Construction is underway for CDI crews on perhaps the only luxury, nigh-rise condominium going up in Houston today - the Tealstone. Located at 150 Gessner Drive in the Posh Memorial area, the Tealstone will rise 15 stories in this denselywooded stretch of the city. A development of Houston Tealstone Venture, Inc., the Tealstone will house 59 units. Featuring five residences per floor, the floor plans range in size from 1,113 to 2,440 square feet while the 15th floor is reserved for up to four specially-designed penthouses. Other construction highlights include a three-story, enclosed parking garage with controlled access. Atop the garage will be a recreational area for residents and their guests which will include a large swimming pool, cabana, exercise rooms with saunas and terraced lawns for lounging and entertaining. The building will be clad in buff colored pre-cast panels and bronze glass. Highlighting the entrance is an arch detail carved above the double door which is very similar in style to the arches used during the Italian Renaissance era to define entrances. Travertine marble floors and walls will be featured in the main lobby. Amenities will include valet parking, a doorman and maid service. For general contractor, Warrior Constructors, Inc., the scope of CDI’s work includes all the drywall, insulation, acoustical ceilings and the structural studs and joists to support the roof of the fourth floor recreational area. Dusty Lobb, who recently completed Marathon Oil Tower, is supervising CDI's work on the project. Scott Ray handled the initial

layout work prior to Dusty’s move to Tealstone. "There really isn’t anything out of the ordinary for our craftsmen at Tealstone,” says Mike Holland who is handling project management duties. "The units are normal condominiums with just plain walls and ceilings. The biggest construction challenge is the tight location of the job. The workers have to be bused in each day and as the job progresses, there could be a problem in materials delivery

and job cleanup.” According to the developer, the condominium residences are scheduled to be completed late in the spring, Mike adds, “This is the first job we have done for Warrior in some time, so we're really looking forward to it. Also, we are happy to be a part of the only luxury condominium project under construction." Estimating of the project was done by Joe Gilligan.
