11am – 2pm @Phoenix Youth Hub Discover the art of Kokedama and create your own beautiful Japanese moss ball plant to take home. A fun way to connect with nature and learn a new gardening technique.

Smithsonian Starstruck Experience 11am – 2pm Excursion @ City A first of its kind 3D virtual reality adventure! Launch into space through immersive technology and authentic storytelling!

Stamp Making Workshop Thursday

11am – 2pm @Phoenix Youth Hub A fun, hands-on stamp making workshop. Design, carve and print your unique stamps while exploring different patterns and techniques.

10:30am – 5pm @Phoenix Youth Hub Participate to receive your White Card, which is the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work, and also required in many other industries.

Mirror Bedazzling 11am – 2pm @Phoenix Youth Hub Transform a plain mirror into a dazzling work of art! Use clay, and gemstones to express your style and take home a beautiful keepsake!

Pride Centre Excursion 11am – 2pm Meet @Phoenix Youth Hub Join us in exploring the Victorian Pride Centre!

TUESDAY

Weekly during school terms 4.30 – 5.30pm Next Gen is a free dynamic Hip-Hop dance program open to all levels. These classes are fun, high energy and uplifting, boosting endorphins and liberating the body through movement and grooves whilst building musicality, coordination and confidence.

Amplify Committee

Fortnightly during school terms 3.30 – 6pm

Make a difference and positively contribute to the environment through outdoor recreation and conservation activities.

Fortnightly during school terms 3.30 – 5.30pm

Drop in and enjoy a range of recreational, artistic and cooking activities. Open to young people aged 12-18.

Fortnightly during school terms 4 – 6 pm The Amplify committee stage arts and music events for young people in the Maribyrnong area. Think Battle of the Bands, Short Film Fests and DJ Nights. No experience required- just a passion for all things creative!

Braybrook Commons Community Garden Fortnightly during school terms 3.30 – 5.30pm Open for young people aged 12-18.

Open for young people aged 15 - 25 years.

THURSDAY

Phoenix Youth Hub Drop-in Weekly during school terms 3.30 – 5.30pm Drop in and enjoy activities such as; ping-pong matches, Nintendo Switch/PS4, arts and crafts, cooking and board games! Open for young people aged 12-18.

Queer Social

Once a month on a Friday

RecWest Weekly during school terms 3.30-6pm

FRIDAY

A monthly hangout for LGBTIQA+ people, friends and allies. Come solo or bring a mate! Open for young people in high school. 18 Sep: Queer Soiree Excursion 2 Oct: Victorian Pride Centre Excursion 20 Nov: Dream Catcher Making

Note: venue will be provided on registration. Spots are limited so book in quick!

Big Bang is a sports and recreational program that includes basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, school holiday tournaments and dinner every Friday night during school terms. Open for young people 12-20.

Young Creatives in Residence We're so excited to welcome our new Young Creatives in Residence (YCIR)! Saanjana and Chase have been working hard at Phoenix, developing their creative practice with access to dedicated workspace, mentorship, resources and support.

Phoenix Youth Fest Come and help us launch our exciting new courtyard and enjoy a day packed with live music from local young artists, dance workshops, music jams, tours, sports competitions, and much more. Get a sneak peak at our new-look Bunker space, complete with vocal booth and recording studio. Who: All ages welcome! The YCIR program supports local creatives aged 18-25 to build professional skills, pursue creative goals and share their work with the community. We look forward to seeing Saanjana's debut collection of essays and poems, and Chase's exhibition and stamp-making workshop come to life during their residency! Meet them at their Open Studio during Phoenix Youth Fest and see a showcase of their work at Phoenix from Thursday 29 October.

Drop In Drop In is a relaxed and welcoming space for young people aged 12–18 to hang out after school, catch up with friends, meet new people, enjoy free snacks or join an activity. There's no pressure to take part, young people can use the space in the way that suits them best.

End of Year Celebration Save the date Maribyrnong Youth Services End of Year Celebration is happening on Friday 27 November! Free food, drinks and activities will be supplied on the day. Rock up with a cool outfit and a good vibe! Head to the Youth Hub website to get involved in planning and have your say on the celebration!
