June 2022
Superintendent’s Update As we close out another school year, I am filled with pride when I look back at all we accomplished over the last 10 months. In many ways, it was a history-making year for our school district! In the fall we recognized students and staff for exemplary academic achievement, including seven Mariemont High School (MHS) students who were honored by the College Board and the National Merit Program, as well as a handful of staff members whose students had tremendous results on state and Advanced Placement assessments. In addition to these successes, we continued to see students participating in accelerated programs throughout our district and a high school average ACT score consistently four or five points ahead of the state and national averages.
Annual End of Year Awards Page 3
Our biggest academic success of the school year came in September when the United States Department of Education recognized Mariemont Junior High School as a National Blue Ribbon “Exemplary High Performing” School. With this honor, Mariemont City Schools became the fourth school district in the state of Ohio to claim each of its schools is a National Blue Ribbon School. I have reiterated multiple times this year, but it truly cannot be understated how incredible the Blue Ribbon distinction is for our district. Especially a district of our size. Whichever school your child is attending within our district, they are getting an award-winning education that ranks amongst the nation’s best. I am so proud of our students and staff members who make this level of excellence a reality day in and day out in each of our classrooms. Continued on page 2
