectors.

Many collectibles benefit from being highly portable and can be internationally traded in all currencies, with prices largely constant wherever you sell them.

10 Family heirlooms

As a portable tangible asset, rare collectibles can be used as an alternative currency, and provide a protection against exchange rate risks.

Rare collectibles represent family heirlooms, which can be passed down through the generations as a secure means of protecting and growing wealth over the very long term.

This increased demand from investors means scarce assets become even scarcer as some are held, often for the long term, by investors as a store of wealth.

6 Pride of ownership Excellent long term investment returns are complemented by the wonderful feeling of pride from owning important pieces of history. Some of our investors develop their portfolios into award winning international collections, which gives added interest, provenance and value to their items.

8 Highly portable

growth rates as the market becomes more comfortable trading online. Lockdown restrictions in the past few years forced an acceleration of this major transition to online sales. The online market provides better transparency of pricing and quality. It also creates global liquidity within the market.

9 Liquidity The total annual sales value of the collectibles market is currently estimated at £100 billion. The internet has created true globalisation in the market. eBay is the largest online seller with approximately £4.5 billion sales of collectibles per annum. Excluding eBay, the value of the online collectibles market is estimated at £10 billion per annum. This is forecast to increase to £20 billion over the next three years based on recent

Knight Frank Luxury Investment Index (KFII), which tracks the value of 10 investments of passion, rose by a healthy 16% in the past year.

Rising inflation, in particular, has attracted a rising number of wealthy individuals to turn to investments of passion to protect and grow their wealth in the current volatile economic and geo-political environment. Historically, rare collectibles have delivered the highest returns in periods of high inflation. By way of example, the GB30 Rarities Index, which tracks the value of a basket of the rarest of British stamps, increased in value by over 600% between 1975 and 1980, the last period of high inflation experienced in the UK.

The areas of strongest demand and rising prices we would recommend for investment are: 1. Luxury Watches – up 18% in 2022. Rolex and Patek Philippe cannot keep up with rising demand: creating waiting lists and driving everyone to the secondary market. 2 Coins – up 8% in 2022. Prices at auction constantly rising, driven primarily by passionate collectors. Coins have always been a proven staple of the collectibles market. 3. Rare Stamps – 50-year growth of c.10% compound per annum with a rising number of HNW collectors and investors attracted by the benefits of portability and long term rising values. 4. Autographs & Memorabilia – 10 year growth of 95%. Rising interest and prices from a new generation of younger buyers entering the market. Our mission is simple: to help our clients profit from buying and selling rare collectibles. We are the only company, to the best of our knowledge, offering a comprehensive service covering: • Expert sourcing of the finest authentic collectibles • Storage and specialist 3rd party insurance • Ongoing management and advice • Managing exit to achieve highest realisation in market

The five golden rules When determining the collectibles to select for your portfolio.

26

1 Rarity

We focus our attention on rare collectibles where there are a relatively small number of surviving examples available. Limited, inherently declining supply, is the classic economic principle which creates price pressure and drives growth in prices. You don't need a large market for prices to rise; you only need two people bidding at an auction for the realisation to exceed expectations.

2 Condition

We only include collectibles of premium quality condition, which more regularly sell at auction for above estimates. Collectors are highly conscious of condition. The result is that they're all searching for the same “holy grail“ in terms of quality, pushing up prices for the finest available examples.

3 Authenticity

We favour collectibles with a well-documented history and provenance. Most items come with independent certification of authenticity, from trusted professional experts in their field. Everything you purchase from us comes with a lifetime money-back guarantee of authenticity. We cannot stress enough the importance of buying collectibles through trusted sources, or where you're able to independently prove authenticity and provenance.

4 Liquidity

Most of the collectibles we include for investment portfolios are in areas of the market with a large number of active collectors. Some rare collectibles are simply too specialised to be suitable for investment. These categories have fewer active collectors, increasing the risk of low liquidity on exit.

5 Price

The most important investment rule of all is this: don't overpay. The aim is to buy quality pieces at below fair value, giving a margin of safety. This is the primary service we offer our clients. We use our buying expertise together with our global network to secure rarities at discounts to market value.

27

Factors influencing prices of rare collectibles As you begin your journey into rare collectibles, it's important to understand some of the factors which can influence pricing. We carefully consider each of these factors when selecting investmentgrade items for your portfolio, and we'll pass our knowledge on to you as you learn more about the market.

