ACCESSIBILITY & SPECIAL REQUESTS

Is the resort wheelchair accessible?

No. Being on a remote island, accessible only by boat means there is very limited accessibility due to the terrain, our bures and bathrooms are also not wheelchair accessible. Please contact the resort to discuss needs.

Yes please notify the resort in advance of your arrival for vegetarian, vegan, glutenfree, or allergy needs.

PACKING & WHAT TO BRING

What should I pack?

Lightweight clothing, swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, hat, reef shoes, insect repellent, reusable water bottle, basic meds, travel insurance documents, and snorkelling gear if preferred.

Is reef-safe sunscreen required?

Strongly recommended and sometimes required to protect coral reefs. Bring mineralbased sunscreen labelled reef-safe.

Are there bugs & mosquitoes?

We are a pristine tropical island with an abundance of tropical vegetation. You may notice some tropical insects, geckos, ants, beetles, land crabs and toads after rain All are harmless. Mosquitoes go hand in hand with any tropical destination. Fortunately, as we are located in the West of Fiji, being the driest area, we do not experience as many as other regions. We also take preventative measures, such as twice daily misting of the resort grounds and all windows are fly screened.

Are drones allowed?

Due to safety and privacy concerns, Mai Sunset Beach Resort requests that you check with the Resort Manager before the operation or use of unmanned aerial systems, or drones.
