...................... A message from Mr Copeland .................... What a fantastic year we have had at Hymers Hessle Mount; it has been full of exciting experiences and adventures for all of the children. All of the credit must go to the fantastic staff team who have worked incredibly hard to create inspirational learning spaces and environments for your children and have prepared exciting lessons which have inspired the children to learn.. Throughout the Summer Term I was fortunate enough to join all year groups on their school trips. The children were excellent ambassadors for our school and took the CARE Code with them on their adventures. It was pleasing to hear the staff that we visited talking about how polite the children were and how excited they were to learn new things. I was also delighted with how the children, from all year groups, performed superbly on our Sports Day over at Hymers College. Congratulations to Brandesburton, this year’s winning House and also to the fabulous Year 6 Sports Leaders who did an outstanding job in helping organise the day and support and reassure the younger children. In this final newsletter of the year, a special mention must go to the Year 2 pupils who will be moving on after the summer holiday. I would like to wish
you all well as you move on to new adventures in the Junior School. You are an enthusiastic year group with an incredible sense of fun. I have been very impressed with your achievements throughout the year and with the superb progress that you have made. I was blown away by your acting, singing and dancing in ‘The Selfish Ladybird’ where you performed with such confidence and clearly enjoyed every moment of the production. You have embraced new challenges this year such as swimming lessons and regular visits to the Hymers Campus and you have acted as positive role models for the younger pupils in the school. As you progress into Year 3 remember that being successful does not mean that you have to be the best at something. Success is achieved by taking small steps and by being a little bit better than yesterday, each day.
Finally, I would like to say thank you to the parents, friends and families for your continued support throughout my first year at Hymers Hessle Mount. A strong partnership between school and parents can have a hugely beneficial impact on a child’s attainment and personal development. I hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you all very soon.