Rarity

Condition

Rarity is the key principle upon which the entire collectibles market is based. The difficulty in obtaining these items is what drives collectors to own them. It's a combination of human nature, and the law of supply and demand.

The value of an item is also greatly determined by its condition. Generally, only items in the finest condition can be regarded as 'investment-grade'. These are the pieces collectors strive to own – and are therefore the most likely to increase in value over time.

They are predominantly items of considerable age, which have survived due to good fortune and careful preservation. They can range from unique personal items owned by historic figures, to mass-produced items which now exist in low numbers, like vintage baseball cards. There is a natural cap on the market for all historic collectibles. The number of Napoleon signatures or Ancient Roman coins in existence can never increase; it can only decrease, as these pieces are lost to time. So the supply of these items will always be outweighed by the demand from collectors, which in turn maintains a healthy, steadily growing market. Rarity alone is sometimes not enough to make an item worthy of investment. We focus on scarcity. This occurs only where there is a higher demand than there is market supply.

28

For example, a Penny Black – the world's first postage stamp, issued in 1840 – can be acquired for as little as £40 in poor to reasonable condition. But a mint-condition unused example with its original gum can be valued at more than £50,000. Some categories within the collectibles market have their own specific grading systems, which are vital to understand when selecting pieces for your portfolio. These are provided by professional grading companies, and in many cases have become the industry-standard method for determining the value of an item. So, although there are 1,800 examples of the 1952 Mickey Mantle Topps Rookie Baseball Card in existence, only one survives in mint condition, graded SGC 9.5. It originally sold in 1991 for $50,000. And in 2022 it sold again – this time for $12.6 million.

History & provenance 'Eye appeal' is also important as visually attractive, display-worthy pieces will always command the highest prices. Variables can include:

Items with fully-documented histories and provenance will traditionally achieve the highest prices, as collectors can purchase them safe in the knowledge they are genuine.

•

The size and placement of an autograph

•

The even margins and centring of a postage stamp

•

The lustre of a rare coin

Whether the item is fresh to the market from the original owner, or has previously passed through several collections, knowing the background is key to ensuring its authenticity.

•

The particular portrait of a signed photograph

Items with visible damage, such as tears, stains, smudging, creasing and paper loss are all still considered collectible. Often these are unavoidable effects caused by centuries of history and handling. But when selecting pieces for your portfolio, collectibles in anything less than premium condition should be avoided to ensure their saleability in the future.

Collectors will often pay a premium for the prestige of being the first person to own an item, or owning a piece once part of a worldrenowned collection. Collectors can also attach higher value to items with fascinating back stories. And in some cases, the value of a piece can lie predominantly in the story that comes with it. We thoroughly research the history and provenance of every piece we offer, to guarantee their authenticity and give you complete peace of mind. In some cases our research even uncovers new information, which adds further value to pieces in our clients' collections.

Increasing values in other collectible areas As prices increase in certain areas of the collectibles market, it can have a beneficial effect on others. When collectors find themselves priced out of a particular market, or unable to obtain the items they seek due to rising demand and competition, they will often refocus their attention to another related area. A good recent example of this can be found in the sports memorabilia market. The soaring values of rare sports cards has led some collectors into the alternative field of sports tickets, where the finest examples remain more affordable. This increase in popularity and demand has now turned a once niche area into a thriving major collecting category in its own right. This same pattern can be seen across every category in collecting. And by watching the market closely it can be possible to anticipate changing trends, invest earlier in a particular area and benefit from the subsequent price increase. As our client we will always keep you informed and up-to-date with the latest market trends.

Rare stamps: 19.0% allocation

£250,000 collection

St Helena 1961 Tristan Relief Fund Set of 4 Unmounted Mint, SG172/75 These are among the rarest of modern stamps ever produced - especially unused examples such as these. Only 434 complete sets were sold and they were withdrawn from sale after just one week. Most were used, and this has become recognised as one of the key British Commonwealth philatelic items of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Great Britain 1840 1d Black Plate 2, SG2 The penny black is one of the safest investments in stamps, with an unblemished track record historically of rising in value. Plate 2 was first registered on 22 April 1840 and was therefore amongst the first penny blacks issued on 6th May 1840. Plate 2 mint examples are very rare.

South Africa 1944-50 Official 2d Type O6 Overprint, SGO35 Considered the most aspirational South African government official philatelic rarity you could possibly own. It’s the hardest space to fill of the South African Official stamps in the King George VI stamp album.

