East Point Academy is part of the Inspiration Trust, whose mission is to transform the lives of young people in Norfolk and Suffolk through education. The Inspiration Trust supports a family of 14 academies; trains more than 40 teachers a year and offers continuing professional development (CPD) courses to teachers across the region. In addition they spearhead the Inspiration Teaching School and Angles Maths Hub. As part of the Trust we share the belief that every child deserves an excellent education. Our family of schools collaborate, support and innovate to give every child the best start in life. We're proudly committed to improving the standards of education in the East of England. Our approach We aim for the very best in our classrooms and this starts with our Curriculum. We believe in the power of knowledge and offer a knowledge rich curriculum approach for all our pupils ensuring they have access to a broad, high quality education. With subject-specific knowledge at its heart, our curriculum is both inclusive and ambitious. Our teachers also draw on the latest evidence and research about what works in the classroom so our pupils can reach their full potential and achieve excellent outcomes. Where pupils have special educational needs, we also adapt our curriculum and teaching approaches to ensure all pupils can achieve and access the curriculum successfully. The impact of this approach has been that pupils from East Point Academy regularly make well above the national average for progress over their time at the Academy. Alongside an academic, knowledge rich curriculum, we also aim to offer a wide variety of high quality enrichment opportunities, placing a high value on the arts, sports and cultural pursuits.

Educating the whole child We believe it is our job to prepare our pupils for everything that life may throw at them and sports and the arts play a crucial part in that. We have outstanding sports facilities that include two astroturf pitches, a multi-disciplinary sports hall, a weights and conditioning gym and a dance studio. Our pupils regularly put on dramatic and musical performances, including an annual Summer Spectacular. We host the North Suffolk hub for the Suffolk County Music Service. Pupils have the chance to try a rich range of experiences through the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and we take part in exchanges with schools in France, Germany and Portugal, as part of the European Union’s Comenius scheme. We encourage pupils to take an active part in their local community, through regular fundraising events and work with charities and community groups in Lowestoft.
