ODD gegimg up for Sap Antonio market San Antonio in the ’80’s may well become the Houston of the 70s that is, if projections by leading economists hold true. The city is slated for more than $500 million dollars of construction activity in 1984, including several multi-story office buildings, hotels and condominiums. And, CDI plans to be in the thick of things. To position itself for a substantial portion of the anticipated $34 million in drywall and acoustical work, CDI-San Antonio has undergone a sort of face lift. The _ result is a staff which is a combination of veterans from both ^the San Antonio and Houston offices. Heading the branch is Frank Sciullo, who previously served as co manager of Houston’s contract sales department, Frank, a native of Pittsburg, has more than 15 years in
the interior construction industry, having joined CDI in 1982. “From the information I’ve seen, San Antonio will be a strong construction market for several years. I think that with our expertise and systems, we’re in a position to be the dominant interior contractor in the market," says Frank. Frank says that more than $900 million of new construction is scheduled for the San Antonio/Austin area with San Antonio to get approximately 55 percent. In 1983 the area’s construction amount reached $787 million. In addition, 1.5 million square feet of lease space is presently under construction with another 5.8 million square feet proposed. Joining Frank from the Houston operations are director of construction Luis Soliz, paint

superintendent Kevin Turnbull and accounting manager Diane Jones. Luis has spent 12 years with CDI, the first 10 in the field as a craftsman and as a jobsite supervisor. He has spent his past two years as field superintendent over tenant construction. Kevin joined CDI in 1981 and has emerged as one of the company's top paint supervisors. His experience includes more than 10 years in the paint/wallcovering business. Meanwhile, Diane will head San Antonio’s accounting department. A seven year veteran with the company, she has headed up the payroll department and served in general accounting. These individuals join San Antonio’s existing staff which includes estimators Dave Demel, Dewitt Churchwell and Harry Goodale, project managers Grady Atnip and Bret Van Delden, superintendent Wayne Schultze, warehouse manager Richard Lopez and secretary Loraine Fritz. Dave, Dewitt and Harry have more than 25 years of combined interior estimating behind them. These individuals working closely with Frank, will handle the sales efforts for CDI. Bret and Grady will be responsible for the management of projects once construction has commenced. Bret received his training in Houston, while Grady served in the San Antonio field operations for five years. Richard has headed the warehouse operations since 1979 while Loraine joined the company last summer. “We plan to take a very aggressive posture in the market. Our field has always been strong. I think we’re set to handle the growth projected for the city," claims Frank.