Great Britain 1935 2½d Prussian Blue, SG456a A very fine and fresh unused, with original gum, top marginal example of this most famous British “error of colour” stamp. To this day, the 2½d Prussian Blue remains one of the

rarest and most desired stamps from Great Britain. Quite simply, it should not have been printed.

China 1897 Large Surcharge $1 on 3c Deep Red, SG91 The “Red Revenues” $1 surcharged example is hugely scarce and highly sought after by avid collectors. One of the key pieces of any China philatelic collection.

Canada 1969 Christmas 6c Error (UNUSED), SG645a Very scarce. Only 400 existed of this missing text error (of which 204 are in the Library and Archives, Canada). The first time we have enjoyed the privilege of handling this famous and dramatic stamp error from Canada.

Growth, insights & conclusion Overall, the historic growth of the portfolio was 254.6% (12.7% simple growth per annum) over 20 years. The growth rate in the past five years was heavily impacted by the global pandemic, with incomes for many in the middle class bracket severely hampered. Removal of lockdown conditions allied with the current high interest environment has seen prices kick on, as investors seek out tangible alternative investments. The strongest area of growth was in limited edition art prints, up 433%. This is due to the continued price growth at the high end of the art market, forcing collectors to turn to the lower tiers of the market. This serves to illustrate the kind of high growth rates which can occur for specific items.

Historical documents and memorabilia showed growth of 153% and 265%, respectively. The relatively modest growth for historical documents is a result of this sector’s well established status. Viewed as an “old reliable”, its dependable growth rate attracts seasoned investors year after year. Prices in the memorabilia area of collecting tend to move in large step jumps rather than in a linear fashion as prices are directed mainly by “break-out” prices which are sporadically achieved at public auctions. The flatlining performance of rare stamps over the past 10 years suggests a breakout is due, making it possibly the most attractive value investment in the rare collectibles market at the current time.

£250,000 collection

Conclusion. Overall, the portfolio presented includes a fascinating selection of high quality rare collectibles across a range of collecting areas. This sample portfolio is for illustrative purposes. We can, of course, work with you to build the portfolio most suited to your needs and investment objectives within your budget.

The Roman coin in the portfolio shows growth of 338% since 2003. This is a low risk area of the collectibles market since prices have been rising consistently over the past 10 years and remain strongly supported by a large collector base, willing to pay increasingly more to secure rare coins in premium condition.

These pieces can give you a lifetime of pride and pleasure of ownership. They can form a magnificent display in your home. And they can serve as valuable assets in a diversified portfolio.

It offers you the opportunity to own some of the world's rarest objects, and become an honoured custodian of history. As the renowned publishing magnate and collector Malcolm Forbes famously stated: “None of my other investments give me the joy that autographs do, because they make me feel that I am holding a piece of history in my hands.“ You can build an inspiring collection featuring figures you admire from the worlds of politics, science, aviation, military history, literature, and popular culture. You can own significant documents, letters and manuscripts which changed the course of history and shaped the modern world we live in. Record prices achieved in recent years illustrate the strength of this market, and the values placed upon these items by collectors:

A Marilyn Monroe signed photograph to her husband Joe DiMaggio. Sold in 2023 for $240,000

Since 2000 the overall value of the PFC40 Index, which tracks the prices of rare autographs across the market, has increased by 714%, at an average annual rate of 32%.

•

George Washington's personal copy of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. Sold in 2012 for $9.8 million

•

An Albert Einstein handwritten note on his secret to happiness. Sold in 2017 for $1.6 million

•

•

A signed copy of the Beatles' album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Sold in 2013 for $290,000

The signatures of many individual figures, such as Neil Armstrong, Steve Jobs, George Harrison and Prince William have grown by upwards of 1,500% over the same period. These figures show that the finest rare autographs have consistently out-performed the Dow Jones, the FTSE100 and even the price of gold for more than two decades. If you have a keen interest in the past, historic autographs and memorabilia could be the ideal area of the rare collectibles market for you.

£533,200. And just six years later in 2020 it sold again privately for £1 million – marking an 87.5% increase in value over the course of just six years. But this market growth isn't merely a recent trend. The Knight Frank Luxury Investment Index reports the value of coins as an investment asset has increased by 72% over the last 10 years. That compares with a 25% rise in the FTSE All Share Index during the same period.

