MAI SUNSET BEACH RESORT RESORT ACTIVITIES GUIDED MANTA RAY EXPERIENCE Day: Selected days from May to October based on sightings (see the activity bure) Time: Variable Duration: 2 hours Cost: FJ$119 Notes: Minimum 2, maximum 10 people Not far from the resort is Manta channel (between Naviti and Drawaqa Islands) where plankton is funnelled through a narrow channel, a favourite feeding ground for the local population of manta ray between May and October each year who feed when the tide is high. When manta ray have been sighted, take the resort tender boat to the area to snorkel with these majestic creatures in their natural environment. As a bonus, there is some fantastic snorkelling in the area even if you don’t get to see a manta ray.
GUIDED VILLAGE VISIT/SCHOOL TOUR Day: Monday to Saturday Time: 10.00am Duration: 2 hours Cost: FJ$95 Notes: Minimum 2 people Experience the traditional island way of life for yourself with a guided tour either by foot with a hike over the hill or by boat to Gunu village. Meet the locals, visit and have a tour around the local school (Mon to Fri only), and let your heart melt with the genuine smiles and laughter of our village friends whilst enjoying morning or afternoon tea with a local family. Return to the resort by boat.
