Ofsted success across family of schools
Our schools have seen Ofsted success during 2020. Charles Darwin Primary School received an Outstanding grading for its 'culture of high ambitions for staff and pupils'. The report also said that the school inspires 'confident, inquisitive learners' that 'make very strong progress'. Norwich Primary Academy has been rated as Good thanks to its significant improvement in reading that has inspired pupils to 'love reading'. The school recently celebrated its best ever phonics results - which were above the Norfolk average. Ofsted said: 'In Reception, children are introduced to exciting books and a wide range of vocabulary. This continues throughout the school. The teaching of phonics ensures that pupils learn to read well and catch up quickly if needed.' The Thetford Academy was also rated as Good. Ofsted said the "curriculum ensures pupils deepen their thinking" and that pupils "feel valued and cared for". The report said that teachers make sure 'pupils are not left behind' and that Year 11 maths, science and modern foreign language progress was in the top 20% of schools nationally last year. Inspiration Trust schools donate £70,000 to local charities and community groups
A generous £70k donation was made to the Inspiration Trust family of schools to help us to support communities during the Covid-19 crisis. Each of our 14 schools received a donation of £5k. Overall we were able to support 22 charities - including local food banks, the elderly, community groups and bereavement support organisations. Inspiration Trust supports Norwich Pride

Wayland Academy joins Inspiration Trust
We have expanded our family of schools. In April, Wayland Academy Norfolk, in Watton, joined us - it's now named Wayland Academy. The academy left Norfolk Academies, after a review found it would benefit from being partnered in larger groupings of similar schools. We already support seven secondary schools - including The Thetford Academy and Sixth Form nearby. Inspiration Trust supports Oak National Academy We're proud to support Oak National Academy. Our Principal, David Thomas, was involved in the launch of the online platform and a team of our teachers helped to develop lessons during school closures. We're committed to continuing the development of resources over the next year. Academies create PPE for local frontline workers
The Thetford Academy has created more than 1,500 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) for people working on the frontline during the Covid-19 crisis. The school has now helped 11 local care homes, The Bishop's Church of England Primary Academy and staff at The Thetford Academy. Hethersett Academy used the school's 30 printers to create vital PPE for frontline NHS staff, community workers and volunteer services. The school's students also created bailable fabric bags for NHS staff at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Trust staff attend inclusion conference
Our annual conference (October 2019) focused on inclusion and brought together nationally renowned speakers with experts from within the trust, all focused on the important topic of inclusion within a school environment. This year's conference will focus on diversity, equality and inclusion.