They are highly portable, easy to store, and made of inherently valuable precious metals. They feature beautiful, intricate designs considered works of art in their own right. And they combine sweeping tales of politics, war and royalty with a connection to the real people who handled them hundreds (or even thousands) of years ago. The rare coin market is supported by an industry-standard grading system, and more than a century of available pricing data. This allows both collectors and investors to purchase with a high degree of confidence. Today the global market for rare coins is estimated to be worth $17 billion. And by 2025‚ experts expect the number of collectors and investors around the world buying rare coins to exceed 200 million. This creates a consistently-growing demand for a highly-limited supply. For example, estimates suggest that a mere 2% of all US coins ever minted are still in existence. That figure decreases exponentially when it comes to other categories such as ancient world coins.

As with most categories in collecting, the rare coin market has benefited greatly from the recent rapid expansion of online sales, attracting a broad new demographic of collectors.

Six of the top 10 most valuable coin sales of all time occurred in recent years. In 2022, leading coin auctioneers in the US and Europe (including Heritage and Spink) recorded record results and growth of more than 20% over the previous year. And this strength is also clearly illustrated by the performance of individual coins.

Going back even further, between 1977 and 2022 rare coins offered an average 9.5% annual return. Over the same 44-year period, gold produced an average annual return of 5.6%. Figures clearly show that the rare coin market has consistently out-performed more traditional investments on a regular basis for decades. They offer you a fascinating, powerful alternative addition to your diversified portfolio.

In good company. With a list of passionate coin collectors which includes Caesar Augustus, King Louis XIV, Thomas Jefferson, King Farouk of Egypt and Wayne Gretzky, you'll be in good company.

At the beginning of 2023 the global luxury watch market was valued at approximately $35 billion. A Deloitte report predicts the sector will grow by 75% between now and 2030.

50

An introduction to rare luxury watches The rare luxury watch market is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the collecting industry.

A Deloitte report predicts the global luxury watch market sector will grow by 75% between now and 2030. Knight Frank’s annual Wealth Report revealed the value of rare watches rose by 18% in 2022, outperforming double-digit inflation and almost all mainstream investments, including gold and equities. The same report shows that rare watches are up 147% in value over the past 10 years.

The combination of style, supreme craftsmanship and strong investment potential is attracting buyers at every level, across almost every demographic. Reports estimate there are currently more than 12 million rare watch collectors around the world. Which means the demand for rare luxury watches dramatically outstrips the supply.

Between August 2018 and January 2023, during a period of global economic turmoil, average prices in the secondary market for top models from makers Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet grew at an annual rate of 20%.

Manufacturers such as Rolex or Patek Philippe have decade-long waiting lists for their most exclusive models. These watches take thousands of hours to produce, and their numbers are highly limited.

Luxury watch prices outperformed the S&P during the recession in 2007–2009 and again during the Covid crisis, further underlining their strength and stability as an investment.

With new models becoming almost impossible to obtain, the secondary market is growing at a remarkable rate. 95% of all rare watches on the market are no longer in production. The development of secure online marketplaces has fuelled the growth of this secondary market, and attracted a new demographic of wealthy younger collectors aged 25 – 44, who are more comfortable with high-value online purchases.

A collection of luxury watches could be a powerful addition to your portfolio.

This emerging demographic is driving the market, with a recent survey showing that 66% of these new buyers are influenced by the anticipated growth in value. The numbers behind the market suggest they're correct.

The market has a proven track record of growth in times of economic instability. It's increasing at a rate faster than almost any other category. And it offers you a truly stylish way to enjoy your money.

Every stamp embodies a moment in time, encapsulating the culture, politics, and events of its era. Each has a story to tell, if only we’ll listen.

52

An introduction to rare postage stamps Rare postage stamps are not just pieces of paper; they are windows into history, art, and culture.

communicate, the tactile and historical value of rare stamps persists. They provide a tangible link to our past and serve as testaments to human creativity and innovation. Rare postage stamps are more than collectibles; they are gateways to the world as it once was, waiting to be discovered and cherished by those who seek a deeper connection to our shared heritage.

These unique and often elusive treasures hold a profound fascination for collectors and enthusiasts worldwide, providing a tangible connection to bygone eras. At their core, rare postage stamps are distinguished by their scarcity. This scarcity can result from limited production, printing errors, or specific historical circumstances. The allure of rare stamps goes beyond their monetary value. Each stamp embodies a moment in time, encapsulating the culture, politics, and events of its era. The 1856 British Guiana 1c Magenta, known as the “Mona Lisa“ of the stamp world, which holds the record for the highest value stamp at $8.3m, tells the story of a remote colony and its urgent need for stamps. The design, colour, and imperfections of these stamps hold clues to the technologies and aesthetics of their time. The famous “Inverted Jenny“ stamp of 1918 (above), where an airplane was accidentally printed upside down, is a prime example of how a printing mistake turned a mundane stamp into a highly coveted collectible. In November 2023, a record price for a US stamp

The GB30 rare stamps index reports 7% compound growth per annum between 2000 and 2023 and is looking good value presently after falling in value over the past six years. of $2 million was realised at auction for the Jenny stamp. Collectors of rare stamps are passionate individuals who often dedicate years to building their collections. Auctions and specialised marketplaces become stages where these collectors compete to acquire these prized pieces. The rarity of certain stamps makes them status symbols among philatelists, fuelling a sense of excitement and camaraderie within the community. The study of rare stamps, known as philately, is a multidisciplinary pursuit. It blends history, art, sociology, and economics, offering a unique perspective on the evolution of societies. Stamps from colonial periods, times of war, and moments of technological advancement reveal stories of progress and turmoil.

Some extraordinary events in the market for British rare stamps in recent years, including a large number of collections all appearing on the market over a short time frame, have led to an unexpected fall in values. The prices of stamps from most other countries have, however, continued to show solid rates of growth over the past 10 years. Long term growth rates of rare British stamps still delivered a solid 9% per annum over the past 50 years. Consequently, there is an argument that now is the right time to invest in rare British stamps when prices are lower.

Fractional ownership How would you like to own a $67 million Picasso? A $35 million Ferrari? Or even the world’s most desirable postage stamp: the $8 million British Guiana 1c Magenta? A dream for most of us. Yet a dream you can make a reality. Thanks to the wonders of fractional ownership, which transforms “I’ll never afford that” treasures, into instantly affordable objects within your grasp. Imagine. Owning a Picasso for just $100. Well, imagine no longer. Because fractional ownership at Paul Fraser Collectibles enables you to invest in and own a share of a highvalue collectible. Rare collectibles, whether art, vintage cars, or other unique items, are valuable. Fractional ownership enables you to share the cost, making it more affordable, and more accessible for a wider range of enthusiasts. This democratisation expands the collector base and drives demand for these items.

Diversify your investment portfolio. Investing in fractional ownership of rare collectibles enables you to quickly and easily provide your portfolio with great diversity. This can be especially appealing if you’re looking to spread your investments beyond the traditional shares, property and gold. It’s a great time to be investing in a basket of collectibles. Museums, institutions and Family Offices are buying up large quantities of unique pieces and taking them out of the market, which is squeezing supply and increasing demand and price. By 2030, Goldman Sachs predicts 2 billion extra people will be in the middle-class bracket. This demographic produces the majority of investment-grade collectors.

Enjoy liquidity. There is an active customer base for fractional collectibles, meaning you can sell your shares readily should you wish. Fractional ownership can provide a more advantageous level of liquidity compared with owning the entire collectible.

If the market for a particular type of collectible fluctuates, the impact on a fractional owner is mitigated. The costs of ownership such as insurance and storage are also eradicated, as all our fractional collectibles are securely stored in insured vaults.

Why choose fractional ownership with Paul Fraser Collectibles? Because our collectible fractions are underpinned by blockchain technology for your complete security. Our structure is unique in the fractional ownership arena through linking each fraction to an NFT, and in using blockchain technology to record each fractional ownership transaction - ensuring 100% secure proof of ownership. Each fraction is locked in the blockchain and can’t be tampered with. So you can enjoy full transparency, a fully traceable public ledger, and access to global secondary markets.

Reduce your risk: Owning a fraction of a rare collectible reduces the financial risk associated with full ownership of a high-value item.

55

56

Secure storage The Paul Fraser Collectibles vault is designed for the highest level of asset protection, serving an international customer base of the most demanding and discriminating clientele. In a world where unique rare collectibles, artefacts, and exquisite memorabilia hold immense value, the significance of highly secure storage with specialist third party insurance cannot be overstated. High-value collectibles transcend mere monetary worth; they embody history, culture, and artistry. Ensuring their safety through toptier security measures not only preserves their financial value but also protects their intrinsic significance.

Preserving financial investment.

Protecting historical & cultural significance.

Mitigating environmental risks.

Beyond their monetary value, high-value collectibles often hold deep historical and cultural significance. Antique artefacts, for instance, provide a tangible link to our past, shedding light on civilisations long gone. Artworks encapsulate the creative expression of human experience across different eras. These treasures are irreplaceable, and their loss would result in an irrevocable gap in our understanding of history and culture.

High-value collectibles are often sensitive to fluctuations in environmental conditions. Factors such as temperature, humidity, light exposure, and even air quality can have a profound impact on their condition over time. Museums, private collectors, and institutions recognise that inadequate storage can lead to irreversible deterioration.

By utilising our highly secure storage solutions, you will honour the responsibility of preserving these artefacts for future generations, ensuring our shared heritage remains intact.

The Paul Fraser Collectibles vault facility incorporates climate control, UV protection, and humidity regulation. These measures create a stable environment that minimises the risk of deterioration, ensuring your collectibles remain in pristine condition and retain their allure for years to come.

High-value collectibles often carry significant price tags, attracting avid collectors and investors worldwide. From rare coins and stamps to ancient manuscripts, autographs and memorabilia, these items are tangible assets. As with any valuable investment, security is paramount. Exit strategies We are industry leaders when it comes to achieving results for our clients. If you decide to sell part or all of your portfolio, we offer a range of exit strategies designed to maximise your potential profits.

Achieve a market-leading price with our Private Treaty Service.

Our commission is, however, lower than these auction houses. Which means you get more in your pocket from the sale. There will be no costs to you for holding your items or insurance, whilst we secure the best price for you. We will offer your items directly to our global database of clients, matching pieces to buyers based on our detailed knowledge of their interests.

Auction is seldom the best way to achieve the highest price for your rare collectibles. Realisations through auction are, inherently, unpredictable and you could lose a considerable amount of your original investment. Our private treaty service provides the solution, enabling you to sell directly to buyers at agreed prices. You are in control at all times and can set your own prices.

We have a long history of achieving realisations for our clients equivalent to the major auction houses.

Our highly-skilled marketing team will also promote your items across a variety of channels including emails, social media posts, digital brochures, videos and even our own quarterly magazine. From experience, our clients achieve a net realisation on average three times higher than if they had chosen the auction sales route.

Achieve a faster realisation through auction. If your objective is a complete realisation in the shortest timeframe, and you are willing to accept a potentially lower realisation, we recommend you consign your rare collectibles to our auction, hosted on our own live bidding platform. We do not charge any seller’s commission, meaning your net realisation will be higher. Furthermore, as we are based in the Channel Islands, there will be no import tax or VAT payable to eat into your returns. You have complete control and can set reserves at the minimum prices you’re willing to sell. We will make all efforts through our promotion, marketing and direct selling to our client base to achieve the highest realisation for you, although you should accept that your realisation could be much lower than if you chose our private treaty sales route.

Specialist auctions. In some cases we'll also recommend placing your items into specialist auctions through external companies. In such instances, we'll handle every step of the process from consignment to completion, and keep you fully informed as the auction progresses.

However, it's always possible at auction that certain items can achieve much higher than expected prices when there is competition between bidders.

Client testimonials

“I view our investments in collectibles not just as a store of value but as a way of reflecting my personal interests. The fact that I own Muhammad Ali's autograph, as well as another legendary figure of my childhood, Neil Armstrong, is a source of great pride and satisfaction to me. That said, the business of investing is ultimately about creating and realising value over time. I have always considered diversification to be a key element in any investment portfolio. To take my investing in collectibles to the next level, I needed the guidance of a trusted partner and adviser to achieve my investment aims. I intend to make the most of this 'sweet spot' in my investing life, with a view to being in a position to fully retire and live on the income from the total fund when I reach the age of 75. Thank you very much for this very clear and comprehensive review of our portfolio. I look forward to building on the good relationship we have already established.“

Client testimonials

“I can only describe the service I received as QUALITY: 1.

A great understanding of the market place I was interested in.

2.

An understanding of my financial considerations when investing, and an understanding of the level of risk that I was prepared to accept.

3.

Careful selection of the stamps offered to me for purchase with attractive incentives. High quality back-up paperwork with Certificates of Authenticity when relevant.

4.

Secure storage of stamps. Really important.

5.

Extremely efficient response to any communications requiring action.

6. No unintelligible jargon. 7.

Periodic update of catalogue valuations of my portfolio. The most recent valuation reflected that not a single stamp purchased by me since the beginning of my dealings had suffered a reduction in catalogue value. In many cases, significant increases in value were recorded.

8. The fact that I have dealt with the same contact since the beginning is of enormous value. Continuity and understanding is a key to a successful business relationship, added to which my contact has a vast experience in his field. I am looking to a continuation of what has developed into a great working relationship and indeed friendship and I recommend without hesitation the services.“
